Basic Information
Player's Name: BP-chan Student's Full Name: Alexander M. Wainwright // Prefers to be called 'Al' or 'Alex' Student Information: Age: 15 Nationality: British Origin: Glasgow Personality: To sum it all up in a few words, he is a social butterfly, normally looked up by many for his looks, charisma and talents. He is charming and quite the conversationalist. But beneath those charms lies hidden motivations for his actions. So you may also call Al a social climber, though most of the time, he manages to do that unconsciously--because that's just the way he is.
Likes: Machines, inventions, staying up late, coffee (though it's not good for him, he drinks it when he gets the chance) Dislikes: Sitting in one place for a long period of time, being idle, spicy things, talking about his parents (more info in history post) Appearance:
HAIR; Short, spiky brown hair. His hair is almost always left unruly because he has a habit of messing up his hair while focusing on a particular thing. [shorter and a little neater than in the picture] 8D;
EYES AND SKIN; He has warm brown eyes which compliments his light colored skin, he also has a light pink blush on his cheeks that never seem to face away.
Clothing: His style of clothing is usually neat, and polished since he is used to being groomed by other people, and having expensive and tailored clothing. Wears mostly long collared shirts which sleeves are neatly folded. Does not tuck in his shirts though. Dark jeans.
Ideas for Pose/Expression; Smiling lopsidedly, almost smirking but still has a cool, relaxed face.
Arms crossed, Both hands in pockets, ----just really, any pose that shows his personality as being laid-back and confident.
---artistic freedom for everything = yes.
Other Notes: He has a Scottish accent since he was born in Glasgow. but his parents are both British.

Backstory
History:
From the day he was born, Alexander Meyer Wainwright was a privileged boy. As a child of very wealthy business tycoons, he was set for great and ambitious things even just a few seconds after he had entered into the world. He cried louder than the other babies being born in that hospital that day, and that showed that even as a baby, he already wanted to stand out from the rest.
As he grew older, Al's parents were engrossed in their work, leaving very little time to bond with him. But the boy, instead of being angsty and emotional over that fact, wanted to prove to his parents that even without them he could stand on his own two feet and excel at everything. In his prestigious and exclusive school, he did just that. But that still did not gain much attention from his parents, so he kept on burying his nose in books, acing tests and developing his other skills. He still hoped that maybe some day, they would notice.
One fateful day he came upon his father's library and the first thing that caught his eye was oddly enough, a book entitled "The Book of Inventions". What attracted him to that book was the colors on the cover, but as he opened the pages, there were pictures of huge machines and smaller inventions and that was when this new exciting world was opened up to him. In his free time, he kept himself in his room making small, peculiar and unconventional inventions. Of course he failed to make functional ones at the start, then his hobby eventually became more of an addiction. His small inventions grew to larger proportions and since his family had the money, he had unlimited funds. And those cold slabs of metal and the long dark wires were the ones which comforted him when he was down, and in a way replacing the warm embrace of a parent.
In school, he still excelled, but at this point it was with very little effort. He actually excelled in subjects like Physics, Mathematics and other analytical topics but failed in the more 'creative' subjects. It did not matter to him though, at this point he only cared to build things. As time passed, he became a charming, cunning fellow and swayed all the teachers and students to his side, he was well respected in his school. (still to get his parents' attention) Sure he made some enemies here and there but that did not faze him at all. He got some recognition from his parents but it still wasn't enough to make up for the past.
At the age of 12, his parents decided to send him to the house of his uncle who was married with 3 children. They did this in hopes of making him have a more happy environment since they would be staying in the United States for a few months. He obliged. He did not have any choice anyway.
The couple's children were all girls, aged 3, 5 and 8--all younger than him. This did not help him at all as he yearned to get back home to his precious inventions. Though, he just had to wait for a few months, right? But months turned into two years, and he had heard no news about his parents, even during the terrible Alien war had started. Maybe his uncle and aunt had mentioned to him that they sent some gifts or money, but he just did not mind it, he became passive in relation to things that had to do with his parents, you may say he grew to be a bitter child but he wont admit to that.
During the alien war his uncle and his wife assured him of the highest form of safety ever possible--and this, they said, was because of his parents money, influence and power. ---But he never thought they did it out of love, it was just a necessity for them to protect their own child. Sure, he grew frightened from the news about the wars and the incidents and somehow it sparked great interest in him, it excited him. So far his life had been cooped up in the four corners of the room. But..if he could do something for this war it would mean recognition, fame and a self-victory in his case. But that was just wishful thinking.. after all, what can a child do?
As the days dragged on by, his uncle was surprised to see a letter from Al's parents, who said that they had sent an application for him to some school named Shinkami School of Saviors. And as always, Al obliged.

