The Wind Clan
Main RP Thread

~Setting~
The Wind Clan exists on a small Island off the eastern coast of the Continent. The Island is dominated by a single Mountain, in the center of the island. A stream runs down the side of the mountain, then into the ocean, and is the only source of fresh water on the island. The stream runs through the middle of the only City on the Island.
The city is currently a mix of new and old buildings. Much of the old Romanic buildings have been destroyed in the many battles the Clan has had with the invading Wolves. Newer buildings have been erected in their place. A single Clock tower rises above all the other buildings, on the northern edge of town. You can hear the Bells ringing from anywhere on the Island. The city has grown beyond its walls, which have fallen into a state of disrepair, but recently a new wall has been constructed around the new border of the City. There is a road, leading parallel to the Stream down to where it meets the Ocean, and where the Port to the City is. The road is regularly patrolled, and is often full of traders and visitors.
The Airport is at the very top of the Mountain, built on top of an old shrine. The mountain has three main docks jutting out from the mountain, one directly North, another Southwest, and the third East. These provide docking for the wind clan's Fleet of Airships, the largest fleet on the continent, numbering over One Hundred and Twenty ships(120). The ships are used for both Passengers and Cargo. (See Third post for Airship descriptions.)
The rest of the island consists of grassy, rocky Hill land. Small stands of trees exist here and there, but only a few dozen or so in any one spot.
Much of the land shows evidence of battle. Patrols are regularly sent along the Island, most regularly around the City, and the shoreline of the island. There are obvious signs of battle in many places. Weapons discarded here and there, and in many places, the remains of burned bodies, where there were too many dead, or too few living to bury them all.

Positions

The Commander is the Leader of the clan; His job is to make decisions for the clan, and provide strong leadership during periods of strife.

The Lieutenant-General is the Second-in-command of the clan. He aids the commander in any way possible, and stands in on the Commander's behalf as needed.

The Captains are Captains of one of the clan's Zeppelins. They call the shots as to where the ship goes, what it does, and they're in complete control of the ship and crew at any given time. Regardless of rank(Excepting the Commander and Lieutenant-General), the Captain is considered the highest ranking officer on his ship.

The Regiment Commanders are acting commander of a Regiment. they take orders from the top as to where the Regiment is to go, and what it is to do, but the how it carries out the orders is up to them. The only people who outrank them are the Commander and Lieutenant-General. (The clan only has Eight Regiments)

The Majors are in charge of the individual units in the Regiment. They provide basic leadership and are decision-makers in times of crisis.

The Privates are the basic soldiers of the clan. They are equipped and trained with a Musket, a Pistol, and Longsword. Privates are the only rank not allowed to choose what weapons they wish to carry into battle.

The Spec. Ops. personnel are few and far between. They act as everything from Spies to Assassins, and everything in between. They are most usually those few who excel at various Powers and Magic. As Magic is being outshone by Technology, they are a rarity.

The Medical Officers are trained in Medicine. They are the Doctors, and nurses, that aid the wounded, performing Surgery, and prescribing medicines. A few of them have Powers or Magic that allows them to heal the wounded.

The Pilot are trained in one thing; Flight. These brave souls fly the 'Mosquitoes' of the clan, the Ornithopters. Pilots are daredevils, to be sure, brave, and often foolhardy souls. The pilots of the Wind Clan are the most skilled in the world.

The Engineers are trained in Machinery. If you need to know how something works, or need something fixed; Talk to them. Engineers make up roughly a third of an Airship crew.

Airships

The wind clan is home to the largest fleet of airships on the Continent. Most of them are Military ships, that double as cargo ships, but there are a good number of Passenger ships as well.

ZRS. Aria
Length; 1247'
Full loading capacity; 3 Million Lbs.
Full Crew; 243
Sparse Crew; 120
Passenger Capacity; 800(Set compared to average Voyage time to Supplies)
Armaments; 18 heavy Cannons(8 to port/starboard 1 in bow/stern each), 32 Light cannons(12 to each side; 4 cannons fore and 4 cannons aft)+Bombs
Max Speed; 40 Knots. 50 with tailwind
The ZRS. Aria is a fine ship to fly. Piloted by the Rudderman, commanded by the Captain. It is the main Airship in the Wind Clan's fleet. Used mostly as Cargo ships, but a very few are used as luxury cruise liners. It has eight massive engines that keep the ship moving. The ship is so large, it can, and often does, carry several Ornithopters for defense/scouting.

ZRS. Escort
Length; 454'
Full Loading Capacity; 300,000 lbs.
Full Crew; 140
Sparse Crew; 60
Passenger Capacity; 250
Armaments; 2 Heavy Cannons(Mounted on Rails on port/starboard so as to have 360' coverage) 12 light Cannons (4 to port/starboard 2 bow/stern)
Max Speed; 60 knots. 80 with tailwind.
The ZRS. Escort is a much smaller airship, used to scout, transport, and escort larger airships, and Seafaring ships. Due to its smaller size, this ships four Engines can power it much faster than the larger Aria.

