Flaming paws beat the gound in a loose, distance-devouring trot, the owner's tongue lolling happily. It sure was a nice day, and a nice day to be out and about, away from the drap Graveyard with its moody denizens.
Bluu laughed softly, feeling so good she just couldn't contain herself. A bright white mane and tail bounced with her trotting, little puffs of dust raised with every slap of her paws to the game trail she followed. Her nose could smell water up ahead, probably where the trail led for obvious reasons. At the rate she was going, it wasn't long before she emerged from the waving golden grass to the banks of a little watering hole, not even slowing her pace till she was belly deep in the water.
"Just what I wanted." She laughed as she dunked her head, then tossed it back, the droplets of water sparkling as they flew in all directions.

Kitty's paws didn't seem to bounce the way Bluu's did. He was in a sour mood, and for all the moaning and moping he was doing; you would think he was dying. There could have been a few reasons, but I guess the real cause of his surliness rested in the mind of Kitty. His eyes stared at the ground, as if he could tear it in half with his mind if he really tried hard. He focused in on a patch of dirt, his brow wrinkling almost like he really did expect it to tear in half. The fact it did nothing but stare back only upset him more, so the cranky hyena pounded it with his paw, and angrily stormed off.
"No good lousy...how dare he cheat me out of my cut!" Kitty grumbled, making sure to keep his voice low. He didn't like talking about business too loud, the savannah had ears, you know. Of course, it was just his luck to happen about another attractive, if he did say so himself, hyena on the day he was in no mood to socialize. Kitty tried to straighten up and put on his social, flirty face, but all that did was turn his frown into and awkward smile. Strolling casually up to the female and preparing his witty opening line, Kitty suddenly felt dozens of droplets splash in his face.
"What was that for?!?" He found himself shouting, by accident of course, as he stumbled back and shook his head.

"Eh? Wha's tha?" Bluu called back as she shook her head to clear the water from her eyes, her white 'mane' clinging to her face and neck. She blinked pale blue eyes back over her shoulder at what appeared to be a male, and a fiery one at that. A smile pulled at her maw as she laughed and turned to face him, shaking her head again to get the mane out of her face.
"Heh, sorry 'bout that! I didn't see ya there, or I'dve been more careful." She chuckled as her white tail wagged against her haunches, her expression open and full of good nature. There was little that got to Bluu, if truth be known. "Hope I didn't get ya too wet. Sometimes I don't know my own strength, really."
How amusing! She didn't normal miss the approach of another creature, let alone douse them with water on accident. The situation was rather funny, actually.

Kitty mumbled something under his breath, and shook his face clear of any remaining water. If there was one thing he hated, it was getting wet. Especially getting his face wet. Angry as he might be, Kitty had enough manners to know not to yell at poor Bluu. It had only been an accident, anyways. He turned back around to face the female and shrugged.
"It's no big deal. When you've swam all over the world and stuff, the water stop bothering you." He smiled. This is usually where things start to go wrong. No one likes to admit they are compulsive liars, and Kitty was no exception. He didn't even know why he did it! Just the way he reacted to new situations, he guessed. Either way, the hyena didn't enjoy lying. In fact, he was usually always caught.
"Yeah, but my eyes are very sensitive, and I used to swim so much the water burns them. But enough about me, what’s your name sweetie?"

Bluu blinked for a moment as she contimplated his words. All over the world? Did that mean he was some sort of fish-hyena? But now his eyes were sensitive to water... Did that mean he had to keep his eyes shut when he was out in the rain, lest they hurt them?
The questions brought a chuckle to the blue female as she shook her head, gently swinging side to side as she brushed those thoughts away. It wasn't important.
"My name? Well, I'm known most times as Bluu. Fitting, yeah?" She chuckled as she came from the water, dripping a wet trail as she moved (hopefully) far enough away that she could shake off and not get the stranger wet again. The dousing had manages to rinse off most of the dirt that seemed to cling to her, leaving her coat the vibrant blue and her mane the shining white it naturally was. "My mother either had a sense of humor, or was just very uncreative with names." Bluu tossed back as she finished shaking off the water. She turned when she was done to face him and plopped her backside on the grass.
"What's your name then? Something that doesn't mean 'fire' I would hope." She laughed at that idea as she glanced over his markings pointedly.

Kitty chuckled lightly. Bluu was rather fitting, now wasn't it? Slowly, he took a step back. Still wary of this stranger and the way she flung water around.
"Bluu is a lovely name." He cooed, smiling sincerely. "I'm Kitty, or that's what I go by. My real names Kito, ugly isn't it? My mother was just bad with names." In truth, Kitty had never met his mother, and gave himself the awful name, only realizing later how much he hated it. She was gone within days of Kitty and his siblings being born. A hyena from a pack near by had graciously taken them in, but Kitty was the only surviving pup. He felt bad for the poor soul that had brought him home, he was a wretched child and did everything in his power to cause trouble. When he got older, Kitty's shenanigans would no longer be tolerated. He was banished, but this loner life suited him better anyway.
"I don't think it means fire though." He admitted quietly, taking a seat in front of Bluu. "Anyway, what's a lovely lady like yourself doing here?"

If there was anyone that took a creature at face value, it was Bluu. If someone said they were something, then they were, until such time as they proved themselves wrong... and it usually didn't bother her much anyway.
"Kitty, eh? Not bad, not bad. A name is just a name, something to call someone when you want to get their attention, doesn't much matter what it is." She chuckled, her little white tail waggling back and forth. She watched as he seated himself in front of her, her head tilting to the side as her tongue lolled a little from her mouth. Lovely lady, eh? Working his flirt, it looked like to her.
"Well, first off, washing off some of the dust of the earth. Long travel builds it up, you know, till a girl just wants to drop a few pounds of it." Amusing analogy, really. She hadn't been that dusty, but it had certainly felt wonderful to wash away the dust. "Other than that? Just following my nose, seeing new places, meeting new people."
