Chernabog was wandering through his lands well pleased with how things were shaping up, he had a nice den, a well situated bit of land, a good water source. The pack by the sea was headed by a turbulent female, but he was sure she wouldn't be a problem, he had yet to encounter the other pack that shared a close border. He had two Betas in whom he had every confidence would do their jobs, and a sly new Lord for his court. He would need to find more of course, but for now it was a nice start. He quite enjoyed how things were shaping up.

Slowly he strolled along the borderlands that lead into the plains his ruby red gem clunking against his neck and his masks combination of metal and bone catching the sunlight. All in all the King was well pleased with his kingdom, now all he needed were more subjects to fill his royal court. He was certain Kiara was off finding new members for the pack, she was ambitious, beautiful, quite the clever little minx. He would need to be careful about how she interacted with the males, after all couldn't have them squabbling over a female. As for the omega...he decided she would stay a secret for now, secluded as she was, there was no need to allow her to mingle with the pack.

Chernabog was not the only creature inspecting he strong lands, and to his south a solid figure fluidly glided, easily moving his massive body between the brush like a wisp of breeze rolling over a hillside. The dark shades of his fur blended with the darker hues of the forest, but where patches of luminescent light drifted down, he paused, allowing the gold of his eyes to sparkle with the reflection. His bloody colored stained paws continued forward, pausing only to inspect his current location allowing his senses to paint the entire picture far more vivid than a simple 3 dimensional model. Breathing in, he could smell the foliage in the warm sun as they grew, he could also pick up to pack's scent, but this caused little concern to the wolf, after all, he had heard word of these wolves and while they presented a considerate threat to the creature it was because of them that he was here. Flicking his ears he listened to the silence. He felt life beneath his feet and tasted the thick air as he inhaled. It was brilliant...perfect.

The dark featured wolf stopped once more, hearing in the distance something moving and instantly froze. It was wise to pay attention to one's surroundings and encountering a potential threat was not something he intended upon. Naturally he wasn't here to start a fight, that wasn't Clooney's style, in fact he was here for the benefits of what the pack offered. He had heard rumor of the certain privileges certain members of the pack acquired, all of which intrigued him enough to spark his bored interest. There was no other reason for him to be here, after all, he detested the idea of submitting himself to someone above himself, believing fully that respect was owed to him, not some alpha whom he felt could not tell him what to do. But the offer was greater than any sliver of pride that riddled his desolate body. Strong, tall and deplorable, these were the best descriptions of the handsome wolf. Though he had a charming grin, it was his sadistic personality that would fit like a puzzle piece into the rank of the pack he was currently seeking.

He stood still, waiting for his company to come upon him not feeling the need to move and bow before them in earnest. He waited.

Slowly crimson eyes focused on a figure in the distance, Chernabog didn't take in the sight with kind eyes. A low growl rumbled in his throat before he inspected the male his ears pricked forward. A strong male stood before him, and while he doubted this was any kind of threat he did recognize an opportunity. The male that stood before him showed no hints of fear, a quality that might make him perfect for the placement of a lord. Since the alpha was having trouble finding wolves of such character he decided to move closer to investigate. Kiara had managed to recruit members each with excellent qualities, now he hoped to match them.

With a confident gait the demonic looking king of the pack strode forward to meet the other male. Bloody colored paws and leering faces slipped closer until Chernabog stood barely a foot in front of the intruding wolf.

"Are you aware the land you stand on belongs to the Reign of Terror?" His tone was deep but casual, no longer holding the hinted growl.

The dark form fell upon him in the short distance, drifting, gliding to him as though the dark wolf was a splint of raft on the open sea. Brilliantly in charge, dominant, strong and unwavering was the clear message he sent by his posture alone, let alone his domineering appearance, glaring through his skull mask. Clooney observed him from his distance, watching as he came forward, but not once did he flinch or back away, having in mind the simple principle he set up for himself; no one was above him, not even this wolf, which he was offering to give his consent too. Those gold trimmed ears of his pulled to the side in a bored fashion but his eyes were focused respectfully.

Chernabog settled before him, unnervingly close. His eyes flickered over the crimson orb before returning up to the glowing peepers the alpha watched him with. He listened to his words, allowing him the pleasure of speaking first and responded immediately, having an answer to what he was asked naturally. "I am aware. I've come to see if the rumors were true, to test what I've heard..." Clooney paused briefly before continuing, "I take it you are the Goblin King. I've heard a bit about you and your pack and all I've heard has sparked an interest in me. I'm debating joining your little flock." Now he waited to see the reaction from the slightly taller wolf. How would he respond? Would he immediately take to a recruiter’s standpoint, or would he take offense to the swift, and almost challenging statement the black creature gave?

