maetria
Name:Assenkaa
Sex:Female
Species:Naga
Hair: Dark brown although she keeps her head shaven
Skin: The brown of soft dark sugar
Eye colour: green
Clothing: As much as is necessary to abide by the law when in foreign places. Habitually she dresses in golds and browns, close fitting garments below covered by filmy veils.
Acessories: Gold ear and nose piercings, Golden bangles which chime about her wrists. Two daggers, she keeps them well hidden most of the times.
Markings: Black tattoos across her scalp, strange twisted half-shapes, like shadows or smoke rising through the air.

The golden bangles about her wrists chime and jingle as she moves. The soft brown skin rising from the hard dark scales. Tail and belly swaying back and forth, the pattern on the scales seeming to shift and change as she moves. Her eyes like emeralds and somehow hypnotic, to gaze into them is to be filled with lust and fear. She paints her fingernails gold or black and they trace intricate patterns in the air as she moves. Delicate, gauzy, gold veils drift about her, revealing enough to tantalise the mind. At times she seems almost to flow around the room like liquid gold.

She came from the desert, part of a nomadic tribe, a tribe of hunters. The tribal amrkings, black tattoos in sinuous curves, adorn her shaven skull. More gold glints from her ears and her nose, her many piercings another mark of her tribe. Any man foolish enough to take advantage of her quickly learns why her tribe is held in such respect. A first time offender will simply get a taste of the needle like daggers which she carries, concealed. Persistance will bring you a kiss of death as she sinks her poisonous fang into your skin.

She is beautiful and deadly. Her greatest pleasure is to tease. Her temper is short and her anger like a desert storm, fierce and merciless. She knows no other way than to speak her mind and does not understand duplicity. The desert and the music are her only loves.

Bechard
Name: Korvin
AKA: Raven
Sex: Males
Species: Griffin
Orb: A deep blue cats eye marble design with a golden/silver interior.
Hair: Deep blue-black, choppy and ranging in length from short to shoulder-length.
Wings: Deep blue-black, with mottled spots of silver on the tips of his plumage. More often than not he keeps several different colours (usually brilliant in tone) of ribbons tied into his wings.
Skin: Pale, within the realm of human pigments but with a touch of silver.
Eyes: Yellow or amber, with feline pupils. His eyes are almond shaped and slanted, almost to the point of making him seem half asian.
Nose: Sharp and long, like a bird's beak, but not overly exaggerated.
Ears: Black leopard's ears which may or may not be included, as per the artist's discretion.
Mouth: Wide and thin
Tattoos/Piercings: His only body modification is a pair of carved ivory needles pierced through the skin of his left pectoral, near the collarbone.
Clothing: He prefers soft fabrics such as kidskin leather and egyptian cottons, but will often settle for inferior material. He prefers dull or neutral and dark shades of clothing, so that his many gems and metals and bits of ribbon show up all the brighter against him. He likes strange cuts and designs which are aesthetically pleasing, and will single him out of a crowd.
Accessories: Two belts, one of brown leather studded with gems and molded metal, with several pouches, bits of ribbon and a plethora of other pretties tied to it. The second is silver, with a large silver buckle which her clasps higher about his waist, while the leather sits around his hips. He also has an armband made of strung pebbled and glass, and even a few feathers from brightly coloured birds. His most distinctive feather, is that he wears as part of the eyelashes of his left eye.

Personality: Korvin is vain, haugty, overly serious, and sombre. That is, any time that there is not anything pretty or shiny about. The Raven is extremely lonely, and although most of his personality traits are akin to those of a cat, his avian nature takes over when there are things around which may help him to attract a mate. When it comes to actually speaking to a potential candidate however, Korvin finds himself often saying the wrong thing, or inadvertantly insulting his chosen.

Byagane319
Name: Gabriel
Gender: Male
Age: 48
Type: Merfolk
Owner's name: Byagane319

Personality: Serious and to the point are the best ways to describe the Court Mage of Atlantis. Gabriel is a very studious individual, as his magic required years of study and practice to wield the sheer power he has been blessed with. This has developed a great curiosity within him. He loves to learn and now that Atlantis is making contact with the surface world again, he hopes to bring new technologies and update the histories with stories of the surface. Perhaps he can even discover new spells to help defend his Emperor and kingdom. With his young cousin as the current ruler, he finds himself in a guardian and protector role. He will do anything to keep his cousin on the throne until he is of proper age. He doesn't believe in doing things half way or spontaneously so he is a good mentor to the teenage Emperor. As the only child of the Captain of the Defenders, he is constantly striving to be the absolute best at everything he does. He keeps trying to prove himself a good son despite not being a defender. His father has told him he is proud no matter what Gabriel's profession, but he forever feels guilty about not following in his father's footsteps.

