Paroparo had to admit he was nervous....bridging on being terrified. This was a bad idea, why had he agreed to meet with this person? Did the man...Carys...know he was meeting with another man? He would assume so, but.. he coldn't help but feel nervous about the whole thing.

Shifting from foot to foot as he waited, fretting over his hair a moment before straightning his shirt which had a ruffle around his neck. Despite being a man, he liked pretty clothes and didn't understand why most people gave him strange looks when he shopped for his clothes. He guessed maybe this was why he had troubles attracting girls....he acted too much like one. Or at least dressed too much like one....not that he had ever worn a skirt or a dress for that matter.

He frowned at the thought, what if this man didn't like him becuase of that? Should be acting more manly? But...he must know that he was meeting with another man...he had filled out his form correctly right? Just the thought made him more uncomfertable, he ordered a sweet coffee drink drizzeled with caremal and whipped cream. He sipped it in his nervousness avoiding the looks he was getting from the bartender as well others.

He was here...at the cafe which was the appointed meeting spot. He only hoped that Carys wasn't as scary as his imagination kept making him.

Carys was happy to see that Cafe didn't look to be all that crowded, it would be that much harder to go about a first date with someone you knew so little about when you had an audience looking on. He paused to look at his reflection in the glass windows at the front of the cafe, making sure that he looked to be what he hoped was his best before stepping inside. There was a little ding of the bell above the door as he stepped inside, announcing his presence.

He looked around, finding the one he was looking for as he stood out among the people that were here. That hair of his made him easy to find, it looked a bit like amethyst he thought as he approached the other male.

He should be feeling more confident in himself, his heart shouldn't be beating so fast, but he couldn't help it. He tried to convince himself that it wouldn't be so bad after they got to talk a little bit, right? What did they talk about? He shook his head, clearing his mind the best he could of worry and doubt. Surely if he was feeling this nervous so was the one he was meeting with? They had at least that in common.

"Hello." He greeted when he got closer to his date.

Sipping his coffee quietly he tried to convince him that he liked the bitter mixture. But in all honesty it was the cream and caramel he craved not the coffee aspect of it. He nearly jumped as he was addressed his blue eyes looking up to meet Carys mistmatched ones. HIs face flushed as he realized he was staring at him.

"A..ahh Hello there." He said hurring to stand up so he could properly address him. "Um...thanks...for coming." he stuttered wondering why he choose such a stupid way to start a conversation.

"I..I mean...um...Hi...my name is Paroparo. Uh....you can call me Par i..if you like." he explained his ears twitching in her nervous state. In his mind he kept wondering if this guy was truely part dragon. It was on the tip of his tongue..he really wanted to ask...but was also afriad of being roasted.

Blushing, stuttering, and cute all rolled into one. Paroparo was lucky that Carys was more in tune with his human self then he was with his dragon self or he might actually be tempted to steal off with him.

He quickly brushed that momentary thought aside. He was a collector of treasures yes but not damsels... or guys that looked a little like damsels in this case, "I should be thanking you as well." He said. He'd known that some of what he'd filled into his profile might cause some people to not want to meet with him, him not liking the touchy-feely being high on that list.

"Its nice to meet you Par, my name is Carys." Not that the Fae wouldn't know it since he'd seen Carys' profile but it wouldn't be polite not to introduce himself, "How about we sit down and get to know each other? Might feel a little less awkward then."

Paroparo offered the man one of his shy smiles, he was glad that he was polite if he had been brass he was sure he would be cowering behind the counter but he was very glad he introduced himself for now he knew how to pronounce the man's name. He hated saying people's names wrong it was one of his pet peeves.

"Um..I am sorry I started without you. Uh can i buy you something to drink?" He offered feeling a bit guilty having already started before his date. But he was nervous! He needed to nibble and snack on...anything! But sweet things were the best. He sat down at Carys suggestion and smiled.

"Uh...so...yo...um. It said on your profile that you do...multiple jobs? What kind of jobs do you do?"
PostPosted: Thu Apr 17, 2008 12:59 pm

"I don't mind, I know I can be a bit slow getting from place to place." He said, sounding a little embarrassed over it. Having a drivers license seemed liked the most natural thing in the world for people to have and he lacked on. He preferred walking everywhere, beside cars were to expensive, "Sure, a drink would be great. In exchange I will buy us some snacks, the stuff behind the glass looks rather good."

