 It was a crisp clear spring night as a black shadow cast itself on the ground. High above the Soquili lands a lone ebony kalona flew like the angel of death her wings stretched wide as starlight streamed through them. A mane like a blue inferno whipped away from her neck, trailing across her small back and filling a small face of air behind her.
A grumble deep within her stomach made the kalona mare snort and bang hard snapping her wings closed against her side she flew towards the unforgiving ground like a missile of flesh and bone. A few feet above the ground she banked up her wings snapping open with a loud pop. Her hooves dug into the earth as she skidded to slow herself down.
After leaving quiet a trail of torn earth she came to a halt and straightened up folding her wings casually and fixing her mane with a toss of her small head.
The chain between twin horns that protruded from her forehead jingled alluringly.
Stepping almost daintily forward she started singing an eerie song as she traveled along searching for her prey.

 The spring night was quiet as the lone feather winged mare wandered the lands. Her hooves pounded the grass into the dirt with each step she took. The wings upon her back were folded in tightly to her sides with no interest in using them any time soon. There was no way she would consider herself a 'sky dancer' such as her family claims to be. As the thoughts of her family penetrated her mind she couldn't help but snort in disgust.
A loud sound interrupted the mare's thoughts and she quickly looked in the direction of the sound. It was quite a ways away but as she stood there watching the dark the sound of singing soon reached her ears. It sounded awful! So her ears pinned themselves to her head as she waited for the singer to come near. "Hey! Why don't you be quiet!? Others are trying to enjoy the peace of the night and would rather not hear racket like that!" she called out into the night knowing full well her yells could be hear a distance away.

Shade's ears twitched lazily around till she detected from which direction the yelling originated. Her singing continued, her almost masculine German accented voice carrying it's eerie tune back to Nave's ears still. Once she was close enough to take in the winged mare her lips curled back off her fangs in a malicious grin.
"And why ever should I care whom is trying to relax?" She moved towards the wind mare pearly fangs still bared in her crazy grin. The moonlight dance across her coat and horns, her spaded tail flicked behind her sheering off blades of grass.
Muscles like coiled vipers rippled under the velvety coat already tensing up storing the energy Shade needed to take the other mare down.
"Besides, my song worked like a charm, you opened that canyon of yours and lead me right to you poppet."

"Maybe you shouldn't care about who is trying to relax. I though am trying to relax and with that you should care." The mare's voice was giving off a tone of annoyance as she spoke to this horrible singer. "My mouth? A canyon?" Neva couldn't help but laugh sarcastically at that. "At least I wasn't trying to dig one out with bad landing skills."
Neva eyed the mare noticing that this was a type she had never run into before. Alas once again it wasn't small enough to be squished. That was her new solution to everything. "So why don't you go take your pearly whites, bad landing skills, and atrocious singing somewhere else? Go on. Shoo." She stretched her wings out and flapped them gently in a 'shooing motion' a few seconds before pulling them back into her sides.

"Oh my, your attempt at comebacks are horrid" she turned suddenly starting a circle around Nave eying the mare up and down noting her muscle mass, size, and health. The mare would fight back, but that would only make it far more fun for Shade. Her wings snapped open the black semi-transparent sparkling black leather allowing a hazy outline of the world behind them to show through.
She chuckled her crazed eyes rolling back for a moment then forward again "you poppet are dumb as a sack of bricks." Shade launched very suddenly bridging the gap with the speed of a striking viper. Her vicious fangs sought the other's mare's exposed jugular while her sharp cloven hooves sought the tender flesh of Nave's legs.

Dumb! What the! Oh that mare was going to get it! All those thoughts flew through her mind in mere milliseconds and her body automatically went to ready her aim on the mare when out of nowheres it's hooves struck her legs and fangs piercing her. A piercing whinny of pain and madness left her mouth as she swung around to aim for the transparent winged mare. She may have no horn but her hooves weren't there for nothing. "My comebacks are horrid?! Let's see you come up with some!" she screamed as she spread her wings and kicked her hooves out aiming for any flesh and bone target on the mare.

The small taste of blood she received from the bite alerted every nerve in Shade's body, letting out a delighted growl she moved to attack again. She grunted when hooves pounded into her chest, a hiss echoed from her throat and she stepped back.
A loud harsh cackle escaped her throat and Shade launched forward again "you'll have to do better than that girl." This time those wicked twin horns protruding from Shade's forehead was lowered towards Neva as she attacked the smaller bird winged mare. Reflexively Shade's leather wings folded down tight to protect themselves from as much damage as they could.

"Why don't you try better demon!" Neva yelled as she moved over to one side hoping to avoid the horns on the mare's head. She knew that she'll at least get scraped by them but at least it wouldn't be a full own piercing. Once again she kicked out her hooves hoping once again they hit a target. This was one fight she was unwilling to back down from and there was no way she was going to be brought down but this horned and fanged mare.

Neva's kick collided with Shade's knee and caused an angry hiss to escape her clenched jaws. The hit caused Shade to make the smallest falter, but that had only been enough to make her step to the side before she whipped around a crazy gleam in her softly glowing bi-colored eyes.
"Little tramp," her scowl slowly became a malicious grin as she moved towards her prey once more. Suddenly she leapt hooves, fangs, and horns ready to strike and tear at any piece of flesh she could get.

Neva snorted in irritation at the fact she only managed to hit the demon's knee. "Why don't you go find some easier prey! Maybe one your own size!" The mare yelled as once again she moved off to the side hoping to again to narrowly miss the sharp hooves, fangs, and horns. It was a disadvantage to not having a horn to charge with. She once again kicked out her hooves hoping to hit another sensitive target without getting marked up herself.

Shade's leapt right pst the little mare, but she snapped her wings open, maybe the sharp feathers or spines growing from them would slice into the mare's sides. It was worth a try anyway. At the same tme her spadded tail was thrashing at Neva's face.
"Why? And leave you to be taken by another raven blessed? Noo, I always finish what I start filly."
She tosse dher long mane and moved back towards Neva head down body weaving like a slithering snake
"C'mon feather head, you can do better than this can't you? I haven't even warmed up yet." Her smile was mocking and cruel as she kept up her slow stalk towards Neva.

Neva's sides were soon scratched by the wings of the demon mare. "I am no filly you stupid mare." The feather winged mare snorted as she backed up away from the kalona. She had no fear of losing but she was not ready to die. Her revenge on her family was not to be her death. Not yet anyways.
"Me do better? But I am just a small little mare. So poor and defenseless." Neva said as she continued to back up, keeping the distance between them a little ways apart. "Perhaps I should be the one asking if you can do better than this."

Shade snorted and laughed crazily, a sound like sharp nails being drug across a chalkboard. She continued to advance even as Neva backed up her body weaving like a snake.
"You are a filly compared to me feather head so get used to it."
She just laughed again at the mare's next words and continued her advance "it's no fun to kill quickly, you have to draw it out .. make lessers like you suffer."
She bared her fangs in a sadistic smile as she continued to stalk Neva, just waiting for the right moment to strike.

"You are right in saying it is no fun to kill quickly. I've yet to learn the art of killing but I have yet to find a teacher to teach me." Neva said with a nod but continued to back up away from the kalona. Perhaps maybe if they shared an interest she could get away with just a few more scratches and her life. "Besides I know of a family that I'm sure you'd love to have some fun with. They think they are much better then the kalonas. They do not fear the kalonas." The winged mare was hoping that now if she kept talking she could turn the tables and once more keep her life. The thing that kept her from wanting to die is that she still had the revenge on her family to do.
