In terms of story plot, characters, drawings...etc. which one is better?

I personally think Gaiden coz:
-Goku is cute and innocent
-Nataku is there and is not weird and Goku kinda "saves" him
-Kenren aka ken-chan looks waaaaaayyyy better than Gojyo...but i think it's the hair
-Hakkai...meh
-Sanzo...bleeeeehhhhh!!!!

I think Sanzo is definitely better than Konzen, who is an antisocial paperwork freak, who has no fighting skills, who looks like a girl.

Kenren I like better than Gojyo...mainly coz of the hair and the cool clothes. I still think he should have black hair, not pink like in the anime. I think the anime should've made both Gojyo and Kenren's hair more red, instead of a weird pinky purple.

Tenpou and Hakkai I'm both fine with, but Hakkai looks better (plus Hakkai has Hakuryuu!!).

Goku is definitely cuter in Gaiden (though I think his voice doesn't suit him in the anime), since none of the cuteness remains in Saiyuki...cept in flashbacks and Burial. Plus Nataku has a really cool voice which I like lots.

Storyline wise, I like Saiyuki better, since Gaiden is a bit too emo for me... Saiyuki has bits and pieces of humour, and all these different side trips which they go on. Gaiden is just based on the one serious subject.

I totally HATE the way Saiyuki and Saiyuki Gaiden were merged in the anime!! It was terrible and made it seem like a flashback of the Sanzo Ikkou, when if fact they are talking about four different people (besides Goku). The only good thing about the anime is the voices and songs.

Ugh...I tend to ramble a lot.