They were both men so how did dating law dictate who paid?

"Multiple jobs?" He questioned, trying to think about what he'd written down then laugh, "Oh! No, no. A Nine to Five job, you know the regular eight hours a day, stuck behind a desk sort of job." He explained, not having meant to confuse Paroparo with the term he'd used.

Blinking he tok a sip from his coffee to hide his embarrassment. He had totally misunderstood what he had wrote on the profile but...at least that meant he wouldn't be nearly as busy as he thought originally.

"O..h?" his attention was now drawn to the many sweets and cakes behind the class counter, his one true weakness. He had been good up until this point. Very good, but he felt his will power fade into nothingness as he pointed to a little strawberry tart.

"Um...that looks good. Wh...what do you want to drink?" He asked so not to seem single minded. He was...happy the half dragon was polite and seemed nervous as well. Perhaps not as nervous as he was, but this was certianly an awkward situation.

"Do..you like your job?" he continued trying not to appear disinterested he was just a bit flustered, he had assumed it meant mulitple jobs and he had all sorts of questions lined up for conversation. Now he was back to square one.

The half dragon looked into the case then gave a smile, turning to the man behind the counter and ordered the strawberry tart that Paroparo wanted and then asked for a plate of some over sweet looking chocolate, chocolate chip cookies. He should only get a couple but they looked so good he couldn't resist getting all of what was behind the counter, he was guessing there were ten of them. He'd share if the Fae wanted some.

Carys turned his dual colored gaze up at the list of drinks that they had, it was all so fancy and nothing he was really used to drinking, "Black coffee is good by me, I can add sugar to it after we sit." A whole lot of sugar could make anything taste good he'd learned.

"Do I like my job? Its not so bad, it pays the bills after all." He looked over at Paroparo, "Your job sounded much more interesting though, how did you get into that line of work?"

Paro blushed as the Carys ordered the strawberry tart for him wondering breifly if it was too girly a treat to order but strawberries were just...too good when mixed in some sort of pastery. Soooooo very good. Pleased that the man ordered the tart for him he was a bit surprised by him odering black coffee.

He couldn't repress the look of distaste. Black coffee was....sooooo bitter in his opinion. But he smiled when Carys informed him he could or would be adding sugar to his drink. Ordering the drink for him he smiled as the conversation suddenly turned to his work. He should of seen it coming he did ask him about his work after all.

"Umm... well I play professionally occasionaly but mostly just work from job to job whenever needed. Playing the flute isn't as glamorous as one would think." he explained with a blush. He tried to think of why he gone into playing the flute and ...it just was something that was part of him.

"Everyone in my family plays an intsrument of some sort. So...it was only natural that I take up some intsrument of my own." he continued though is own toughts wandered on why he choice the flute in the first place.

Carys paid for the treats and took the tray that they were served up on, looking around the cafe before motioning with one hand, "Shall we sit there?" He asked, indicating a booth that was set back in a corner of the establishment. Were they to sit there it would give them privacy to talk, something he would prefer before they started to get to in depth about themselves. He was here to get to know the Fae, not anyone else who happened to be around.

"Hmmm, maybe not glamorous but it sounds nice... the flute I mean. I find music to be rather lul... ahh... I mean relaxing." Best not to admit to quickly that music had such an effect on him. He would still like to hear the instrument being played, he was curious as to what sort of tunes the Fae would play on it. Maybe his race has special music to go along with their instruments? One never knew.

He listened carefully to what Paroparo was saying about his family, somewhat envious as it sounded like he was still in good with his relatives. He started over towards the booth that he had motioned to when Paroparo got the coffee, glad to sit down and to be rid of the tray of treats. The scent was teasing him being so close and as much as he would have liked to lean over and snatch one off the tray with his teeth he was trying to make a good first impression. Looking like a heathen wouldn't score any points with his date.

The coffee drink that Carys ordered didn't cost much and he felt like he was being a bit cheap, even if it wasn't his fault. He said nothing on it though as his attention was diverted by the glistening strawberry tarts now placed on a tray. He nodded his head only half listening to his suggestion about sitting down and followed after the man like a puppy wanting his treat.

