I found a great program thanks to someone else's post (sorry I forgot your user name!) and I want to join it the semester or year program. But I have a few question(s): Has anyone here been in the program? And also, my parents are concerned for my safety if I do go, how can I ease their minds? Thank you! heart

Ohh, I got a reccomendation for that program today by my school counciler! I've only peeked around their website - afs.org, for all your other guildmembers - and am honestly a bit confused, but they seem well-reccomeneded. Can't say much, though, but I'd also like to hear some feedback on them. Easing your parents minds... get good background on the program, answer all their questions (extensive research), be responible (brush your teeth well, keep your room clean, do your homework, etc. xD), and such. Be very foward and focused, too.

Oh! I think that was me I'm on the year program right now, in Osaka smile My parents were really worried too, but since you have 24 hour support and a year round councilor that calls and checks up on you, you can always get help if something is wrong. Also, the crime rate in Japan is crazy low; the only thing I really worry about is getting lost smile I eased my parents minds by letting them talk to my local AFS representative and taking them to some of the orientations. My dad was really worried, but he's okay now. Feel free to PM me!
