So, my dear guild mates, what do you think of random gifts? Do you take them all, only the non-anonymous or maybe none at all?
I myself am very suspicious of any gifts, since I'm afraid they might be botted. I don't take anonymous gifts at all. And if I get a gift, I always check the senders profile to learn something about him/her before deciding anything. Maybe I'm paranoid ninja or just extra carefull...
What do you think?

I know one thing is true! This goes out to anybody who was in the GCD in 05 when all the gift giving started around St.Patrick's day. It was the night of St.Patrick's and the GCD was empty for all but a few people when suddenly a thread popped up. "A mysterious gifter named V" or something like that. Turns out some mystery gifter had started a little game with 5 peeps in the forums (since they were the only ones on) the game lasted all night with this V person dropping hits as to who he was out of those five people (who might I add had never met before). Well after the game was over they all had lots of fun and went to be. Later that day the GCD exploded with random gifters and it seemed to be on the lips of every person in the GCD. A few topics started from it and a massive game of guess the gifters started. I was sent to the chatterbox the next day and started to die once that happened but it was all thanks to V who inspired the people in the game to gift and then that started an frenzy! Moral of the story is I was teh amazing V and gift giving randomly is awesome but it's better to do it unknown but now with all this hacker stuff you can't do it anymore. gonk crying

That's a cool story Zig :3 It reminds me of those "good old days" stories when it was safer to let your kids play in the neighborhood all day without having to worry about ***** and kidnappers.
Random gifting is a nice idea, but like it's been said, it's just too risky with all of the hacker/bots out there. Too bad there's no way of telling if an item's been hacked....
I only accept gifts from people I know. Then again, I guess internet "friends" could be botting items as well (goes super paranoid gonk )

At the last gaia anniversary, I joined a radom gift giving thread. I think i gave out 18 gifts some MC, some rubbishs. and i got a lot of great stuff back. It was alot of fun and alot of the people on the thread turned in to some on my closes friebds on gaia. later found out what they gave me.

I never get anything anyon that is of any fuss so I don't think I'll be get banned.
Otherwise, I think I have the feature turned off. xP A rude person once flamed me this way. ?

i've been in threads that've done it before . . . met a few people that way . . . we all gave hints as to who gave what . . . but in the end the whole i fear a gift because it's anon . . . well once it's been gifted it's been gifted . . . you've got it may as well use it . . . least that's my view . . .

Seems there's a bunch of people in the GCD who love to give anonymous gifts with wierd messages, like 'Scalded cat fears cold water!" But I don't mind anonymous gifts. If it's botted, well, I'll tell a mod of whatever that it wasn't my fault. No big.
On another note: Have you received the golden S award?
Actually, I think I only gave it to a few people on the GCD--none of which are here. Basically it's a reward for being awesome XD