Character history: Gabriel was born to Azreal, the Captain of the Defenders and his beautiful wife Ambrosia. Being born pure white made Gabriel a herald child of the royal family. His uncle was the Emperor and declared him to be a blessing to the court. Though it did not mean he would be the next ruler, he would undoubtedly be a powerful mage. From this early age he was tutored by some of the kingdom's greatest magicians and sorcerers. However the young mage felt slightly depressed about his chosen position. He saw his father and the other defenders practicing their skills to protect the kingdom against invaders. He thought, like many sons of the kingdom, he should follow in that pursuit. But Azreal would have none of that. He told Gabriel he had a special gift, as neither his father nor mother had much if any magical skills. He was meant for great things and therefore would stay in his mage training.

A few years past and Gabriel was a teenager when his cousin and future Emperor was born, Manakel. Without others to play with and being one of the few magically inclined children of the court, he took heart in the joyful youth of his cousin. They spent many hours talking and playing together when Gabriel could tear himself away from his tutors. It was almost like having a younger brother, and eventually a younger sister with the birth of Princess Uriel. He helped Mana with his own studies of courtly behavior and proper etiquette. He even began helping him master the magic that sprung forth from the future ruler. They were complicated spells and Gabriel could not wield them. So he had to teach through experience and practice with his own spells. Then, the greatest tragedy in many years happened. While out surveying a warm cove, the Emperor was stung by a deadly jelly fish. There was nothing to be done, he died within minutes in the arms of his distraught Captain. Gabriel's father was beside himself with grief. He was supposed to defend the Emperor, who was his own younger brother. Gabriel comforted his father the best way he could, by promising to find a spell to protect the next ruler from the deadly venom of the very beast that killed his Uncle.

Now was the trial of faith. Many of the court advisors were loath to put Mana, a young merteen, on the throne. They claimed he could never run a kingdom properly and that a steward should be appointed to rule until Mana was of proper age. Others claimed it was only right for Manakel to take the throne as he had been marked at birth and had shown the true magic powers that only the Emperor could wield. Gabriel fought back in court for his cousin's right to the throne. He gave an oath that he and his magic would only serve the rightful Emperor and not some stand in. He had grown rather powerful by then and the advisors were fearful of him turning it on them. Though peaceful by nature, he was very defensive of his family. Gabriel's father, his heart lifted by his son's dedication to the royal line, also refused to lead the Defenders for anyone other than the rightful ruler of the kingdom. With some of the most powerful courtiers against them, the dissenting advisors backed off and allowed Manakel to be crowned. Now, bound by his oath and his love for his cousin, Gabriel sits by his side as his most trusted advisor, confidant, and Court Mage.

Physical features: Gabriel is a very sexy merman and is greatly adored by the mergirls both in court and in the kingdom. He has almost pure white skin with no blemishes from head to tail. He does not sport his father's Adonis build but he was not allowed to stay idle once his studies were over. His hair is very long and unbraided which is also unusual. Most merfolk tie their hair back for swimming purposes but Gabriel lets it flow freely. He says it helps his magic move more naturally through his body. He carries himself with dignity and confidence that befit a merman of his ability and standing. His face is forever the look of thoughtfulness and seriousness.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gabriel, the Court Mage of Atlantis, sighed softly as flipped through the pages of a spell book he was suppose to be studying. He still had much to learn regarding spells and incantations despite his over 40 years of training. He also had to make the lesson plan for Emperor Manakel’s next magic lesson. He smirked a bit as he thought of his dear cousin. Even with the stresses of ruling a kingdom he still managed to hold the spark of youth in his demeanor. Gabriel allowed for such things when it was appropriate but did his best to keep the young ruler on the proper path. His own magic was powerful but Mana’s was all important. He gave creatures the ability to breath underwater, which Gabriel had never been able to come close to repeating. It was truly the mark of the Emperor to grant an air breath the ability to join them underwater like their ancestors before them.

A strand of his brilliant black hair floated in front of him. A snow white hand pushed it aside. Snow white, he thought; what did snow look like? They knew of ice, when a glacier would come into their home, but none of their kind had seen real snow. Perhaps one day he would see snow, he remembered Empress Freya commenting on the snow in her home. Mana had already expressed great interest in visiting the other grand kingdoms but Gabriel had promptly reminded him of his duties back home. He would have to save such trips for the future. He chuckled to himself, oh how his cousin and pouted after that conversation. Before, that pout would have earned him what he wanted but not that they were older. Finally the mage could no longer find interest in the book and placed it aside. In a smooth motion he pumped his white tail and floated off down the coral corridors of the palace. His hair fanned out behind him like a silk black cape, he could feel the strands wafted across his back as he swam.

