Okay, just for fun and because I'm too curious for my own good, this is a thread to submit your own "life is like" quotes. There are millions of them, and some of them are pretty funny. These are the best from a previous attempt. These quotes are also an insightful look into the heart of the author. I find it amazing how many different moods and outlooks on life can be supported by this structure as well.
So let's laugh and realize that life is like...
a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get.
a roll of toilet paper; the closer you are to the end, the faster it goes.
a roller coaster; ups and downs and over too soon.
a blanket too short. You pull it up and your toes rebel, you yank it down and shivers meander about your shoulder; but cheerful folks manage to draw their knees up and pass a very comfortable night.
a dogsled team. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes.
riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.
a mirror, we get the best results when we smile at it.
a dream. The second you get into it, time steps in and you have to let it go.
a computer, every five minutes something bad happens.
the internet, the only thing it's really there for is sex.
a computer, everything you do will get you in trouble.
a pencil, every time it breaks you attempt to fix it.
a stapler, it always runs out at the most inconvienent times.
a ruler, it only measures up to be so high.
a video game, your experience takes time to add up.
a song, it will have it's sforzandos and diminuendos.
The Matrix, we all depend on machines.
a kitchen, you keep on inventing new things until you cut yourself on a knife.
a book, only so many chapters til it ends.
a tool, you take care of it it takes care of you.
a car, it requires constant maitenance but if repaired quickly it always takes us where we want to go.
a zombie, slow, predictable and easily taken care of unless one runs in fear of it.
the computer. Unexpected things happen when you're in the middle of an important event...like a blackout.
a video game. If you don't try hard you'll never level up.
a boat, we're all in it, some people just got bigger cabins.
a banana, easily bruised and always made fun of.
a candle - That which burns brightest, burns out quickest.
a villian - No matter how great you get, something comes along to mess it all up.
a cliche - It's great, until everyone does the same thing.
a Fairy Tale - The white knight always comes after you need him.
a story, one scene at a time.

A swimming pool. You have a whole bunch of shallow water people, then everything drops from under your feet and the people suddenly are over your head.
A swimming pool. Your either swimming or drowning.
A war. Impossible to do away with completely, insane, and no one knows whats going on till the end.
A war. Everyone around you dies untill your one of the people around someone else.
A cookie. Fun to make, some times fun to get rid of, but waiting for them gets annoying, especially when you burn your hand while taking them out.

a vacuum. It sucks....
a glass of milk. Seems good at first but goes sour over time....
a rollercoaster. it takes you in all directions and after awhile it makes you sick.......
a dead puppy. It aint gonna get better......

Life to me is like:
*a candy, sometimes can be sweet but other times can be bitter!
* a book, you can have an happy ending, live a fairytale or just have a dramatic end.
* cience, cause you never know what will be discovered next.
* a school, where you learn about so many things that you have to deal day by day and learn from the most superficial to the most important!

Life is like...
... a video game. Sometimes, you just want to pause it and take a break.
... a dog. Sometimes it's your best friend, sometimes it bites you in the rear.
... Gaia. Always changing, for better or worse. Yet you still love it all the same.

a lottery ticket-you're given chances and sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.
a piece of art-we interpret it one way at some point, look away, and look again later and usually change our view of it.

...A dictionary, It can be helpful, or useless, depending on how you use it.
...Why Not?. You never know what is going to happen next and where.
...A concert. Either your on stage or your not.
...A concert. It rocks or it stinks, hardly ever is it in the middle.
...A band. It rocks, or it doesn't, depending on what music they make.
...The USA. Too full of stuff to know what's happening, where, why, and how to get there.
...Government. Some can be bad, others good, others end, while there is always a new beggining.
...War. Nothing is fair anymore.
...Teenagers. They don't listen, don't care, seem to get stupider as time goes on, and feel 'misunderstood.'
...An author. Some people love them, others hate them, others couldn't care less, but every one of the authors' die.
...A story. Every story; good, bad, beautiful, and ugly, must come to an end in some way, shape or form.

life is like an umbrella. it's more fun to share with another person than walk by yourself.
life is like a sparkler. it starts off with a bang, and you sparkle and show off until the end is near then your fizzle out and are stuck in the dirt. yet despite the shortness of it all you still always have fun.
life is like an airplane ride. It has it's ups and downs but somehow you always seem to get where you're going even with all your baggage.
life is like coffee, usually bitter until we add a little something to sweeten it up.
life is like oil. we take it for granted until it starts to disappear, then we fight like the dickens to get more.

life is like a new CD, you grow up liking some songs more then others, and not liking certain songs at all. But you eventually learn love every song in one way or another.

Life is like a Newspaper, mostly full of horrifying news, but at the end of all that there's the funnies that brighten our day.
Life is like a subway car at rush hour. When you get on it gradually becomes full until it's packed tight, then before you know it there's less and less people with you, until finally it's your stop to get off.
Life is like a Banana, when treated coldly it rots faster.

Life is like a rose. It's beautiful and amazing at first glance, but if you handle it roughly... it's going to draw blood.
Life is like a picture. You look at that scene from your past and wish you can go back, but then you realize that one moment in time where you could've made everything worthwhile won't happen again.
Life is like an iPod Shuffle. It's always on random, but you can control what tracks you put on it.
