Howdy, everyone. Just picked up STH #187, last night. As the thread title warning suggests, I have a quick spoiler for those possibly interested in one. I will post it in white text. This way, you can't see it right off the bat. You'll have to highlight the text with your mouse to read it.
The following dialog begins on page 8 of Sonic The Hedgehog #187, between Sonic and Sally, just along the outskirts of the ruins of Knothole Village.
Sally: *overlooking the ruins* I still can't believe Knothole is gone. It's one thing to let go, but to even accept it...
Sonic: *looking rather impatient and disgruntled* It eats at me, too, Sal. I still feel like I should've been able to do more.
Sally: You saved us all from certain doom. Isn't that enough?
Sonic: *shrugging* Maybe for most folks. I'm used to saving your tail.
Sally: *smirking* Har har.
Sonic: *helping Sally up on top of a large rock formation* So why'd you want me out here? Get lonely on memory lane?
Sally: *climbing to the top of the rock* Yes, honestly. I just don't feel right being in the Great Forest without the rest of the Freedom Fighters. *sits on top of the rock, running her fingers through her hair* We were just kids then, fighting a grown-up's war. But it never felt too big when we could come back here. To home.
Sonic: *hand to chin, in a thoughtful posture* Yeah. Hard to believe all the stuff we've overcome since the days of the old hide-out. *jumps off the rock formation, to the ground, a short distance below* Which, ironically, is the only thing left standing.
Sally: *standing up, with hands to hips* You're right, though. The Freedom Fighters have seen so many changes. *performs an acrobatic movement off the rock, down to the ground where Sonic is* I wish I could say I made the transition smoothly.
Sonic: *shrugging his shoulders* We all went through some heavy stuff, Sal. Nobody blames you.
Sally: *holding Sonic's hand, and looking a little shy and nervous* Not even for my... outburst... during your homecoming celebration?
Sonic: *smirking a bit* Oh, come on, Sally. All you did was break my heart. I got over it!
Sally: *raising her voice a bit* SONIC!
Sonic: *seeming to lean in for a kiss?* Seriously, Sal. We're cool. We're still friends.
Sally: *seeming to also lean in for a kiss?* Good. I'm glad to have you as a friend. And maybe we...? *suddenly a bomb lands in Sonic and Sally's hands*. A BOMB!
Sonic: I swear, the timing of these things... *throws the bomb into the air behind him, where it explodes, dealing no harm to Sonic or Sally*
*enter following scene and dialogues...*
What do you think? Could Sonic and Sally possibly be coupling up, once more?

Yeah, it certainly seemed that way to me. I was so waiting for that moment and then they go and throw that cliche in to make a cliffhanger.

If life won't wait... Haha, figured something like that would happen. C'mon, it's Archie, who else would they put Sonic with? ...I guess it's up to me.
