Mordread's Profile

Name: Mordread King
Age: I…*frowns* I don’t know, honestly.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Species: Panther-Human hybrid
Any Children?: Yes. Two biological, and there are five that live with me.
About Me: I’m a writer, with one book published and one about to be published. I’m not insanely interesting, I guess. I don’t really know what to put in this section. People don’t usually ask about me. So I guess if you want to know about me, you’re going to have to ask me specific questions, or I’ll draw blanks.

Hobbies: Reading (Specifically anything on mythology), writing (Science fiction and fantasy), children, gardening, watching television (Mainly the discovery channel), poker, games of skill and wit, cooking.

Talents: Writing. My kids seem to be fond of my cooking.

Looking For: Honestly, I don’t know. The only reason I’m filling this out is because my children have forced me into it. But I’ll try to fill this thing out anyway. I’m looking for someone who isn’t too dominant. I can’t stand dominance, but I can’t stand someone who doesn’t know what they want either. I want someone who doesn’t mind kids, because mine always come first. I’d like, preferably, someone who can at least pretend to like discussing books convincingly, or having intelligent conversations period, even if it’s not about books. If you’re stupid, I don’t like you. Really, I just want a nice guy who won’t push me to do things I don’t want to do, but will instead encourage me and make me want to be a better person. Someone who can take my occasional nagging, because I only do it because I care, who can put up with me being holed away for days at a time writing. I want someone to learn from, and who can learn from me.

Other: What kind of question is this?!

Favorite Movies: OH HE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THESE ARE NOW. He likes Spiderman.

Personality: Mordread, first and foremost, is an ex slave. Because of this, he has very strong issues with certain things. Dominance is not something he can handle very well. It puts him in an odd state of mind, and he becomes a bit of a pushover. He's also a wee bit on the jumpy side, especially because of his eldest son.

Mordread is the scholarly type. A nerd. Adores Mythology, and anything having to do with it. He can be light and funny, if the situation permits, but he seeks to preserve himself by sounding like a smart-assed know-it-all simply to keep people away from him. It's lonely, but the feline has seen too many relationships fall apart and ruin one or both parties. This is one of the few things that terrifies the man. Especially after his last relationship, which has left him in a slightly more broken state of mind then before.

He's a very cunning man, often over analyzing certain things. This can be good, or it can be bad, as he never underestimates his opponents, and usually takes most things that can happen into account. He does, however, have a problem with taking too long to make a move sometimes. This can cause pain. And lots of it.

Mordread likes to bluff, and he can do it well. He doesn't like showing a whole lot of emotion, feeling as doing so is weakness. His smiles are either because of the mention of gardening and books, cynical, a smirk, or forced. Every now and then, someone can make him actually smile, but usually it's because of their stupidity.

So far, the only one who has managed a relationship and bringing out the 'fluffy' side of the cat, is Patrick. This didn't end well, and Mordread accredits it to the fact that he didn't quite know how to act in a relationship and overcompensated for this, driving him away. He's been trying to adjust himself and learn from it, but at the same time he hasn't left the house unless he's had to since the break. Thus his only company has been his children.

The Kids

Those that live with him:

Rothe: Rothe's the eldest of the household, kid-wise, and is in the pre-teen stage of his life (Around 12 or so). He's a cold young man (and a convict) whose idea of being pleasant is likely your idea of being a b*****d. He has an uncanny ability to make people uneasy, is highly possessive, and intimidates the hell out of his father - which he refers to only as Cat and hates. On the flipside, he's very good at taking care of the younger children, as he sees his family as HIS possession, and thus his to take care of. It's a rarity to see him smile sincerely, or have him be kind.

Morgan: A sweet, ten year old girl and Part One of two children that are actually Mordread's biological spawn with ex boyfriend Patrick. Okay, so, sweet isn't the right word. More like, blunt, to the point, and very outgoing. She's not mean, but she tends to point out things in a way that could come off that way. While she does appreciate the color pink, outside of that she can be considered a tomboy. She's not afraid to get dirty, only wears dresses if she's forced to, and prefers torturing dolls rather than playing with them. She lives for attention, and Mordread is sure she's going to be the one to give him gray hair.

Dax: Well, Dax is a bird. A king fisher who is the guardian of Drowning, to be more specific. He's a touch unstable. Morgan thinks he's absolutely insane and out of his mind, completely weird, and will likely murder them all in his sleep. Truthfully, he's not that bad. He does have more sane moments then otherwise, but he tends to make completely out-there comments and switch attitudes fairly quick.

Gabriel: More outgoing than his twin sister (but not by much) Gabriel likes being the center of attention. As much as a baby can, he tries to do anything to be in the spotlight. He's generally not the happiest about his sister's possessiveness since he intends to, and really wants to, play with others BESIDES his sister. He adores her, yes, but she tends to be a bit clingy (a bit being the understatement of the year).

He seems to be very fond of staying inside, too, and is content with banging pots and pans, coloring on the floors and generally making a mess of things. He and Kayleigh are the babies of the family, literally.

Kayleigh: Not –quite- as outgoing as her brother, she's not exactly shy either. She's an explorer – loving to look into every nook and cranny. Even in sleep she's usually the one on top of the pile made up of her and her brother. In fact, Kayleigh just cannot sleep without her twin there beside her. They have separate cribs, but trying to put her in hers is like attempting to feed a shark vegetables. Highly possessive of him, the little girl thinks of him as "hers" and lets everyone know it.

Kayleigh likes to be mobile. From the moment she was able to so much as crawl, she's been zooming around like a little bullet. Her preference is being out of doors, being the more 'naturalist' of the two

Those that live with Patrick:

All though he and Patrick split, Mordread still thinks of his children as his own as well.

