Where had his life gone?
Aiolos truged through the snowy terrain of the mountians, the snow drift he was climbing was almost grazing his stomach as the stallion sometimes needed to resort to bounding just to keep going through the blizzard. He shouldn't have gone out so far today with such a storm brewing in the early morning, but he'd been so curious to see the sights which lay dormant in his memories from foalhood. After being gone for so long; anything remotely close to his family was something he craved, god he missed them so. Mother, Father, Cicely...even his older siblings which he rarely got to see, and his friends.
It had been months since he'd left - sure, he'd seen the world and met so many new faces; it was an amazing experience. Yet the stallion couldn't help as if this whole trip he'd been missing out on something grand; to what that was yet he'd have to find out at some point. Right now though he was more concerned with getting to shelter with the snow pelting at his face and body at such an unkind speed.
"I swear it was just around here somewhere...." He squinted his eyes against the blizzard, looking for any signs of a darker cave like object. He felt jealous of his father's mane, it must have kept him warmer than Aiolos' did for him. The howling in his ears didn't help matters any more since he could almost hear nothing but the wind; yet he kept on trudging along...if he stayed out here for the night he'd surely be buried too deeply or die of hypothermia. He had to get to that cave.
Inhaling deeply despite the few frozen snowflakes which tickled as they began to melt; he could smell the faint scent of dirt and rocks against the winter terrain. Thus, he kept on moving in that direction....it was the only thing he knew which could possibly lead him closer to the cave seeing his sight and hearing were shot by the ruthless storm.
