Hello Gryffindors!
I'm PadfootsPet, your Dueling Club Captain!
First of all, welcome to the Dueling Club! I am honored to have you on my team!
Unfortunately there are those in the world who cannot live in peace, so we need to be prepared to fight. The Dueling Club will hopefully prepare you for life after Hogwarts, and a time when you may need to defend yourself against a Dark Wizard.
This club, however, is not only preparation for your future, but as you are students, it is a place for fun! I encourage you to do your best, have fun, and most of all be daring and brave!
I want this to be fun for all of you, so in addition to the thrill of the game, and the honor of winning, you will be given random rewards for the following:
1. You will be rewarded upon every tenth win. As you may find in all houses, my prizes will be random.
2. Original spells that stand out above the rest will also be rewarded!
3. An act of bravery, or morality befitting of Godric Gryffindor will be rewarded!
Check back every now and then, as I will update this post for announcements and events!
Oh, and just because everyone else has a cool quote:
The Greek Philosopher Aristotle once said: “Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.”
I am hoping to see those brave acts!!

Gryffindor Dueling Club's first contests!!!!!The first Gryffindor to win a duel will earn a September 2008 Sealed Envelope!
You can challenge any registered dueler, this includes other Gryffindors as well as Team Captains!
Once your duel has been completed, please notify me, and I will close your duel, and send you your prize!
Dueling Club Recruitment Contest!
If you convince a fellow Gryffindor to join the Dueling Club, send me a PM with both your name and the name of the person you've recruited. Make sure that when they put their name and house in the registry, they put a note that they were recruited by you!
This will earn you 500 gold!
This contest begins now and will continue until September 30, 2008.If you have any ideas for future Dueling Club contests, please send me a PM, or reply to this thread!

Hello fellow Gryffindors!
I want to apologize to you all for my long absence. I definitely want to spend more time on here, both encouraging you, and expanding our team! If any of you would like to get some dueling practice in, please feel free to send me a PM. This also goes for any ideas, or concerns regarding the dueling club, or our Gryffindor team!
I am also looking for a co-captain since I am not on as much as I would like to be. An application will be up within the next couple of weeks, and we'll go from there.