Katura: Part Two of Mordread's biological children and Morgans twin brother. The opposite of most of his siblings, he is a very caring, wild sort of boy who enjoys playing with clay and other art sorts of crafts. He is very fond of snuggling with his father, Patrick, and is just now getting to know Mordread.

Iamel: Three years old, at Teen stage of his life. Loud, snarky, rather serious. Horrendously tall with a taste that runs to colorful, tight fitted shirts and heavy boots. Mordread adores the boy, even if they hadn't gotten off on the right foot initially. He respects and admires his ability to be a caretaker, even as a child.

Yashima: Yashima, the kitsune in his teenager stage of life, is the one that Mordread was closest to when he was younger (though definitely not so much now). As a kit, Mordread would sit and read with him and cuddle him. He hasn't seen Yashima since he was a kid, but he thinks of him often.

Akuti: Mordread's little Aphrodite and the child of Patrick's that he's likely closest to in general. She's a sweetheart, and Mordread simply adores her. Recently, he saw her again, as a grown young woman, and he found himself to be in complete awe. He's proud of her, and loves her dearly.

Akilah: A meerkat anthro child who is in his late Child stage, Akilah is leaning towards the hippy strand of life and is interested in soccer, shiny things and harassing the hell out of his siblings, especially Iamel and Yashima. He does not like Mordread, and while Mordread loves him, the feeling is mutual in the liking category.

Kian: Another convict, he is in the Teen stage of his life. Kian used to be quiet and very serious and, as he's grown, he's become increasingly more emotional. This is partially bad as he was a former revolutionary leader and prone to violence when upset. Surprisingly enough, outside of Akuti, this is the only sibling that Rothe seems to have a kinship with, though Mordread never got to know him very well.

"I didn't need equipment to tell me that," Mordread grumbled under his breath as he looked at the letter on his desk. This did not please the cat, because it was the last thing the man really needed to hear. Huffing, he thought seriously about crumpling it and throwing it in the fireplace which wasn't too far from him - but something made him sit down and read over the form.

"I'm insane for even thinking of filling this out."

"What's that, dad?" came an overly cheerful voice from outside his bedroom door - which he'd left open.

"Just some form that I need to fill out," Mordread said smoothly, turning his head to look at his eldest daughter with a smile. "What're you up to, Morgan?"

The girl shrugged, reaching up and shoving a baseball cap over her pigtails, "Goin' to the park with Dax. Unless you need me to do something?" She'd done all the chores on the wheel, so she knew he didn't need anymore help around the house, but sometimes he was a little bit down and liked the company.

"No, I'm fine. Have lots of work to do. You go and have fun, but be back for dinner? I figure I'll order a pizza tonight."

That seemed to put a smile on Morgan's face, the child running up and giving him a hug and a peck on the cheek before zipping out of the room, the loud sound of the door slamming making Mordread flinch. They never did learn to close things gently.

Sighing, Mordread returned his attention to the form on his desk, reached out to grab a fountain pen out of the cup with various writing utensils, and began the tedious process of 'finding true love'. Yeah. Right.

"Rothe, you can put the dishes away tonight." The panther told his son, hands furiously scrubbing at some caked-on grime from the dishes that hadn't been properly cleaned. He really did have to teach Dax how to do the dishes properly - the problem with that was getting his son to sit still for longer than a few minutes.

"Don't think so, Cat," Rothe responded, setting the dishes he'd gathered up - all six of them - on the counter beside where his father washed, "Did my part. Have Morgan do it, or something. I have better things to do."

"Did you find a new way to torture innocent babies?" Mordread retorted, swiping the now clean dish under fresh water and setting it in the rack to the side.

"Nope, new way to torture fathers." He smiled, though it wasn't a real one, before reaching behind him and pulling a crumpled piece of paper out from his pocket, "This doesn't belong in the garbage, Cat."

"Of course it does." Another dish was being scrubbed now, perhaps a little harder than necessary, "I don't even know why I filled it out to begin with."

"Because deep down you know you're a pathetic little man and you need the help. You're sending it off in the mail tomorrow." It was spoken in that 'no nonsense' tone that somehow managed to always break his father down. Hopefully it didn't fail this time.

Mordread paused at cleaning his dish, setting it down and turning the running water off before rotating on a heel and staring at the boy who was, unfortunately, a good five inches taller than him. "Put it back in the trash, Rothe," he said softly, "I don't want to send it off."

Tsking, the blue skinned criminal smoothed the paper against the counter and began to fold it neatly, producing the pre-addressed envelope from the same pocket it had been removed from before putting it inside, bringing the flap to his lips, licking it, and sealing it. "Then I will."

"No."

Rothe laughed, "Excuse me?" Voice dropping to below freezing, the letter was tossed onto the newly cleared table where the younger children simply stared. This couldn't be good. "You have two choices the way I see it, Cat. I can drag you upstairs and into my room, tie you down, and beat the living s**t out of you...OR you can send the letter off, stop being a pathetic little p***y, and I'll babysit. Personally, I think the second option would sound more appealing to you but if I get to whip you, I'm all for it."

Morgan flinched, Dax didn't seem to notice, and Kayleigh and Gabriel were oblivious to what Rothe was even saying, though they did seem to sense it was bad. The Panther's reaction was to simply stare at the boy in front of him, taking a deep breath.

"I'll send the damn letter out."

"Good choice," Rothe said icily, "Now. Morgan, Dax, go do your homework."

Neither dared to do otherwise, each making their way up the stairs as quickly as possible.
