I'm curious, can we duel members of our own house? Because there is a house counting-thing for number of duels won and lost, and dueling a member of our own house would only add one to both the wins and the losses...

Wotcher! I was wondering the same thing, turayza! Also, once we are registered, will our Head of House let us know we're challenged? Are do need to check back at the Wizard's Den ourselves?
Or does our opponent owl us?

You are more than welcome to duel someone in your own house!!!! The win/losses are broken up into house to simplify things, it won't hurt or help your house to challenge within.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to catch when those in our house are challenged. I can tell you that when I am able to I will notify those in my house, but as for the other captains... well some of us are online more than others. It's always a safe bet to check the wizard's den for yourself, just in case.
If you post a challenge, and feel like the person has missed it, feel free to owl them, but please don't harass your potential opponent by sending too many owls. (Not that I think any of you will.)

Dueling your own house is fine, I do my best to check and owl people if they've been challenged. So in case you get 2-3 owls from captains I do apologize. We're trying to maintain it as best as possible, a quick look is always recommended though.

Could we please change the Hufflepuff spell color to this??? Orange is just too hard to read, and yellow would be worse! Pretty please?

Well the orange is what is normally used but I don't see the harm in changing it to a darker color if it is readable. Out of these three what one do you find easier to read? Orange Dark Orange Gold
These are closer in keeping with the colors used by the Haven's Hufflepuff but if you really want that shade I will message acciofunds and lady healing hands to see if it can be used.

I think of the 3, Dark Orange is easiest to read. I suggested olive, because it is in the drop down menu. The other three houses can use the drop down menu, so I wanted us to also *pouts* And olive looks like gold. But we could use dark orange, just have to go back and add "dark" so we could use the drop down menu, with the extra step. I know we're not afraid of toil, but I'm not fond of it. Maybe I'm a slytherpuff or a huffleclaw...!

I posted a random number between 1 and 20 instead of rolling a 20 sided die in my first duel. Would that be acceptable do you think? Because it is still randomly generated without any other influence and there is still the same amount of probability involved.

Er...where do we go to post/report duel results? I'll just say it here (before I forget XP). KatieInTheBox (Gryffindor) won a duel against turayza (Ravenclaw).

To ghoul in Pajamas:
That is acceptable. Though you should roll, a randomly generated number between one and twenty has the same odds mathematically, so it counts.
To turayza:
We, the captains, will send Drake_Keiran, the Slytherin Captain, the match results and he will post the wins and losses up in the registry. Also the winner of the duel can message a captain with the results and we will make sure they get posted. Messaging us will insure the results are posted.
P.S. I am in Hufflepuff now. Long story short, I volunteered to be a Badger. Though I would say I am quite a bit of both. biggrin
