Hello and welcome to the tutorial duel between Drake and PadfootsPet!

Everything in the color red will be information pertaining to how I did this or why I did it. Anything in red also will not be needed to put in your own duels, it is just for helpful hints. This tutorial is used for getting everyone familar with the dueling process.

(I challenged PadfootsPet and she accepted, therefore I am responsible for posting the first user name vs user name thread.)

The dice I roll now is to figure out which one of us goes first in turn order.
Each participant is required to roll in every post he/she does.

We go back and forth until one of us runs out of points, then EACH notifies our captain that our duel is complete, and we have won (or lost). We're free to challenge or accept a challenge, and actually we can have several duels going on simultaneously with different people, just not more than one duel at a time with the same opponent.

Reason/ Story behind duel: I have high hopes that PadfootsPet has excellent skills, However, I still believe I am vastly superior. So I shall show her how superior I am.

I rolled higher then PadfootsPet, therefore I get to start the duel first.

Dueling posts are composed of 4 simple things to remember and 1 very very important thing to remember.

The most important:
Always remember to roll 1 20 sided dice before you hit submit in every post in a duel!

The other 4 simple things are:
Role Play
Action (Attack or Defense),
Effect of Spell
Dueling Points remaining.

Follow the examples in this duel to see how they are meant to be.

Role Play:
Hah! Just as I figured. I always go first! I wouldn't have it any other way. Lets see now, what should you get...?

Action:
(Attack) Hrm, Lets start out with this little number! Drake points his wand at PadfootsPet and shouts "Levis Vomica!" (Every spell must be colored in your houses color, That's why you see mine as green.)

Effect: Levis Vomica is a balding curse. The spell makes your hair rapidly fall out piece by piece until you are fully bald, and then grows back to original. Victim takes humility damage due to onlookers.

Dueling Points Left:
Current DP: 50/50

Before I finish casting my defensive charm Drake's hex hits me right in the head! Tears stream down my face as my long red hair falls out little by little. You are so gonna get it Drake!

Attack: Raises wand, with a tear forming in her eye and shouts Avalow!


Effect: Avalow causes snow to fall on your opponent woth the force of an avalanche.

DP: 48/50

As Drake's molten shields begin to form around his body, he loses his concentration when he sees a cute girl in the stands. The molten shield fails to form itself and a deep rumbling is heard. Lost the eyes of the girl in the stands, Drake snaps back to attention to look up and see a massive amount of snow slam into him. Flattened by the force of the blow, Drake suffers 8 points of damage!


Ouch! That really smarts! *Mutters about girls*

Drake begins to climb the huge pile of snow and gets to the top of the pile. He slides down the pile and his eyes open wide.

Hey! Nice spell, Let's see how you do with this one!

Attack: Drake points at the snow and starts to chant. He then points at Padfootspet and shouts "Nefandus Snowman!"

Effect: Nefandus Snowman means abominable snowman. The spell takes the snow left on the dueling floor and transforms it into a snowman who charges and hits the opponent!

DP: 42/50

It must have done something, because all the beast did was breathe his terrible breath in my face, causing me to lose 2 DP.

Now I told you I wouldn't forget that child comment you made!

Attack: PadfootsPet gives a little giggle, points her wand at Drake and says in a very level headed voice Infantille.

Effect: This hex turns the person on the receiving end of it into a baby, dressed in a diaper and onesie holding a rattle!


DP: 46/50

As Drake feels his body gaining strength against the attack, something goes very wrong! Slowly he begins to shrink and feel weaker and weaker. Suddenly in a big poof of smoke Drake sits on the dueling floor transformed into baby Drake holding an elegant snake rattle and in a Slytherin onesie screaming his head off.

In a sudden flash following the big smoke poof, he's suddenly returned to normal. Only to find out his pants are wet and soggy. He's soiled himself during his baby encounter. Embarrassed, he runs off stage and quickly changes into a new pair of pants and comes back. Surrounded by laughter, Drake suffers 7 points of humiliation damage.

Grr! I will never forgive you for that! I will have my revenge!! Hrm, I wonder how you will feel about this....

Attack: Drake concentrates hard on his next spell. His eyes open and are bright green slanted like snake eyes. He looks into Padfootspets eyes and shouts "Serpent's Obtutus!"

Effect: Serpent's Obtutus means Serpent's Gaze. The spell, if it hits puts the victim into a sleep like effect, where they dream but it seems like reality to them of what their life would be like if they were a Slytherin instead of in the normal house they were sorted into.

DP: 35/50

After casting Leo Supurbia PadfootsPet can not pull her gaze from Drake's eyes. There's something about the resemblance to the snake that is appealing to her. She stares forward, with heavy eyelids and appears lost in her own mind.
While in this dream-like state PadfootsPet realizes how nice it would be to have a common room in the dungeons. The appeal of a cold, dark commonroom lingers in her mind. She thinks about it and determines Regulus is quite handsome. It would be nice to be in the same house as him. After all, PadfootsPet is a pureblood. She is determined to succeed. She screams "Why was I put in Gryffindor!!!!!"

As she finishes her cry her countercurse seems to take effect. The first thing that jumps into her mind is her Sirius. What would he think if he had seen what she just thought? Then she realizes what cowards most Slytherins are! Why, who needs friends like those? Why would I want to be one of them? There's nothing like trusting your friends whole heartedly, and knowing they feel the same way. To know that your house has always got your back, no matter how dangerous the situation, is a comfort, and it is an honor to know that I am among them!

Her confidence begins to increase, but PadfootsPet loses ten DP for the heartache and uncertainty this has caused her.



Drake you'll pay for that one!


Attack: With the fiercest look Drake's ever seen in her eyes, PadfootsPet shouts "Occultus Nuto".

Effect: This curse will not only show the opponent his most troublesome doubts, but will make him feel as though he is living the possible betrayals they lead to.


DP:36/50

In the event of a tie - like so - it means both spells connect but neutralize each other and completely fizzle out. It simply counts as a block for the defending player, which is myself.

Drakes head glows a bright green color as Padfootspet's spell hits him head on! Both spells fizzle out and fade away.

Whew! That was a close call!! How much more punishment do I have to put you through before you quit!? bah!

Attack: Drake sharply raises his wand and forcefully shouts "Fervidus Votum!"

Effect: Fervidus Votum means Passionate Desire. The spell causes the person to tell their deepest, darkest love secrets to everyone in the room!
