The flask was then cooled in an ice bath for 5 minutes, and the crystals were then filtered off by suction. The product was then recrystallised from boiling ethanol, and then allowed to cool to room temperature. It was then again placed in an ice bath for 5 minutes, and the crystals were then collected by suction filtration. The product was then dried in a vacuum desiccator for approximately 30 minutes, weighed and he melting point was determined. An IR spectrum was also taken of the product as a Nujol mull.
