Chane closed the door to his room then flexed his arm a few times. It was a spare that he hadn't used for a while and it was taking some getting used to. Normally he would have given himself some extra time to work it out but Cyn had been phoning every five seconds all morning and he just needed to escape. His cell rang. He switched it off. There was only so much medical talk Chane could take before breakfast.

A washed out figure made her way down the hall, wings folded neatly behind her. She held her head high, one could almost say her nose was in the air. Ravyn was her name, and she wasn't fond of her surroundings, not at all. The Ancient was far more used to temples than apartment complexes. Sighing, she headed for the kitchen.

When he caught sight of the other avian's back and his heart skipped a beat. Black wings? "Raven?" he called without thinking.

At the sound of her name, she paused and turned to look over her shoulder. The person who had called her name wasn't someone she recognized, so she frowned. He did have wings however, which surprised her. "How do you know my name?"

Chane caught up with her, "Oh so you are Raven! Nice to meet you, my name is Chane," he held out his left hand. "I was talking to Sasha the other day and she mentioned a black winged avian in the building by the name of Raven. I honestly had no idea what you looked like. I just saw your wings and... well," he smiled, relived. She wasn't a full avian. Cyn couldn't care less about half breeds, so he won't bother me about it, even if he does find out!

(( *dies* That's so pleasant. xDDDD <3 Poor Sasha. ))
She blinked at his hand, wrinkling her nose, but she did take it, only briefly, but still. She wasn't sure she liked casually being mentioned. It wasn't very becoming. "I'm, er, pleased to meet you as well, Chane," she murmured, studying him with her dark gray eyes.

"I have a question for you. It's rather out of the blue and I apologize in advance for that, but I need to know. Can you fly, or at least glide?" It was a strange question indeed coming from an avian. His tone sounded sincere but any onlooker would wonder if the dappled pure blood might not be mocking Ravyn.
((Maybe he isn't looking for a date after all...))

(( *snorts* xDDD ))
She blinked at him, then a slow sneer made it's way across her face. "Yes, I can fly," she hissed, her voice hissing acid. "I have been flying long before you were born."

Chane glanced over her, she didn't look that old. "Would it be too much to ask you to show me how? To glide at least. I don't think I'll ever be able to fly-fly... and well... I've never been confidant enough to try gliding..." She was looking at him strangely, causing him to stammer though the last half of his request. "Please?"

She blinked again. "You.. are a pure Avian, and yet you cannot fly?" Disbelief was clearly on her face as she stared at him. "That is.. unacceptable." Turning back around from the kitchen, she headed towards the other end of the hall, where the elevator stood. "Come on, we are going to the roof."

He followed her, almost hesitantly, not sure if he really wanted to jump off the roof. "Uh," he stepped into the elevator, "I have a problem with my lungs and it can be difficult to change the pace of my breathing..." Saying that he felt a bit stupid for even asking. Most the time everything went fine, but it was unreliable. Cyn kept promising the next upgrade would be better, but if it was the improvements were too small to notice.

She listened, without really listening. Once the elevator had dinged to signal it had reached the roof, she made her way out, looking around. There was a large crate like thing there, though no one knew why. Without waiting for Chane, she leaped into the air and with a great flap of her wings, stepping onto the crate. "Come here, please." While the small female had said please, one could tell she wasn't really asking.

Chane took a step back and looked at the box, then up at Ravyn. Surely she didn't mean for him to try and fly up there! He took a few quick steps forward, then half jumped half scrambled to the top of the crate. "Okay. I'm up!"

She waited for him to pull himself up over the crate, then moved to the end. She had let her wings remain unfurled, and giving him a curt nod, spread them wide before she leaped off the crate, angling them properly so that the updraft would catch them and glide her a few feet. Once she had landed gracefully, she turned back to look at him expectantly.
