|
Posted: Thu Apr 24, 2008 4:36 pm
Why yes! It's the first event the TGPS is holding and its to celebrate Mystaira(creator, artist, and god-mother to Katashi)'s 19th birthday! First I'll apologize for not having a very interesting set up for the event... But I'm better with pictures than I am with words... >3<;;
The birthday party consists of a custom auction(which is in the main shop thread), a RP event party here, and an OOC party in the main thread... if people show up. ^^;
Those participating in the RP have a chance to win a 5% off coupon for the shop, which can be used on flatsales or even customs. If there are enough participants then there may be more than 1 coupon.
Also there may be other little games with possible prizes if people suggest them to me. And they shall be updated in this post.
This thread shall open for posting at 6pm, April 25th.

The pocky shoppe has been decorated for a birthday party, seems to be mostly in black and red colors, though it might not actually have much of the atmosphere of a birthday party but it still is. Streamers are strewn here and there, balloons strung up on the ceiling and walls, sparkly things floating in the air above people's heads. Definitely seems like a party. Tables and chairs are set up throughout the shop for people to sit at, with plenty of room for people to move about the shop without it getting crowded. Assuming a whole bunch of people don't show up, it shouldn't get too crowded anyway.
On a large table in the middle of the store between the tables set up for guests to sit at are platters of various baked sweets. Hikari seems to have gone full out with baking treats for the party, making the air smell heavily of freshly baked goods. Pocky isn't the only thing our resident patissier can bake after all. Though there is several platters with freshly baked pocky on them as well.
Even more of the delicious smells were wafting out from the kitchen where Hika-chan was occupied in making even more tasty treats. Standing at the entrance to the kitchen, watching over the shoppe was a rather slick looking man with long brushed back black hair in silky black clothes. Sitting at a table near the large center table, close enough to lean over and snatch tasties from the table, was a young woman with long black hair wearing a small silver crown adorned with diamonds and black and red clothes. Sitting beside her was a young boy with long dark green hair in a dark green kimono-ish style outfit.
Mystaira turned to look at Ryuusei, "Come on, sit down and eat something with us, its not like anyone is going to sneak into the kitchen and spirit Hika-chan away." she said while waving a coconut covered pastry at him. "It's my birthday! Have some fun!" Taking a bite of the pastry she was holding caused her face to melt into a savoring smile. "Mmm, Hika-chan is the best patisser ever!"
Ryuusei chuckled and smirked, "I can have just as much fun from here Myst." he said whilst glancing into the kitchen to observe Hika-chan bustling about in it. He didn't seem that interested in the birthday party, though it was his precious Hika-chan's idea. Helping to set up the party was just fine, but he was more interested in his lover than anybody else.
Snickering, Myst swallowed a bit of pastry, "Yeah, but not as much fun as you'd like since Hika-chan forbade you from entering the kitchen during the party so he could bake." she said and tossed him one of her pastries that wouldn't crumble everywhere if you threw it which he deftly caught. "I'm sure Hika-chan will come out and play with you sooner or later."
Getting up from his chair, Katashi ignored the banter for the most part and walked over to the center table to get more pastries to take back to his spot at the table.

Unashamed of the dull, milky irises that showed off her blindness, a bright haired woman stepped lightly into the shoppe, carefully guided by her much larger companion. Her head tilted slightly as she listened to the sounds that sifted through the air - and smelled the delicious scents that wafted through it as pleasantly as if they were a perfume. Smiling up to where she thought Eremon's head would be, she gave him a small nod of approval for his decision to bring her to this new place, pleased to get out of her house for once and go for a nice, long walk.
The tall, athletic Irishman's sea foam eyes darted about the shoppe quickly and carefully, examining what was around to make sure that Niamh would not run into anything - and would be perfectly safe. He was over protective of her, though he'd certainly never admit to it. Catching sight of the many party decorations, a few simple questions flitted through his head, and a hard, confused smile was all he gave to the paltry few people he saw within.
Gently placing his hand once more onto the small of Niamh's back, he guided her slowly towards where they were gathered, before giving a small nod to the only man present, assuming he was likely in charge, and extending a large hand, "My name is Eremon," gesturing with his head he softly added, "and this is Niamh", we were wondering if you had any special treats, but..."
The tall man faltered for a second as his eyes once again wandered the shoppe, again taking into sight the young lady and boy present, unsure if they were intruding, or if the place was supposed to be closed but to a few special patrons. With a small shrug, he picked up again, "...If you're having a party, though...we can come back another time...?" He was uneasy at being unsure, and was concerned he'd picked yet another dead end trip to get Niamh out of the house. He'd merely meant to take her someplace nice, where she could rely on the senses she still had more than sight - but he was starting to feel as if maybe he'd picked a bad time.

