I would guess it's the anime/manga theme that attracts most people, rather than just having an avi that you either rip or make yourself in photoshop, you got this character that you can spend your money on, so it looks all good and leet. Quite rare, makes it more fun to stick around.
Personally, I joined because a friend told me to join, hung around a bit.
Well, a friend told me ^duh^
I usually don't stick around in places for too long, you could call me an internet vagabond, I kind of skip to different places from time to time. I like to come to gaia for artistic reasons though.
and last question......
that I don't have anything more interesting to do with my life at the moment, lol

What is it about Gaia that continues to attract new people? I think well managed chat websites will always attract people, the avatars are just icing on the cake. ^.^
What's the reason you joined? I wanted to make my sister mad...
How did you find the site? Through my sister, who found it through a friend.
What kept you here? I leave and come back, I think I'm a gaia addict, I'm hooked, so I'll never fully recover (Admitting it, the first step on a 12 step process)
So, as life pertains to Gaia- what does it mean to you? Gaia is my way to relax, be a little wacky, not be what people expect me to be.

What is it about Gaia that continues to attract new people? I have not the slightest clue. Most people join because they hear about it from friends. I don't know a lot of people who just found this site by coincidence or anything...
What's the reason you joined? I heard about Gaia's version of online roleplaying from a friend, and found it interesting. She helped me to set up my account back in 2008.
How did you find the site? Again, I found Gaia through a friend of mine. We don't talk a lot anymore, though. In fact, I don't think we talk at all. xD
What kept you here? Probably the opportunity to escape the chaos of my actual life, and the way of killing time is essential to my sanity. I'm trapped at home alone quite a bit.
So, as life pertains to Gaia- what does it mean to you? It's sort of my way of keeping in touch with the outside world when I'm home alone. It's a comfort to me, to know that while I'm home by myself, or my real life isn't so great, there are people spread across the world that care about me, at least to some small extent. I'm a little bit more... outgoing online, I suppose. But I can still be quite shy, depending on the scenario.
