Keep bleeding love." Well, it's about time this got brought up, lol. I'm starting to see a fairly large amount of people say that Zack loved Cissnei more than Aeris. I'm not sure why they believe this, but here are some of the reasons that were mentioned:
1.Zack asks Cissnei to dinner.
2.Cissnei receiving Zack's parents' blessing
3.Zack flirts with Cissnei a lot
4.Zack can say Cissnei is the prettiest girl in Midgar
5.Cissnei was in love with Zack
And what I say to that is,
1.Cissnei refuses dinner. And since when does taking some one to dinner, mean you're in love?
2.Zack had no control over that. He mentions that his parents do that with any girl. (At least, his tone implied that.)
3.Zack flirts with every one a lot.
4.You can also say that Aeris is the prettiest PERSON in Midgar, and yourself is also an option. x'D Not to mention, that it's not just one choice. You can talk to the same person and change your answer... this is clearly just something fun they put in there, so you could see the different reactions.
5.I think she MIGHT have had a crush on him, but to me they were more like sister and brother.
Okay! So, you're thoughts on Cissnei:
-Like her? Hate her?
-Was she close to Zack?
-Was Zack close to her?
-Does their relationship threaten Zeris? (no)
I didn't like Cissnei at first, but she grew on me. I think she's a decent character, and I remembered her from BC, so I was wondering where all those other fun TURKS (Like Katana! <33 Personally, I think Cissnei likes Katana, not Zack. > : O ) went off to.

I don't really like all the turks who show up pre-FFVII to be honest, but I think you summed up all the arguments for anything between her and Zack. There's nothing to suggest he's in love with her. I take friends out for dinner all the time. And someone who's going to look at CC and think that it's not whacking you over the head with devoted Zeris, needs that head checked. XP

I didn't like the pre TURKS either at first, but after researching BC, and reading in depth about the other characters (and seeing some cute Japanese fanart), I really got into them. Especially Rod and Katana! Those two are so HOT. lol -clears throat- I liked the female TURK called Shotgun, too. She was in Last Order. O_o I wonder what happened? ROD WAS IN LAST ORDER TOO! <3 Did they DIE or what?! -pulls out hair- Rod was like Reno's old Rude! -sniffle-
When Tseng digs up the grave where Genesis buried his own parents, he says "Some of our men were buried there too"... so I kinda figured that they could be some of the old TURKS. Actually, I think CCC brought up that idea with me first. rofl

That's really interesting.
No, as I said, there is no affection system. There are people out there trying to claim that you can make Zack and Aeris not fall in love, and just have a fling. The so called system doesn't affect the major things like the promises or letters. It doesn't change the story either. All it does is reward you with scenes you wouldn't see if you didn't do everything correctly. (This is coming from many different sources all saying the same thing)
It's like saying Yuffie and Vincent aren't really apart of the team because you need to do extra things right to get them and their scenes. Make sense?
There's no way to make Zack and Aeris not be completely in love with each other. It doesn't make Aeris like Zack any more or any less. And all the scenes are canon. Therefore, it's not an affection system like people are claiming.

There's no argument on who Zack actually loves. Throughout CC, his thoughts centered on Aeris. To say otherwise would mean that you're ignoring all the sources such as Ultimania and such.
Concerning Cissnei, she doesn't even show any noticeable affection. If anything, she acts more of a close friend. In Costa Del Sol for example, she seems to acknowledge Zack's affection for Aeris and act totally cool about it, carrying a normal conversation with him.

I try to see his story through my eyes.
My best friend.... think Tifa and my girl as Aerith ( relevant I promise ).
I have feelings that are above the friendship barrier and I have made her (tifa) aware of it. She is with some one and so it is a bro and sis kinda deal... (I've always thought of Tifa and Zack as siblings)
how this relates to this is the fact that humans (and by extention twisted SOLDIER twisted ) can have more than one love and life... they just simply have to choose...

Of course, He is SOLDIER first, romantic second... And to be honest, that's the only type of guy for Aerith. We all know opposites attract but sometimes similarities create a stronger relationship. His love of people falls with hers of the planet... Well, I honestly didn't think she was interested in Zack at first... However when she found out from Tsueng that he obviously has feelings for Aerith, she gets the forbiden fruit complex. It doesn't help that she has to help or be helped in missions, or that thier employer is the same and they get to see each other everyday. Now, as for Cissnei's feelings, I think she was trying not to cause a break between Zerith, but to simply let Zack know that she approved of him and his actions. And in doing so she left hints that her feelings for him. Zack is cool but a dimwit at times and totally overlooked her to Aerith which makes for true love, Zerith fans.

Ooh, I like that connection! Zack with his love for people and Aeris with her love for the planet.....aww....
Yeah, that's what's awesome about Cissnei. She doesn't butt into people's relationship and definitely doesn't put her feelings as a priority.