His yellow eyes watched coolly, mildly bored, but no doubt intrigued.

"I am the King of the Reign of Terror, yes. What makes you think you would be suited to join my court?" His words held a tone comprised mildly of interest, pride, and warning. Chernabog did not relax his stance as he had for the wolves he had sought out, he wanted to see if this male was genuine. He certainly didn't lack for boldness, but that was hardly enough.

He wanted each to bring something to the pack after all Kiara was ambitious, Blackjack was cunning, Hope was a gleefull fighter. Riko could raise the pups. So what then did this wolf have to contribute to the growing pack? His crimson eyes focused intently on the yellow orbs before him, there was something, or the male wouldn't have bothered to come.

He stood still, watching his movement, which were subtle when at all present, and paid strict attention to his words. To him this was the same procedure as any interview, and entering into a pack was quite a detrimental occurrence to begin with, so the process he was sure would be meticulous. It was the answer which caught his tongue, silencing him. Sure the pack had its opportunities, but what did he have to offer it to contribute to its function as a whole. Clooney had obviously not thought of this question. But he was not left in a stumper, not allowing himself to fall prey to the words to the alpha whom he was trying to impress and win his favor. His proud head straightened on his shoulders as he stared the wolf down as he spoke smoothly.

"I'm malicious...my reason for seeking acceptance into your ranks is to purely writhe in the opportunity to travel outside into other pack territory and force those outside to succumb to your will." It was not Chernabog's will he wished to serve, but instead his own, but he was incapable of doing so directly so why not use the resources that were available to him? "I would function in my role grandly. I would be euphoric in the atmosphere you offer. Not only would I force those insignificants to bow to your power, but I would let it be known through the lands of the power of Reign of Terror. "

The ego Clooney expressed whether inwardly or outwardly was quite exquisite. His entire self image was based upon his ability to force others into submission or the lack of doing so. He did not feel fulfilled until he had the fear of another, or hear a pained whimper of a pitiful wolf who had crossed him wrong. He could put this sadistic persona to work in Chernabog's ranks.

A soft smirk managed to wriggle it's way up along his muzzle as the king of the reign of terror listened to the eloquent words coming from the wolf before him. He knew that this wolf would be perfectly suited as a lord, one who could go out and make the Reign of Terror well known. He thought on the wolf's first words...malicious...sadistic...cruel...in other words he would make a perfect enforcer. Chernabog eyed the wolf curiously a long moment.

"Malice...you would be a most useful lord, but would you be loyal to your packmates? Would you leash this malice of yours when near your allies?" His eyes narrowed on the male and the smirk faded beneath metallic fangs. As much as violence and the ability to fight for power would be a part of the court, he wanted to traitors among his pack.

The golden hues reflected the interest the dark colored wolf had as the epithet was sounded and like a heavenly bugle it sounded like chimes on his ears. Malice would do just fine. But still he listened taking in his valid question understanding fully that the alpha had every right to question those who were to enter his lands via his mercy and with his previous statement he had not only built himself a fine resume, it he had also labeled himself as a potential threat. This seemed to pass him by alright though and he answered swiftly, not wanting to keep The Goblin King waiting.

"I have no reason to turn my fangs viciously upon those who are aiding my growth. I see no benefit in attacking pack mates unless I feel there is certain regard or a strong threat against my life, then I would only use force as a form of self defense," this was for the most part a truth. Clooney could be cruel, but he was not without reason in that dark brain of his; if he perceived a situation potentially dangerous to himself he doubted he would enter if the end result would not outweigh the effort put into it. The only pack members he could see himself using as his play toys would be such members with a rank no higher than slaves...

Chernabog's ears perked at the swift response, it was reasonable, and this wolf would indeed make a perfect lord. All that was left was to show him the lay of the land and welcome him into the court. The King however would take his time in announcing to the male that he had been accepted. Instead he turned back towards the territory and looked back over his shoulder, showing no fear only the confidence that he could handle whatever was thrown upon his massive shoulders.

"Your name?" His voice held only a mild interest, mostly since this stranger had wandered by so willing and wanting to join them. He has a certain something, a quality Chernabog couldn't yet put a name too, perhaps he would give this Lord the enslaved omega of the previous pack to play with. At the pack meeting he would have to explain to his court exactly how they had all come to enjoy the fruit of this particular land.

