Theorizing for future investment is always fun. So, some of the most hyped-up items on Gaia are the Evolving items right now. People are investing left and right and a lot of people after the 1st generation.
It got me thinking.
1) Is it really worth it to shell out 200k+ for a 1st gen Biancamella? All generations eventually evolve into the exact same thing.
2) Over time, do you think prices of each generation EI will eventually balance out and become relatively similar, or will 1st gens. always be worth way more than any other gen? Pora Ice 1st gen goes for 38k, 2nd to 4th gen - around 23k. The fact that the icons are all different may be effecting price as well.
3) Keep the item for a few years or sell when the item evolves and the price spikes?

If L's a genius...If L's a freak...Thing is with CS items, aren't they going to be brought back to the store eventually? I don't think they're good with long term investments if that proves to be the case xD However, they're good to have a day or so after they completed their cycles, impatient people freak and run out to buy them xDD The price probably (I haven't really been following.) drops a little a week or so after, then goes back to increase. I'd just sell it in the spike. Rather do that then have the item re-released x .o ...then B's an extreme genius....then B's an extreme freak.

I have a first generation experiment, but I plan to sell it soon after it is finished evolving, and buy a last generation, because in the end, nobody can tell the difference. I think, in a year or more, all generations will equal out, because people will care less and less about an investment, and care more and more about the item its self.

And there in lies the problem... they said only some items will be re-released, not all of them. So, you take a risk by hanging on to items... then again, you could make a bit of a profit if an item is never released into the SC again. confused @Cattrain: That's what I figured, but I also think the 1st gens. will always be hyped up by elitists. It may not be a huge difference in price, but I have a feeling they'll always be worth more.

All the items I wouldn't invest in would never be re-released and all the items I did would be re-released. At a discount, odds are xDD
Plus, in seriousness, I think some of the more expensive items, aka, evolving items, would probably be re-released because they are so popular. But who knows :3
...then B's an extreme genius....then B's an extreme freak.

Same with the plant one. luckily i didn't . . . that's why i can throw around so much gold and not care . . . i learned quick how to invest in the Ei's . . . i actually got a hermes back when there were only two gens released, paid 60k for a 1st gen ended up selling it for 250k . . . wish i had held on to it or sold it during the 2 days it was at 550k . . . but i still made a lot off of it . . .
