The season was about to change from from spring to summer, and everything was lush green. Perhaps it was from all the rain the area had been getting lately? At least the temperature had been nice.

Inside the Elderspark tree house, Sylvera lay in a hammock. The sound of rain made her sleep, and totally relaxed. She had been alone all day, and found that there was no need to wear her black and silver laced blind. Instead, she used it to tie her hair in a braid. Her cerulean eyes sparkled in what little light there was, and memories of Rhapsody ran through her head. The last time they had seen each other was in December, and she had greatly missed her friend.

She wondered if she would meet anyone new today, or perhaps meet again with an old friend.

Though it was only a thought passing through Sylvera's mind, it almost seemed like the heart-felt memories had served as a wish.

Which had come true. It as a new day. A fun day. A perfect day for romping. A pale blue figure could be seen a way's off from where Sylvera was resting. It was bucking and prancing in a carefree manner through the grasses nearby. The lush grass was much longer than it had been during the winter, which meant one had to jump up really high in order for their whole self to be seen by another. And even after the play, the grass could be a pretty good snack, if one was into such. It wasn't Rhapsody's favorite, but she had done it before.

After a bit of romping, the silly lacewing could not help but start singing, and the song couldn't have been more fitting:

"Wain, Wain, go away
Come again anothehw day!"

That was all she knew of the song, so she kept repeating that part over and over again. The only thing that was somewhat sad about seeing this Kyunru in the rain was the fact her wings were basically 100% useless due to all the water.

Though the rain was pouring down and pounding on a roof, she could hear a faint noise in the distance. It was coming from the open window, and Sylvera bounced up to check it out.

There in field was Rhapsody, the rain totally drenching her. Her wings weren't sparkling like they usually were, but it did not seem to stop her fun. Putting the veil on, she returned to the window and shouted out.

"Hey, Rhapsody! Up here! What are you doing out there?"

The answer was probably obvious.

"I don't want you to get hit by lightning!"

All of her own wings began to flutter, nervous of what might happen.

Most certainly, the sound of rain was the most noticeable sound in the area, shortly followed by her own singing. The sloshing sounds of the muddy grass also didn't help much when it came to being able to hear her friend.

Yet after a bit, she decided to pause and rest from her romping and to rest her voice. It was then she could very faintly hear the sound of another voice. Ears perking up, she tried to listen carefully as well as to follow the sound. Before she knew it, her feet were trip-tropping towards the source on their own. It wasn't long before her feet had guided her to the window where Sylvera was peeking out from. There was a bit of cover there, so the rain wasn't hitting her anymore.

With a blink, she looked up and found her pretty friend there looking down at her. "Oh! What is Syvewa doing heew?" She most certainly had not heard any of her friend's pleas for her to be safe, but now that she wasn't in the rain, it wasn't a big problem.

Sylvera waved down to the lacewing kyun, an innocent sparkle in her blue eyes. She glided down the stairs, opening the door to let her friend in.

"I came to take a nap since it's so quiet here." The unicorn spirit fluttered her wings, and gave her best pal a hug. "Would you like me to grab you a towel? You seem really cold." Even before she could speak her answer, Sylvera was bouncing up the stairs to grab a warm, dry towel.

"Here you go, Rhapsody. Hope it's big and warm enough!"

Once more, she trip-tropped until she was at the entrance. It was very rare for the whole door to be opened up for her. Usually the little Kyunru flap was enough to get in and out without a problem. Maybe it was because nobody wanted her to get the flap wet? Shrugging it off, she proceeded to shake her body off much like how a wet dog would.

Water sprayed everywhere, including on the flap that was meant to stay dry. Oops! Once she was done shaking out, she was still mildly damp, but her fur was much more poofy. In fact, one almost could mistake her for a sheep. The only part of her that didn't seem to gain it's usual lively appearance was her wings. There was no hope for them at the moment. Just time to dry would be all that was necessary.

Trip-tropping into the building now that she wasn't dripping, Rhapsody greeted her friend with a simple "Hewwo!" Her smile was quite big, but nothing less could have been expected from the lacewing.

And before she new it, she suddenly had herself something to help her dry off even further.

"OOooooooo... towehw!" Giggling a bit, she attempted to nestle herself into the big and warm towel, as if almost making herself a nest or burrow.

Sylvera grinned, and both pranced into another room full of cushions. The cushions appeared to be all shapes and sizes. There were stars, flowers, butterfly, and more shapes among them. Sylvera found one that was in the shape of a flower, and plopped down on it.

"I have always loved the sound of rain!" Vera exclaimed, removing veil from eyes and tying it around her hair. Her deep cerulean eyes seemed to sparkle like water droplets or rain themselves. "It always reminds me of home, and the naps we would all take together." She yawned, and sprawled out over her pillow.

