What does anyone think of the FF12 delays? Is it good or bad? Or anything...?
I've noticed this place is kinda.... well, dead... but I'll put up a topic anyway! ^_^

*raises hand* I'm not dead! I just, uh, want to... Anyways, the delays are kind of irritating, but if they are fixing bugs and stuff, I guess I'm alright with it, sort of...

i'm kinda still here, but i can't be on as long. (if that makes much sense) i just wish...i dunno...other people could at least *participate* in conversation to random topics...
but, ah, life's just that way.
but anyway...i'm, in general, a very patient person. delays to me mean a good thing; i'm actually looking forward to see the final product for FF12 since it's set in one of my favorite worlds: Ivalice (even though it has no relation to FFT or FFTA at all).

I'm more of an Old-school FF fan, meanig that I love the turn0-based, pixelated games more than recent ones. FF9 was awsome, though.
It's gonna take some getting used to, whatwith the real-time strategy aspect[I heard that it's not round-based]

Nope. If you wanna have an idea of what it's like, play some of the .hack// games or Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. Star Ocean I think is a closer comparison since it's made by Square Enix and you can switch between which character you are controlling atm on the fly.

BTW, Star Ocean is my favorite non-ff game. Easily. Very long, very involved, and the battle system is a BLAST. Besides, I heart Albel Nox almost as much as I heart Cloud Strife.

Interesting...I enjoy those games too. It'll be a neat concept.
I'm ready for a new FF game, though. sweatdrop Even though I have yet to open FFXI and play it. ( sweatdrop sweatdrop I've had it since last Christmas sad )

FFXII can keep getting delayed until the end of time for all I care. I hated the demo..... WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO FINAL FANTASY!? I mean, an offline version of FFXI?! What the hell kind of crap is that?! The battle system is stupid... you can't control multiple characters easily, theres NO RANDOM BATTLES, the summons aren't classic at all...
Don't get me wrong. I like FFXI. Its a great game, I've had a lot of fun with it. But thats online.... console games should be different. I'm not opposed to revamping the battle system, but throwing it out entirely is ridiculous.
As far as I'm concerned, FFXII is the beginning of the end for Final Fantasy. I'll still play it, of course... all I'm sayin is that this game had better have a ******** story. I'm talking FFVII having a crack orgy with Chrono Trigger and FFIV good. And thats a very disturbing mental image, I wish I never said that stressed

It got a perfect score from some Japanese gaming mag, and the characters look to be some of the best FF has had in a while. I mean...they have a female lead for crying out loud (makes me think of Terra and Celes...*sigh*). I'm thinking the story is going to be awesome. And sure, the game's different...but it was kinda addicting in the demo. xd

o.O I have to wonder what demo you played Gwyn, the one my boyfriend got is nothing like FF11 (Unless you're talking about the menus and stuff). It's supposed to be based off of FF Tactics Advance (Which is kinda monotonous, I never really got into the original Tactics though), and so far my main turnoffs is the obvious sexist take Square seems to be doing with their games now. Two words: Bunny Girls >.> And I can't stand Ashe's hot pink short-shorts @.@

I'm looking forward to a good story... but I have a feeling it'll be hyperpolitical, to an even greater extent than VI or IX. Possibly as bad as the original Tactics's political bent. Can I just say that I didn't give a flying fidget about the story for Tactics? rolleyes And Tactics Advance was a load of hooey. The races were a joke. XII has potential, but it's starting off with some major disadvantages in my book.

Look at the past three main male characters (IX, X, XII)...especially Vaan and Tidus. They're wearing, like, no clothes. And they're awful characters. I really like Fran. And she may be a bunny girl (I think they're officially called Vieras), but she could kick some a**. As far as Ashe's shorts go, at least she's not looking FFX-2. I think their actual character will overcome their perhaps demeaning looks.

At least Ashe can kick some serious a** with a sword....despite how fanboyish SquareEnix is going sweatdrop . (one aspect that I'm sorta disliking at the moment...whatever happened to somewhat 'conservative'?)
