incase you missed it this is the link that was the announcement . . . which did you like best ? #3 why ? because i'm a humanoid dragon, everybody wants to be something they aren't right ? which did you hate most ? #1 why ? seemed overly simplistic . . . also what is that critter in the pic of #1 is it something planned in the future or is it just some scrapped design ? ? ?

although the people counter could've looked better on #3 that's really my only problem with it . . . i love those arts they do for the mc's although i don't think i've seen any in a while or have i just gotten so used to seeing them i don't even recognize em anymore ?

I liked number 3 best but i think it needed a little avi in the items. Also a better people counter. I didnt like number 5 it was boring!

I didnt like number 5 it was boring! any idea what that critter was on the first design ? was it a scrapped art piece . . . or is it the future of an evolution item or mc ? a thought just came to me . . . what if they made an evolving mc . . . but didn't tell anyone . . . until it made it's first evolution . . . rofl that'd be great . . .

I disliked #1 the most. We are Gaia not neopets, why do we want a picture of a neopet on our welcome page?
I liked the design for #2 best since the real people seemed sort of happy and had happy avatars, though I wish they wouldn't use so many MCs. They could make some perfectly good avatars with store items.
#3 was really pretty, but again, the mermaid stuff is an MC. An older MC at that, so most new kids wouldn't be able to aquire those items.
#4 again used a lot of MCs and the real person doesn't look that happy. Don't we want new users to think this is a happy fun site?
#5 concentrates too much on forums. Boring

I don't know why everybody loooves number 3 so much! X____X It's so misleading, it has nothing to do with gaia past being a picture from one of the MCs. IMO it was no better than #5... Sure anime-style art is pretty and all, but tell me what that says about gaia to a prospective user?
I love #2! I think it's creative and really represents gaia to new users. I think it would be prefect if it just had a little more color and not all white.

Numbers 2,3, and 4 all pretty much convey the same message of being what you can't in real life though. The art from aquatica just seems so randomly thrown there and there's absolutely no variety in the design.
It's pretty to look at but I just feel like #2 is a better way to express the site to people who have no clue what gaia is about, more so than just the text next to the design.

i think it'd be great if they'd put MC art behind number 2 . . . the MC art shows that this site was designed for people who like anime/manga . . .

why ? because I think they both rep gaia really well (3 better then 1 thouhg)

why ? It goes in the teen MTV direction I don't want to see gaia go to

I voted for it being the best essentially because of the format of the it as a whole though I suggested that the 'No. of gaians online counter' should be reduced in size or should not be as crappy.
Also I suggested they could have the winner of the avatar arena just on above the 'start here button' and also random images from the gaia games under the 'start here button'.
