Metropolis you gotta read up on a bit on Wiki. Really, because something like a quarter of the film has been lost forever, and there's been quite a few shitty remakes. The newest one is digitally remastered, they've added explanation screens for missing parts, etc. So it's your best bet. And it would be amazingly hard to follow if you didn't know a little bit. Haahaa. Amazing movie, however.
