I'm the bassist for my jazz band, and I played at the Lakeside Jazz Festival in Port Orange today. I bought a CD of my band, and guess what? They buttholes forgot to put a Mic in front of the bass amp, so you can't hear me play, and guess what else? I had a solo, so now, all you can hear is the piano tapping on the chords. emo They're all racist against bassists >.>

You were at Lakeside? Our jazz band went to that. They preformed on Friday though.
That sucks, especially since you bought the CD. But it happens. rolleyes

But it happens. rolleyes Which band were you with? I was with Millennium. I didn't go because I'm not in jazz band (there are too many tenor saxes in our band) but I go to South Lake. sweatdrop

Oh, our cello section actually has shirts that say "Racist against basses" Just because the basses are always throwing their cases around so none of us can get into the cello/bass room. XDD

that seriously sucks! they did that to me too at our jazz concert, but with the piano. they set the mic up but forgot to turn it on -_- it kinda ticks me off too cause they kicked me off bass so we'd have a pianist and no1 could hear me :/

Us basses do that too, our school, only it blocks the violins...... Who hate us! gonk The guy up top is totally right! I play the bass and in all of our music, I play like maybe 3 notes in Jazz and 1 note in Orch. All our teacher cares about, in Orch. is her precious violins, and in jazz her flutes! Now that I think about it, she hates almost everyone in the Bass Clef...... Weird confused

lol you have to get used to the fact that bassists are often thrown aside and shafted in bands.. i don't know why because bass is my favorite!

Ya, well, the cellos do it too where I'm from, so don't complain! You're not maneuvering an instrument bigger than you around and over cases! =P