Ryuusei smiled at the newcomers in the shop and shook the man's hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you Eremon and Niamh. I am Ryuusei, I own this shop with Hikari, my patissier, who is currently baking more birthday treats at the moment." he said warmly before gesturing at the large center table, "We are having a party, but it is open to anyone and everyone, feel free to help yourself to some pastries, and if you like them, perhaps you might stop by another day as well to buy some." he gestured with a flourish at the display counters which showed various gourmet baked goods, the most prominently displayed ones being the gourmet pocky. Sure he wasn't that interested in birthday parties, but he wouldn't let a potential customer or customer be scared away because they were having one.
After a moment as if an after thought he gestured to the two sited at the table, "The boy is mine and Hikari's child Katashi, and the young lady next to him is his godmother and the cause of this party, Mystaira." he said, making it sound like the party wasn't really a joyous occasion. He deftly caught the pastry that was aimed at his head and promptly offered it to the two in front of him with a pleasant smile, "Pastry?"

Giving a firm shake to the hand of the man he held in his large fist, he gave him an approving nod before allowing his gaze to follow the introductions to the other two people. A small sigh of relief escaped his lips as he realized that it was an open party and they weren't completely intruding in an unwanted place. With a glance at the table and the many pastries placed on it, his mouth began to water and he vaguely realized that he was growing rather hungry...
There were many choices set up so carefully in the shoppe, and he was intrigued by the sheer variety, wanting to try some of almost everything. Nodding pleasantly at the man to indicate he would certainly try some and most definitely be back later, he faltered only slightly when reminded that there were others present. With a charming smile, he gave a quick bow of his head to both, before offering his best wishes, "A happy birthday to you, Mystaira, and many more to come, I hope!" Faintly wishing he'd had a shot of whiskey or a glass of wine to toast to that wish, he turned back to the man once more as a pastry was chucked at him most unceremoniously.
Surprised at the deft aim, and how easily the man had caught it, he wondered if there'd been much practice to this. It had seemed like that was a frequent event, and a quiet chuckle escaped from his mouth in amusement. The hand not sitting in the small of Niamh's back reached forward to accept the proffered pastry, a pleased grin settling onto his normally grave face.
At the sound of Eremon's rough, lilting voice introducing them, Niamh put on her best smile, merely nodding in concert with what he said. She couldn't see who he was talking to, and when the man began to speak, her head tilted slightly as she cocked her ear more accurately in his direction. As she always did when hearing a new person, she focused on his name, and how his voice sounded, imprinting them in her memory so that she would be able to call him by name should he speak to her later. The soft sigh from Eremon brought an amused smile to her lips, but it only lasted for a short while as the man continued talking.
At the mention of others, she drew backwards just a little into Eremon's guiding hand, unsure of where they were at and her head tilting even more as she listened for their breathing, or any faint noises she could that might identify them, finally separating them out and smiling over in what she thought was their general direction. A gentle nudge from Eremon brought her to look more accurately in their direction, and she smiled both with gratitude for his assistance, and in genuine pleasure in 'meeting' new people.
Allowing her head to drop into a small bow, she smiled pleasantly, "In that case, a happy birthday to you, Miss Mystaira." Although she had never met the woman, she felt it was only proper to extend fair wishes on the person celebrating. Especially since they had so abruptly stumbled in on a party - open or not, she still felt awkward about the entire situation. Niamh was left feeling at a loss, unable to see and in a new environment, she had no way of knowing where to sit or what to do, and it bothered her no small amount that her blindness was once more proving to be a handicap.
Nudging lightly into Eremon once more when he chuckled, she wondered what had happened that was so funny. Catching the scent of a pastry much closer than any had been earlier, she turned her head back in Ryuusei's direction before giving a small smile. It sounded as though he was offering one to the two of them, and it did smell delicious, but she didn't want to stick her hand out and blindly wait for him to hand it to her, so she gave a short shake of her head, "No, thank you, though."
Leaning once more into her guide, she hoped he would catch the signal and guide her to a chair. If they were going to stay, she might as well get comfortable and not feel silly standing around staring about blindly.
Catching the signal, albeit a tad belatedly, Eremon gently guided her towards a chair at the table near to the child and birthday girl. As he assisted her in sitting, carefully with one hand so as not to drop the pastry, he smiled at the company that was present. He knew that Niamh didn't like people treating her differently due to her blindness, and vaguely hoped that perhaps they'd think he was merely being a gentleman and disregard her milky white eyes.
Having accomplished helping Niamh sit, he took a seat of his own right next to her. Close enough to aid her should she need it, but not so close so as to appear over protective. Or, at least, he hoped he didn't seem over protective. That, he knew, also got on her nerves. And he was trying very hard to get back into her good graces.

Echo peaked in to the door. She had been here before but it was the smells that drew her back to the shop. It smelled delicious here! The woman saw that there were people already arrived so stepped in. A boy followed closely, his nose in a book. It was obvious how oblivious he was to his setting.
"Akihiro," the small woman mumbled, turning partially to close the door behind the boy. "Don't you think you should at least watch where you are going?"
The boy didn't even blink. He hadn't heard the voice.
"Akihiro!" Echo said a bit more sharply.
Finally, she had his attention and he looked up, blinked the confusion from his eyes and then focused on her face. "Yes?"
Echo only sighed and walked to the table. She had just caught the end of the conversation, and turned her own head to that direction. "Oh, a birthday? I'm afraid I didn't bring a gift."
Akihiro's brows furrowed and he used the point of a finger to shift his glasses back up on the bridge of his nose. "Baaad manners, Echo...." he said with a grin, amused.