Ornithopter
Length; 37'
Passenger Capacity; 4(Plus Pilot)
Armaments; 2 foreward-mounted Light Cannons.
Ornithopters are strange, ungainly, but useful contraptions. The wings undulate, much like a bird, allowing the Ornithopter to fly. They are dangerous if flown too low, as they are so small, a fair gust of wind can blow them around a bit.

Hot Air Balloon
Height; (In Flight) 48'
Passenger Capacity 2(Plus Pilot)
Armaments; (Military Balloons Only) One Light Cannon mounted on a 360' swivel rail.
The Hot Air Balloon is used for several purposes. Most commonly it is used to take passengers high above in the sky, to provide a fantastic view. Military Models, however, are outfitted with a single cannon, making them Mobile Gun Turrets. Hot air balloons have no later propulsion system of their own, and drift on Wind Currents. Military Pilots, however, are almost without exception able to influence those wind currents with inherent powers, to take the balloon where they wish.

Araris Sabre Cobiscus Valerian, with a gleam in his eye, nodded to the Rudderman. "Lets set her off, please, Mr. Thorne." The Rudderman nodded to his Partner, who sent a shout down the Message Tube that ran the length of the ship, all the way to the Engine room. The Engines roared to life, the propellers whirling at top speed. The Rudderman steered the ship to the East. The ship was in Top Condition, the Sabre, she was. The Capital ship of the Wind Clan's substantial fleet.
And just like that, Araris was in his Element. They were Aloft, the ship headed off to its destination, rising up to take advantage of higher Wind Currents.

Down along the shore there was a strange being that had washed up and had dragged himself away from the waters. Drenched and freezing, he stood up shivering and dripping with sea water and layers of sand that stuck to his scaly skin. He glared at the seagulls that were scurrying about across the beach and some of which screeched at his intrusion. It wasn't long before he screeched right back at them and chased them into flight. Zeph had a good laugh at driving the seagulls away, "Ha! That never gets old!"

Even though Zeph was a part of the group of demons who had taken over the dark clan and was supposed to stick with them, he decided to depart from that area in order to see what had happened to his old home, and what became of his old friends within the wind clan territory. He dusted some of the sand off of himself, and with that he started walking towards the direction of the city.

A mid level amount of brush complimented the shore line of the Island. Sounds of happy animals could be heard roughly from the beach. The sword grass swayed in the gentle breeze, naturally fanning those within it's confines with unpleasant rashes and irritating cuts. As it approached midday the wind died down and all that could be heart was the soft azure waves dancing to their unheard music. Hattori found himself traversing the blades of nature keeping himself from within their reach with a bit of wind magic.

He quested for the comfort of a wet midday adventure, hoping to calm his nerves before he was sent out et again, aiding the ideals and desires of his country.

As Zeph approached the city, he gradually started blending in with the background. Blotches of himself seemed to disappear and soon the rest of him followed. It would be difficult to spot him unless one was paying attention to sudden movements in areas that shouldn't. When he got within the city, he moved quickly, jumping between buildings and running on top of them to avoid the obstacles within the streets. Much of the city was different from what he remembered, and he sneered at such changes, What was wrong with the old stuff that they had to change it?

Then he stopped on top of the structure that was now standing in place of what used to be where he lived. Nothing he saw there or inside the new building was familiar to him. He had been excited to come all this way to the wind clan just to see a few old friends, but now he realized that they were most likely dead.

He smacked the side of his head before crawling back up to the roof, and then made his way back to the outskirts of the city and traveled back to the shore. He figured he'd travel across the ocean faster by swimming, but then again he wasn't too sure how fast the boats were nowadays, Eh...oh well, I guess I need the excercise...

And he was once again in the ocean with one swift leap, swimming towards the continent.

((edit~sorry, just couldn't wait >w> . heading back to the continent xP ))

Kazen sat under a tree pondering his past.where did my past take a wrong turn. I was just like every other hellian when BAM on my eighth birthday all my demon friends even some of the human ones started to bully me. WHY! I flew here to Wind Clan, settled miles from anyone else and only Araris Valerian knows where I live and I still don't feel far enough from them!
The demon picked up a twig and crushed it in his golden talons. "Aargh I wish they would all die every last one of them, every last dark clan member right down to the most innocent little girl should DIE! I even signed up as a regiment commander hoping for war with the dark clan but No, theres no sign of war with anybody.
That's it I neec to go to the mountain it always feels more peaceful there
Kazen stood up, his long black robe fluttering in the breeze. He then proceeded to spread his feathery gray wings and fly to the mountain.

In the middle of a forest in the Wind Clan, a light appeared from the ground and as soon as it disappeared, Lucifer stood in its place.
"Hola. I wanted to appear on the edge, but the spell brought me in. Ah well.."
She brushed herself off any dust or sand, and started to walk towards the city.

The wind got breezier, and the sight of flying ships made Lucifer feel small.
"How am I supposed to find fighters here?...Ah, the ships. Are those warships?"
She muttered to herself, feeling rather absorbed into the things that fly in air. Some even just stayed still in midair.
