True, I may have read the series when I was 10 and true I may not be into realistic romance stories but I do have to say that I vehement loathe the Anne of Green Gables series. I just wanted to know if anyone else felt the same way I did.
P.S. Is Jane Austen anything like that or is it better? I'm thinking about reading it but I'm not really sure.

I love both Anne of Green Gables AND Jane Austen. I like the Anne of Green Gables movies better than the books, though.

I liked the first few books of Anne of Green Gables, but the her life just went on and on... I love Jane Austen though! If you don't like Anne, then you may not like Jane Austen's style of writing.

Ya'll think that if I didn't like Anne, I wouldn't like Jane? I love romance though and Jane is a romance novelist so... I don't know. I thought Anne was really boring, so I never finished it. :<

Some of Austen's classics is the best way to start. Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, etc.

I have to say......
I LOVE THE SERIES!!!
Yes there is a problem with flow and she changes her form of writing 1.2 thru the series. I still love it... The story is thoughtful, unique, and beautiful... I noticed her relationship with Gilbert was different in the movies then the books.. Not better or worse just altered a little. I wish I could see the show series....
I also love Jane Austin <3 I have only seen several movies, I am going to buy the books soon.. Her life story is sad, and I saw a lot of her books came from real life experiences and thoughts which is wonderful.. I really wish more authors kept the same writing style.

I loved the books, generally I love anything by Lucy Maud Montgomery, I inherited the love from my mother I suppose. I always think it's a tragedy that i live in Canada and no one in my high school seems to have heard of Anne of Green Gables.