Curiosity always got the best of Sylvera. "What were you doing out there in the rain?"

Pushing her towel across the floor, she eventually made it to where Sylvera was awaiting. Once more, she attempted to make some sort of nest out of the warm cloth. It looked more like a casually tossed towel than a nest, but it worked well enough.

Now that Rhapsody was comfortable, she took in some of the words her friend was offering. "...sweeping when it is waining?" What a foreign concept! Puffing up as best she could, she announced what she had been doing in the rain. "I was pwaying, of cowse!" In her mind, all the fun activities of being in the rain flooded her thinking. One could jump in puddles, jump in mud puddles, chase after frogs that came out in the rain, merely stand there and catch raindrops on one's tongue, and even possibly just stand and watch the world around. Being inside could be enjoyable, but solely for the sound of the rain. Otherwise, it was more fun to be outside.

And then, a sneeze snapped the damp lacewing back to reality. "Achoo!" Perhaps the only bad thing about being outside in the rain was the fact you got cold afterwards.

Rolling over on her pillow, Sylvera laid her head on her paws and listened carefully. She had one ear raised, and the other down. She tried very hard not to doze off, because she knew it would be rude. Truth was, she had gotten very little sleep the night before.

A thin smile appeared over her tiny lips. "That sounds like it could be fun, if you didn't have white hair." She pointed at her tail and long, straight hair (though it was in a ponytail) that was spread among the floor. "It's a real pain in the butt," she giggled. "When I was younger, I didn't seem to have that problem. My friends and I used to play in the rain, the mud, in the nearby spring..." Her voice began to wonder, and she shook her head.

Hearing the sneeze, Vera jumped up and grabbed her friend a tissue. "Here. Just in case you need it." Her smile became a grin, and she plopped back down on her pillow. "I think your nose is just runny. Let's hope it's not a cold." Her wings fluttered.

Logic seemed to fail the lacewing, for she couldn't help but wonder why white hair would make playing in the rain a difficult thing. Did white hair make your head extra heavy when it got wet? Glancing down to her own white chest-fluff, she had to shake the idea out of her head. Her chest never felt heavier than her back fur. It was hardly noticeable at all.

"Why does white haiw make a diffewence?" Her tail wagged a bit as she awaited an answer. Instead, she got a tissue. "Oh, thank you!" With that, she rubbed her nose into the tissue, then got up and trip-tropped it over to a trash can.

"I don't feew sick!"

She smiled when Rhapsody seemed to be fine. She didn't want her friend to feel bad, but there was also something else. The last thing Sylvera needed was a cold, because her family had just gotten over a sinus infection. Bleh.

At first she didn't hear the question. It suddenly clicked when her ribbon fell out. "Well, I suppose it is not just because it is white. Though, it seems to be harder to clean white hair than white fur....but I think that's just me." She noticed she was starting to ramble, and was not making any sense at all. "My hair is thin and white, and if it gets dirty, I have to clean it more than I would my regular fur. My hair falls out if I scrub too hard." She wrinkled her nose, an idea of why popping into her head. "I seem to be aging quickly. Isn't that what older kyuns hair does? Turn white and fall out?" Sylvera sighed, closing her eyes and frowning. "I wonder why I am again so quickly, or what it is?"

Rhapsody, having met a few elder Kyunrus, thought about the statement very seriously. It was odd for her to seem to serious, but she could do it on rare occasion.

Soala was one of the elder Kyunrus she had met, and he seemed extremely youthful in appearance still, as well as he seemed to have plenty of fur. His hair was questionable, since it seemed almost like a flame, and it was very hard to tell the difference between it and hair-type-hair.

Fenix was the other elder Kyunru she had met. He seemed very youthful in appearance and in personality. Afterall, he liked playing tag, right? And he had more than enough hair upon him.

"Maybe you aw puwwing haiws out instead of them fawwing out? Not on puhpose, but on accident!" Popping out of her nest, she went up to look at her friend's pretty hair. She would have brought up a paw to touch it, but her paw was quite dirty from all the romping she had done outside.

"I don't think Syvewa is owd though!" With a big and silly grin, she somewhat flopped against another nearby pillow and rolled over so she was looking at her friend in the upside-down world of "Silly."

The unicorn spirit was now looking eye to eye with her lacewing pal. She stuck her tongue out, and smiled. Though Rhapsody seemed like a child, she was actually quite smart. She applied what she knew to other things, and let her best judgment be known. "I'm really impressed, Rhapsody. I never expected to find such a great friend."

With that, Sylvera pulled what seemed to be two shower caps out from under her pillow. She placed the one with ear- and wing- holes over her head, placing her hair in a bun as best as she could and stuffing it inside. She did the same with her tail, though she had much more trouble trying to get it to stay on. When it was finally secure, her back wings fluttered. "Would you like to come play with me in the rain?"
