The Guild's anniversary is coming up, so we've planned a guild event to celebrate!
The theme is a costume ball. Come dressed however you like, but be sure to take a look at the tektek contest below.
Contests and games include:
* a riddle contest (hosted by red_moon_wolfess with a prize)
* a raffle (hosted by the guild with a prize)
* a book trivia contest (hosted by the guild with prizes)
* a tektek contest. Tektek the costume of a book character and/or author (hosted by the guild, judged by Fairgrass and Olivia Falconer, with prizes)
* a gavsim (http://www.gavsim.net/) contest to see who can design the best bookstore (hosted by the guild, judged by the guild, and with a prize)
We hope to see you here!

Classic is always good! Book ball sounds fun.
We can have a costume contest for who can best dress as a character!

Well, sad to say that the characters I want to dress up as would cause me to go out and buy the needed costume pieces, which I can't afford because my friend's birthday is coming up soon. Although the idea's fun, it seems to require that people either have to already have the costume or they have to find a way to make themselves one. But, that's just me being the one to point out minor issues. XD
Random Number Contests are always fun. Another Guild I'm in just had their party where I won an Infinity Hat. Lesse, they did a free raffle, random numbers, and had an RP thread for a ball.
What if people create riddles, and whoever is able to solve them gets a prize? Of course, that person would be excluded. sweatdrop But is anyone really good at making riddles?

The only riddles I know are the ones from The Hobbit and other books.
What about a silly book title contest, with entries drawn from real life?

I actualy had a riddle test a wile back, I made it myself! Most people couldn't solve all ten riddles ( The avrage was about 3 or 4, the highest score was 8, I think) If you want I can see if I can dig it up, and I would be willing to host a riddle contest!

The only problem with a lot of skill contests is that they're so objective. We'd need a panel of judges for most of them.
red_moon_wolfess, I like the riddle contest idea. If you're willing, I'd like you to host it when we have the anniversary.

Huzzah, I contributed! XD red_moon, I couldn't make a good riddle for the life of me. -applause- But I thought it was a spiffy idea, and I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job.
So... okies, we have riddles... what if there are quotes and the first person to identify the corresponding piece of literature wins?

A limited subject. Not everyone has read everything, so we would have to make it a well loved book, like Inkheart or somthing, or else some people wouldn't get it. Maby somthing shakespear? Since we all read that in school at one point or another.

How about a quiz on myths and legends? I find that even if you don't set out specifically to read them, you wind up knowing more than most people about old myths. (( I, personally, probably know more about old roman myths than most of my class ))

I think I'd like to create a quiz like this. heart

red_moon_wolfess Include some posts about Fearie! I love those stories!!! When is this thing anyway? I got a riddle test all ready! ( I couldn't find the old one so I did it from memory) Believe it or not, I just came to this thread to ask that very question. I think a Thursday - Sunday block would be good, but this coming week isn't looking so good for me. My final exams are this week and next, and after that I'm headed out of state and possibly away from the computer until the 12th.
Of course, I don't want to wait for the following week, because that would conflict with the Gaian Prom.
Does anyone else have any schedule conflicts? Please post them here; I want everyone to be able to come.

Thursday-sunday? Thats just before my finals. But I think I could make it. If only to pop by and check who has answered my riddles. ( By the way, those are going to be PM answers only, otherwise everyone might get all the answers!)
