Okay so i have a lot of problems when i'm making dolls. One is attaching the head...

I can't get it to look right at ALL and i was wondering if there's some special technique or something that you can do to make it look like an actual head/neck/body or ... yeah.

Other things i have trouble with: the body and the ... well when you turn things inside out?

Also: What kind of stitch do you use? I used a running stitch but i think that looks too ... Mmn... i dunno. That and my stitches are kinda wild seeing as i hand stitch everything at the moment and haven't gotten better.

^The doll :3 Her name is Mary Onette - and she's part of this story i did a long long time ago (like when i was 12, i'm 20 now) called "DSTS: Dark side of the Toy Store." -- She's also my first felt doll!

Anyway. The scarf is cover up the fact that i can't sew:

are you attaching the head/limbs after you've sewn the 2 sides of the body together and/or stuffed it?

well..not sure what you're using as head and arms, but if they're front and back that you're sewing together, you'd likely find it MUCH easier to sew all the front/back pieces (head to body to arms to legs) together first, then join front to back leaving a space in the leg or head or something for stuffing (yes it'd be inside out when you put them together, but it's easy to turn back...use a spoon or something to poke the limbs if you need to)

that wouls be much easier. another thing. if your hand stitching is messy, then use colorful thread to make the most of it- like it's on purpose 3nodding

I've read that using the hidden stitch is very useful when attaching a head to a body. : ] I haven't tried it yet myself, as I need to make clothes for my plushies before I attempt to attach the head, but other plushers use it. 3nodding

i love that doll smile
and i have made squids before and found that if i attached the tentacles first, before stuffing, it would make it so much easier!
