My book Xenon
The sound of the ship’s speakers blasts to my ears. “Xenon!!!........... battle…HELP!!!!!!.....” The personal computer indicates the transmission is lost. I am Xenon, a legend among the last true humanoid race in the universe. Let me bring you back to the beginning. I was just a regular recruit on the Dionosis S.P.F. (Special Protection Force). I was just doing regular target practice, when my instructor suddenly fell over! Being slightly trained in battlefield medication, I ran over and saw a scorch mark from a Splicer! I immediately ran for cover at the base.
When I got there I saw nothing wrong, so I went to the commander’s quarters. I told him what happened. “Oh my god! He was our best. Alright Xenon, it’s up to you to call a code blue. Just be careful.” I ran to the P.A. system, and said “Code Blue, I repeat, Code Blue!!” I ran to the hangar bay to get into my ship. I got into my ship, and rocketed out of there. Later, I got a live video feed from the commander. “You saved our skins out there Xenon. Everyone made it out alive thanks you. If there is any thing I could ever do for you, that wouldn’t be enough.” I had a felling I had to go to my home planet so I kicked in the hyper drive.
When I got to my house, my colanigious, what humans would call a pet was not in the house. I wondered where he was, so I looked outside. There he was!! My loyal cute little colanigious! But, as I was petting my colanigious, I felt like I was being watched. I turned around and saw an Optimized Video Device (O.V.D.). I picked it up and turned it on. What I saw I didn’t belive. I saw the legendary X. “Oh crap. He turned it on!!” Next I saw Quazon. Quazon is the captain of the Starship X. He has no legs, but the amazing medics that work for the X Force gave him a receptor that covered his torso with metal, but on the good side, he was able to float in the air at a certain height and speed. I said “271469?” and he said “245976?” You see, before I worked at the Dionosis S.P.F, I worked at a recruiting station where names were not needed, so they gave us numbers instead of names. Quazon and I were actually bunkmates when I was there. “Hey Xenon.” He said. I said “how do you know my name? Last time I saw you, you were I a medical bed chanting ‘must help 245976’ over and over.”
“Yeah, I was pretty messed up after they blew up my legs. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be here right now.”
“But I don’t know why they are still in business after they blew up your legs” I said.
“Why did they do that anyways?! Was it punishment for talking or something?” So I said “Really!”
Quazon said “The real reason the O.V.D. is at your place is because I need to ask you a very important question.”
“Yeah?”
“Have you ever heard of the X Force?”
“Yeah….My mom told me stories about them when I was a kid, why?”
“They are real. I want to ask you if you wanted to join.”
I laugh. “You’re kidding right? You gotta be kidding.” His face was as still as a stone.
I tell him, “The X Force was just a story to make little kids feel better when the robots invaded their towns. I should know, my mom told the story to me 5 times.”
“Your town got invaded 5 times?”
“No, I moved to a different planet every time my town got invaded. And to this day, I’ve been trying to figure out why.”
“So, you’re saying that if I could tell you, that you would join the X Force?”