It was interesting to the dark wolf that the alpha so easily turned his back on the stranger despite the fact that he had already spoke of his willingness to becoming a loyal. Perhaps it was not trust that allowed him to take this step, but instead the confidence that he could protect himself that allowed Chernabog to so swiftly show the stranger his back; maybe they were no longer strangers, after all, it seemed that the Goblin King had no longer any critical questions to ask beside one. Clooney was surprised he had not mentioned it before but dismissed the emotion when it was a well known truth that he never gave his name till it was asked of him.

"Clooney...sir," he answered, remembering to add on the respective statement a second later. He was not accustomed to giving authority to someone other than himself and felt misplaced when saying it, even if it was such a simple word as Sir. It was apparent to him that they would be moving further into the pack lands. This allowed a small smirk to sprout on his maw while his body grew anxious to move and fidgeted slightly as he stood otherwise still.

Chernabog felt the deep wave of satisfaction as the other wolf tacked on the respectful address on his own. It meant that while he was prideful, he would indeed mesh well in the court. This was the type of semi-independent wolf that Chernabog wanted as a lord.

"Come then Clooney...you will serve as a lord for the pack, this service will entail protecting the pack lands, but more importantly you will be sent out on ocassion to serve as an...ambassador of sorts. You will collect tribute from neighboring packs...packs that are uncooperative must be made to pay for such insolence. Our lords and ladies will ensure that all of Telk pays homage to the Reign of Terror, our court will be known, and we shall have respect even if we must take it with fear."

He looked to see how Clooney would react to his statements. If the wolf shirked now it was because he was unsuited.

This was the statement he had been longing to drip into his ears their entire meeting. A wicked smirk smeared onto his maw as his eyes burned with an excited flame, ready and flickering with vigor unmatched. During this time Clooney's eyes wandered from Chernabog, staring off while imagination ran rampant before his eyes, allowing him to see his future as he wished it. He only hoped that this would come to be...but as words set in it seemed to the dark wolf that his longings were to become a realization.

"I will take my duty with pride, my lord," he said, finally coming back to this world allowing his golden eyes to once more find the Goblin King, "The opportunities you present me are the soul reasons for my coming here." His tail swayed from side to side; this was not in an excited manor like a dog, but instead he was amused at his accomplishment of finding himself a rank within the Reign of Terror pack.

Chernabog grinned softly beneath his mask at the others excitement, the choice was a perfect one. Clooney would fit into the pack like a puzzle piece that had been needed all along. With a nod he turned and strode into the packlands, deeper towards the dens.

"Come I will show you the main den, and your own smaller den. It's good to know you'll take advantage of what the pack has to offer, and in turn give your service to it. You will make an excellent lord as long as your willing to act as well as your speak." He grinned over his shoulder at the male, he had a feeling there would be problem with him shirking away at a fight or unpleasant task.
PostPosted: Wed May 14, 2008 7:16 pm

There would be no shirking away, not from Clooney whose only issue in the pack would be the taking of orders. It was his pleasure to attack, to fight, to tare his fangs into the flesh of another creature be it wolf or not, and his pride would not allow for anything but full acceptance. He would sooner die than back out of a fight. This was how the proud wolf was, his essences that did not allow him to behave in any other manor; and of course he hardly doubted there would be a time the wolf would ever have the churning of his stomach tell him to turn away, after all, he was a cruel creature well endowed with the ability to feel desensitize a situation and coil it so that it pleasured him rather than sickened him as it would other wolves.

His pads moved forward, following after the slightly larger masked wolf, silently so. Those golden eyes of his stayed focused ahead while his ears swiveled in every which direction still keeping an air of caution about him as they moved along. The proposition of having his own den sounded splendid. Like a human, it would be like his own haven away from the rest of the world when he had the chance to hide within it. "That sounds splendid," he commented before continuing, "You won't be disappointed in what I offer, I promise you that."

Chernabog led the proud male along showing him the smaller stone dens, the outlines of the territory before finally bringing him back to the main den. He grinned softly and eyed the male, this was the first time he would let the omega out. He had left her alive for two simple reasons, first she was the sole survivor of her pack, a pack he had wiped out for the land he now called his own. The second reason was so that his pack would have some sport.

Clooney looked like the type of wolf who would appreciate the pack's omega and would find something adequate to occupy the females time. Chernabog had been so busy with his lands he didn't have time to keep the female in check. "Come I want to show you something..." He slipped into the large stone den, the temperature was warm, but not stifling hot, the stone excellent insulation.
