Do you like Mario/Zelda/Metroid games?
A lot?
Are you willing to play the same Mario/Zelda/Metroid game for a while until another one comes out?
Alternatively,do you have a bunch of friends who would be up to come over to your place and play some Smash Bros. or Wii Sports for a couple hours?

If you answered "No" to one or more of these questions you may want to reconsider getting a Nintendo Wii.*

*These statements may or may not be biased.Though I do own a Wii.It's okay. For about 2 days a week.

12 million consoles sold doesn't convince you? Even if you cut that number in half to minus the casual gamers, that still says a lot.

Popularity isn't everything. There are a lot of trendy idiots out there in the world.

It's seems like it's kind of like saying you should go out and buy Halo 3 just because it sold so well.

More like 21million+

Anyway.

The thing, so far with the Wii carries on with the trend of: You like Nintendo? Get the Wii.

Zelda, Mario, Brawl, Mario Kart and Metroid are ideal Nintendo games to grab.
The problem with the Wii so far is a lot of Shovelware making a large percentage of Wii games not worth the time or effort.

We shall not forget about DLC in the form of the Virtual Console and Wiiware.

But most of them might. blaugh

Joke apart, what I do to see if a console is worth it is:

-I check the console price
-I look at the games that interest me for the console
-I combine the price of all the games that I find good for the console
-I look at the features that I like of the console
-If the combined price of the games is higher or equal than console's, I qualify the console as worthy.
-If I am undecided, I take the features in consideration

Precisely.

Admittedly, I play my VC games a lot more than I do my Wii games. I'll support the Wii to the end, but I'm willing to pay for the VC titles. I like to show support. Sure, I could have more than easily emulated the games I've paid for, but yeah. That stimulates Nintendo into doing more with the virtual ware than just emulating the games on my PC.