Paroparo snapped out of his fixation on the tart when Carys spoke agian, he beamed a bit for he was indeed proud of his ability and skill on the instrument. "Uh well ..I can play it for you if you want." he offered, he was still nervous around the half dragon but he was beginning to feel that he wasn't about to be roasted or eaten this instant anyway.

Placing Cary's coffee down his hand grab some packets of white sugar and he timidly offered them to the man. Okay he was still nervous, but what could he expect? It was a first date of sorts.

"Well my brother can play the gituar and I havn't seen my parents in a long time...I guess they are still using percussions instruments." he explained, though the situation with his parents was a bit unclear he knew they weren't dead, but were very far away....it was a bit confusing he had asked his brother many times about it but all the answers were muddeled.

Taking a tart he offered it to Carys, he didn't want to be rude and eat it himself. Though he accidentally dipped his finger into the red jelly like substance while trying to offer it to the man.

"Oh no...um let me get you the other one." he hurriedly said reaching for the other tart and unsure of weather he should put the first one down or not. He could feel the jelly, nice and cool dribbling down his finger...it made him hungry...soo terrible hungry.

He gave a nod of his head, "I would like that very much." He told the Fae, looking forward to hearing him play the instrument. He finished off two of his cookies before turning his attention to the coffee. He pulled it closer to him, then got the container that held the sugar. He sized up the amount in the cup before he started to add sugar. He liked it when his coffee was almost crunchy with sugar, it was the best way to enjoy it.

"You guess?" He found himself asking curiously, maybe Paroparo was doing as well with his own parents as Carys was with his? He sounded as if he were still close to his brother, that sounded nice. He had Kern though which was a bit like a relative in his eyes. Many of his family members might not see the man in that same like though.

His train of thought derailed as one of the sugary sweet tarts were offered up to him. It would seem that he had done as best as he could when it came to behaving, to manners. As Paroparo lifted the treat up and despite the fact that he had stuck his finger into it the half dragon more then happily took a bite. It was after he'd already sunk his teeth in that he heard the other man saying he should get another one for Carys, to late though...

The dragon tried to keep a flush from his cheeks as he drew back, chewing what he'd bitten off the first offered tart, "Ahh... sorry..." He muttered after swallowing.

It was about a thirty second delay before Paroparo reacted to Carys biting into the tart he had offered him. He had...just stared at him not even blinking in astonishment. Not because he had taken abite of the tart...but because he took a bite while the tart was still in his hand.

It was the longest thirty seconds of his life. The apology registered briefly in his mind, his fingers twitched in anxioty and he batteled the panic building in his chest. He...had come so close to biting his fingers. He truely was like a dragon! He was lucky he still had his wiggly little hands.

"Ah...well...." he stammered trying to form words that just weren't working. "your really part dragon?" he spat out finally though looked abashed as he found his words sounding really rude.

"I'm ..s..sorry. that..was rude of..of me." he continued feeling more embaressed by the minute his face dark from flushing.

Carys leaned back away from the other, finding it hard to look at the Fae for a moment before he gave a nod, "I am, half from my father's side." He told him, wondering if it were a major turn off for the Fae. After all even Carys knew that their races didn't exactly see eye to eye. Seeing his reaction he wondered if he'd scared Paroparo that much? He'd been wiggling his fingers as if he were surprised that they were all still intact.

"I wasn't... didn't mean to scare you. I thought you were offering me a bite I just..." He flushed a bit, having the treat offered up to him like had made him forget himself for a moment. He quickly set to fiddling with his cup of coffee. He stirred the dark, now sugary liquid with his spoon though didn't make any moves to drink any of it.

It was more a motion to try to try to calm his nerves.

Paroparo took a deep breath calming his nerves, he was over reacting. He knew he was, he felt silly. There was no reason to be so scared, Carys had apologized but the racing of his heart changed from fear to something else. Exiliration? Maybe...he hadn't much excitement in his day at least not lately.

Swallowing he offered an embaressed smile, "Ah...your father? ...Um...what kind..of dragon was he?" He asked placing the tart on the table quietly and then moving to lick the jelly off his fingers. He stopped the moment his tongue tasted the sugar. His eyes wide he realized he was being rude.

"Uh...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..uh well." He continued and finally just picked up the tart again and gingerly offered it to Carys. "You...can have the rest..I am sorry I over reacted." He wiggeled the tart in front of Carys like it was a lure.