RP Sample:
Alexander was bored. Bored stiff. He sat there in the classroom watching the professor read some text from the large dark-colored textbook which he carried with his two hands with an air of sophistication. The man struggled a little since the said book was too large and heavy in contrast to his thin pale arms. Slowly, the teacher's lips moved, Al tried to follow but was somehow lost in translation as his head rested on his hand. He blinked a little as he tried to stay awake. And in another attepmt to wake up from this classroom nightmare, he rubbed his eyes and could feel the deep bags underneath. Maybe he shouldn't have worked on that new project of his too much for he had stayed up yesterday until the wee hours of the night--- no, actually morning--to work on the project.
His expression changed from gloomy to a comfortable and proud grin as he slipped into daydreaming about his new ideas for machines he could make.
Suddenly, a loud ringing sound echoed from the halls (dunno if there are bells, but whatever... XD) which made his heart jump from his chest a split second but following that, a wave of relief came over him as he knew he had no more classes that day. And that left him free to go back to his dorm room.
But maybe it was time to socialize more with the people? He knew he had to do that sometime, though to socialize was a very easy thing to do for him. He could have the class in the palm of his hand in a few days of charming them. But, he had forgotten for a moment that this wasn't a normal school, this place was unlike anything he had experienced before. A small smile appeared on his face, he liked challenges. And maybe someone here could prove to be useful to him, you never know.

Save the world?
Saving the human race ---Al can help with attaining that goal, yes. But it does not mean that is on the top of his list. He's not a sincere young boy (though he attempts to be) So when he helps, it's more of gaining recognition and proving his skills to other people, and even to himself, that he deserves the attention and all the praises.
Maybe his outlook will change. But that all lies on what he will experience in the school.

Hah, I know a certain teacher who had similar problems with their parents... ninja
First, THANK YOU FOR LETTING US CALL HIM AL. Two Alex's is already making my skull bleed. 8D
Second, I like the personality. It'll be nice to have someone who isn't 100% altruistic and have a hero-complex...or who isn't completely emosocks and anti-social.
Third, I think he'll like our school, since there's no teachers to teach. It's all self done. ;3 In theory, he doesn't have to be friendly with anyone, although I would prefer if any anti-social inclinations are kept to a minimum. While I understand it is a personality trait, it DOES make it difficult for RP. X3 Because he's made up for that by being a 'social butterfly' and a social climber, I think you've solved that issue nicely.
As long as he doesn't go around building helicopters or such things ( ;D ), I approve Al for entry.

I agree with chrys on the personality aspect. As soon as I saw the personality I got really excited about it. XD It feels like...OMG this is one guy that's unique from others but not extreme to realistic. I think the personality's very well done, and I'm looking forward to how he grows. :3
There is a little thing before I approve the entry though, and you can fix/add it when you get back. I get from the history that the boy is from a wealthy family....but even then, I'd like to see some mentioning of the influence of the Alien War on Al's family and Al, just so that he fits into this world.
Other than that, chrys pretty much said everything. A very good job on the concept, and I'm looking forward to seeing Al in the school in the near future. :3
(oh yeah, and woot for getting someone who's into the "technology" part of the school >w< )

lol. XD I had a dilemma when I saw that there was an Alexander and Alex. I debated on changing his name but, GRR. AL FTW.
Thank you guys, I really like his personality as well. It's really how I imagined him (he was made in SIMS2 8D ) so i'm really, really glad you guys like it too, seriously.
He's not really anti-social AT ALL. He just wants a lot of time with his inventions and machines and somewhat prefers them to people. Though, socializing to him is like a game of some sort, and he likes games. ;D
okasan, yeah. I'll add that sooner or later. I knew I lacked some information that that, because I was somewhat not sure even if I read the front page like a zillion times 8D I'm afraid of getting something wrong. But, yes I will definitely add information on that!
TwT I'm happy you think that it's a good concept. *giddy*
Hahaha I know, i noticed that as well, the people here are more on the magic side. Personally, I think it would be fun and different to be in the technology part, since I always play stuff with magic and stuff. :'d
I also look forward to getting to play Al someday here in the future. I HOPE THAT'S SOON 8D <3
