As many of you may or may not know
the attacks of 4chans against Gaia has been strong lately

As well, there were alot of previous bans on Gaia
that have put many Gaians into a panic or shock

As your Vice Captain I thought it was my place to warn you
just because we are in this guild does not make us immune
to the evil deeds of others who roam this website

Belgium Mouse was crusing around some of the forums on 4chan
and saw something alarming that he thought I should know since
he wanted to make sure he could help the guild stay safe

Please take these precautions into extra consideration:

#1. Gaia already warms you a billion times so I'm gonna say it again
DON'T EVER... EVER GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD!
A GAIA ADMIN/DEVELOPER/MOD/DESIGNER OR
ANOTHER MEMBER OF STAFF WILL NOT ASK YOU FOR IT
Whether it's by a PM or an email, do not give it out!!

#2. If you know people IRL who know you're on Gaia and
you may not be on good terms with them, please be careful
not to give away any info that could lead to the guessing of
your password. Class mates and co-workers as well

#3. If you feel a little unsafe then change your password now
do it for all your accounts if you have too or feel you need too.
Just make sure it's long or full of numbers (not easy numbers like 007)

#4. If you decide to change passwords make sure that all of them
(whether for Gaia, FaceBook, MySpace, Live Journal, Email, etc...)
are different in some way. Sometimes they try those to get into others.

#5. Spread the word, tell your friends what I've shared
with you. And tell them to pass the info on and on.

So please, I ask you,
if you don't already do this
now is the time to do so

Fight against those who wish to harm you!
Be aware and smarter about who you share info with!
And more of all, please stay safe my friends

Although I really feel we don't need to worry for a massive hack, it's good to have some precaution.

And Death, I'm not saying the whole guild would go under at once
but if one is attacked they might go after that person's friends too
And we're all pretty much each others friend in someway

I think i'd be more worried of a myspace account being hacked instead of Gaia. ^^;

I'm just going to say now (And PLEASE don't get mad at me), and I think a few other members of the guilt will agree with me, that just because people are being hacked, DOESN'T mean it is the doing of 4chan. There's over 200000 people on this site. I'm sure at least a hundred are being hacked as we speak. We can fear hackers, but honestly, 4chan didn't want much to do with Gaia anyway. Gaia cannot be raided. It is a rule.

The reason that members of these sites are coming now? Gaia copied their memes! LONGCAT IS A MEME! SO IS TACGNOL AND RAIL CAT AND CEILING CAT!
Orly owls have been around for ages too. As soon as you see EFG, you know Gaia's crossed the line.

I remember lurking /b/ and seeing them get miffed about longcat becoming a gaia item.

There are still plenty other _chan's out there too, with hackers and ***** and s**t like that.

And yes, to clear myself, YES, i'm a /b/tard. Been there quite a while actually. I was corrupted by my friends. But I DO NOT HACK! I am not a ***** or an a*****e, and YES, people who post CP DO get banned. Yes, I protest $cientology. Yes, I have a Guy Fawkes mask and I got my picture with Dr4G0nk1d because he goes to my school and I can lol about it all the time.

So I'll simply summarize it now. You have NO MORE TO FEAR THAN YOU DID! Anon was ALWAYS on Gaia. Yes, be careful, but you should've been just as careful before. The internet is a series of tubes, and it is a very dangerous place to be.

Seddy, I only mentioned 4chan because of the info Mouse gave me
He found out something someone planned doing to a friend of mine
on Gaia and said that they were going to attack their friends too
And since most of us here are on each others lists, I wanted everyone
to know what was going on and to be careful.

Also if you go to the GCD as much as Eikou and I do
there have been many recent attacks on people as well
as the img bots who are making it impossible to post any
img from outside Gaia that's not photobucket.
(I was the victim of an img bot last month in a topic I made in GCD)

So I'm not saying 4chan is the blame but alot of bad things come from there
Whether they like it or not, 4chan is known for being a hub for the type
of people you described yourself not to be. I'm not saying you are that type
but that there are many who call that site home that are assholes and the like.

And while I know that people should be more careful about their accts
before I posted this topic, I wanted this guild to know that I take these
recent attacks to heart. I want to make sure that we're all on the same
page when it comes to being careful and making sure our friends are
just as careful. I respect your opinion but I'm also just letting you know
on where I stand as captain of a large guild like the APG.
