Winter had come and gone, and spring had since melted the rock ground and blinding snow. Even now, the drastic change was in some sense mystifying -birds flew and sang as if they'd never vanished from the lands for warmer climates, plants danced in the winds as graceful as their predecessors had ever been. The dark stallion grazing on sweet grasses was himself seemingly the only unchanged piece of the scenery. If one could call the dark mass apart of the green and lush scene, that is. Standing at the edge of the brilliantly lit meadow, he seemed to fade into the shadows of the leaf-infested forest. Even his bright blue socks were hidden by the tall grass, and with misty green eyes downcast and hidden by his eyelids, nothing about him stood out against the darkness around him.
Rather befitting, really, as his mood was just as threatening as the wood. His search for Taylor after their initial meeting had since been fruitless, a tiring fact that sapped him of laughter and gentlemanly smiles. Conversation? Ill advised, less someone is looking to have their head bitten off.
Which, really, was why he'd sought this meadow specifically. The two-legger he often visited had once remarked sweet grasses are perfect for lightening one's spirit. Sure she added other herbs to the mush she ground them into, but still, the concept was still the same for him here, right? Eat some sweet grass, feel better, and there -problem solved. Only... not.
"Cross that waterfall when you get to it," he grumbled to himself, the words muddled with his mouth half-full of grass. At least there wasn't anyone to point out his rude behavior...

She was chilled to the bone, her mane, tail and coat were still damp from the recent downpour that she'd chased hoping it would have turned into more, damn spring showers she thought with a snort and shake of her head. Beads and feathers clinking together with the movement of her head, a snort soon followed suit.
A sunny little spot was what she needed, along with something to munch on. She wasnt sure when she'd last stopped to eat for once, specially after a run in with the beast named Jason.
She shuddered slightly, stepping into the open meadow, ears perked her sky blue gaze fell onto the stallion that grazed.
Wonderful, she thought to herself as she continued forward. She looked a mess and was as hungry as any stallion...Wouldnt her mother be proud she thought with an eye roll.
Maybe he wouldnt see her? But she could use some conversation with another who wasnt a cloud.

His ears twitched at the sound of clinks and tinks. Beads? A snort, and his mind clicked. Another equine. He glanced up, head still down to continue eating as if nothing was amiss. Nothing. A small frown turned into a scowl when at first he couldn't spot the other being he'd heard. Shaking his head slightly -he must just be imagining things, that's all- he returned his full attention to the sweet grass and settling his mood to something more enjoyable.
Light hoovebeats made his form go ridged, swallowing his recent mouthful before raising his head. So he hadn't been imagining, after all. His gaze was hard as he watched her, taking note of her damp and ruffled appearance. It rained recently, had she been silly enough to not take shelter? Not that it was any of his business... damn curiosity.
"Unless you know of a way to brighten one's mood, I must request you keep your distance from me, ma'am. I'm in no temperament suitable for pleasant conversation."
He felt a twinge of guilt at his own words, the ever kind stallion that was his normal self especially displeased with his quick dismissal of the mare. In truth, at any other time he might chuckle and inquire about her appearance, or at the very least offer a warm greeting to a pleasant looking stranger. Both seem to be in bad fortune today, as it was though.

Audra flicked an ear at the others words, her head cocking to the side as she stared at him from under her grayish purple bangs. "You know, its better to change ones own mood than to have others do it for them, and become dependent on it." She gave a smile though.
"Im Audra..." She said with a bow of her head, she lifted it once more and eyed him slightly, very openly though she wasnt a shy mare in the least.
"You make me think of a storm cloud..All dark and rumbly.." She flickered an ear, her gaze shifted to the sky. "Im not known for taking shelter in the storm.." She shrugged, lowering her head she took a few nibbles at the silky greens.

He snorted, somehow soured further by her bold comment. "Did I demand you help me? No, I simply gave you a warning I'm far from the best mood -which, it seems, you've chosen to ignore." His tart tone made the hairs at his whithers bristle, more towards shock on his own part rather than to show further irritation.
Still though, even when angered, he could not fully forget his nature and briskly inclined his head with a cross expression. "Jaci." Simple, point, and not enough to make him tense again. That was good, very good. As if the foul mood was a horrible gas floating through his being, speaking seemed to give it chance to escape and leave him with a lightened feeling. Not enough yet to have him in a better mood, but perhaps...
Of course, if they were to have a conversation, he'd need to keep himself in check, now wouldn't he? There might be a slight problem there.
"Dark only in appearance," he said stiffly, shifting from hoof to hoof as he tried to get himself to relax some. "But hardly rumbly, unless you are prone to muttering to yourself and I've yet to see it." Of course, the question was if he meant that as light chatter, or was stating a blunt fact. Could be translated either way, really.
A bitter smile still came to him at her words. "You answered an unspoken question of mine, in truth. I'd been wondering why it was you were so wet. Why though, didn't you take shelter?" He took a half step forward, head cocked to the side in careful wonder. "Though, pardon me if I should ever seem to bold in my questions, I suppose I've never lost my curiosity as I grew."