He nodded to the court pages and maids that he met along the hallway, the females giggling at the sight of the handsome mage. He sighed and continued on giving them no other attention. For many years since his coming of age, the girls of the court have sought to catch his eye. He had no interest at this time in finding a mate, more so he was concerned about finding a proper queen for his cousin. He had taken it upon himself to interview all of the women, courtly or otherwise, who wished to woe the young Mana. However Mana was hardly interested in females, so Gabriel kept tabs on which girls looked promising for the future. His mother, however, insists on attempting to find her son a bride. His father just chuckled at the whole idea as he allowed his wife’s attempts for grandchildren. At long last, he found his cousin, sitting in his coral garden.

“Your highness, it is time for your magic lesson.” The white merman swam next to the blue skinned youth.

“Aww come on Gabriel! It’s too nice out for magic lessons.” As always Mana was forever in youth, wishing for fun and frolic when he should be concentrating on his lessons.

“Now now, Emperor, you must be ready with your spells at a moment’s notice and you have hardly conquered a proper whirlpool spell.” He shook his finger disapprovingly at the youth.

“That’s cause they are only good for tossing things.” The emperor giggled at his frowning cousin, knowing he was only frowning to try and make this a serious point.

“Perhaps but it is still useful at times. Now come, let us practice.” His frown lessened a bit as the familiar smirk he gave only to his cousin worked its way forward. And thus, the lesson began as it always did with the Court Mage and his Emperor.

Skypriestess

It didn't say Pm it to the mule or not, so I'll do both.
-being paranoid-

Name: Kira
Gender: Female
Age: 75, though the appearance suggests a young woman half way through her eighteenth year.
Type:
Avariel
Caretaker’s name: Skypriestess

Personality:

Kira is a inquisitive young woman, with a taste for anything that can be taken apart. She is still young enough to love fables, and adores mythology.
Her demeanor is that of a quiet, somewhat reclusive young woman, but inwardly she is quite nice. If she is with someone she can trust, there is no doubt that that will change quickly. Infact, she was once described as a monkey running on jet fuel, by her father.
Of course, it could take a while to get to that point, but don’t worry. Mostly you just have to appeal to her better interests.

Likes:

Reading, debating, any intelligent conversation, clocks, wires, taking things apart.

Dislikes:
Books being mistreated, her papers being moved, and open doors.

Pet Peeves:
Blissful Ignorance, overly loud noises, the feel of porcelain

Mating:
She’ll most likely look for someone as enthusiastically inquisitive as her. Add in the whole wing factor of course.

Other:
She has minor OCD.

History:
Kira was a bit an odd ball, atleast among the others of her race around her. Nature was pretty, but technology held her heart.
Clocks especially.
For someone with an immortal life span, time held a special interest for her.
How’d it work, did it ever reverse, was there a way to stop it?

For her first fifty years, her place of living was covered with them, working and apart. The gears were beautiful to her, the wires magical.
It was amazing to her, that these machines could measure something limitless.

This though, is to far in.
Let us start at the beginning.
Kira was born of pure blood, to two avariel parents.
Both were generally nice people, good features, large leathery wings.
Which made it a bit odd to find their daughters wings stunted, warped, incapable of flight.

Was the child never to soar, never to know that joy?
No, for the father was a tinkerer, and a good one at that.
He crated wings of such beauty, of such elegance, that no one would mind the fact that they were mechanical.
Made from a unknown near indestructible alloyde, the wings feathers were grated after the griffins, large and silver. Wired wove through the structure, strong but with the appereance of threads.
They were large enough to fold over the girl, and when attached to the nerves and muscles in the stunted ones, strong enough for her to fly.

Perhaps it was here that she developed her love for machines.
Infact, it most certainly was, for if she had been born with natural wings, is there any doubt thatgears and wires would have never crossed her mind?

The young woman grew, and aged to near adulthood.
By the time she had reached sixty-five, her obsession with clocks had grown.
She had heard of a clock in the center of the labyrinth, that was located twelve days from her home.
It was in the castle of Goblin King, she was told.
Is there any doubt, that for ten years she planned to see it, to request the right to look inside of it?
No, for if there were, they would be dispelled quickly, for that is exactly where she now is.

Perhaps it was here
