Farside

((A new home for the estranged Tomorrow clan 3nodding Please bare with me while I make it so ^^))

Walking through the many beautiful gardens of the Dark Sakura you might happen to stumbled upon one of the many Sakura trees that give this enchanting place it's name. Although this one seems a little different, but the precise reason why escapes you. Upon closer inspection it becomes clear that there are intricate runic patterns carved almost lovingly into the bark. These symbols don't seem seperate from the tree, almost as if they would naturally be found there and not from the result of a blade or spell. If you were to reach out your hand uninvited then you would recieve nothing but the feel of rough bark beneath your fingertips. But if you are a friend... Then that is a very different matter.

From where your finger touches, light spreads like water poured into the engravings, causing the runes to be set aglow. Within seconds the light erupts all over the trees bark and then suddenly you find that you are no longer stood on the soft springy earth of the Dark Sakura gardens but are instead in front of a large painted door. This is the home of Amber Tomorrow, Rune Master and Anthro. Mother to Amelia and Adamus Tomorrow. Pray, do not ask about her husband, John Tomorrow, because that memory is still sore but be sure that you will be welcomed with great hospitality. If anyone is in of course!

The Layout

As you enter the apartment through the brightly painted red door you would first be struck by how much larger the apartment appears to be than what you had imagined.

A coat and shoe rack stand out in the hall along with a small table with a dish containing a few sets of keys, some loose change and quite strangley a few dog biscuits...

Containing down the hall to your left is an open doorway to an open plan kitchen and dining room with modern appliances and a sturdy wooden table. A quiet snuffling can be heard from within the room as Bin tries to nudge his way into the fridge for the second time this week. A little further on and to the right the hall gives way to a large and brightly lit lounge. Of the doors leading off the lounge one would find two large bedrooms for Amelia and Adamus, a study room, a family sized bathroom and eventually Amber's room with en suite. The whole place has a very homely and lived in feel to it.

((A little crude, but it'll be built on as time goes by 3nodding ))

The front door of the apartment swung open and Amber Tomorrow stepped into the hallway, carefulyl carrying a cardbord box under one arm and a set of heavy books with the other. Two small dogs ran between her legs nearly sending her off balance as they skidded down the hallway, yipping and barking happily. Amber quickly regained her balance, her tail bristling but she didn't call after the two youngsters instead choosing to chuckle softly as she shut the door behind her to stop Bin from escaping but she need not have worried as he was preoccupied with the twins.

Walking into the lounge Amber carefully placed the cardboard box down on the floor before walking over and putting the books lovingly onto an empty shelf. Turning to the hyperactive pups she grinned and bent down in front of them with open arms.

"Definately home now hey?"

The puppies cam bounding over, nuzzling and licking furiously at Amber's hands.

"That's enough now guys, come on."

The puppies suddenly seemed to change before her eyes, though their wagging tails remained and within minute she was met by the smiling faces of her twin son and daughter, Adamus and Amelia.

Amelia Tomorrow

Amelia grinned at her mother, running a hand through her ruffled hair and stretching out her back.

"Sorry mum, we just go so excited ya know~!"

The young girl looked to be around her very early teens, her anthro and tribal genes had helped her to mature quickly and it was hard to believe that not so long ago she had been one of the toddlers asleep in Amber's arms as she watched over her husband in Hospital.

"So..." the young girl glanced around the apartment lounge, "Do we have seperate rooms?"

Her tail wagged furiously behind her, betraying what she hoped.

"Seperate rooms?! Ah man, do we mum, do we?!"

Adamus peered over his sister's shoulder, bright green eyes twinkling. Those eyes, so similar to his father in all but colour. They held a sweet mischevious innocence. His own tail wagged in time with his sisters as the pair waited for their mother's reply. As the excitement within the pups built small amounts of static jumped over the red tattoo mark on their right and left arms respectively.

It'd been about a week since the move and Amber was sat in the lounge quietly reading one of her Runics Tomes waiting for the pot to boil so she could make some tea. With the twins out at their Middle School the apartment seemed a little too quiet for Amber's tastes but still it was something she would have to et used to now.

At first she had been unwilling to send the twins to a public school because of their growth rate and instead she had been taking some time to home school them. The twins were smart and thirsty for knowledge. Now that their growth spurts seemed to have slowed down Amber had agreed to enroll them in Barton Middle School. The twins had been delighted. Turning the page on her book Amber sighed and put it down, rubbing her eyes and stretching her legs. Bin had been sat docily at her feet, full from the scraps of breakfast he had been fed earlier, but now he too stirred and yawned widely, showing his reptilian tongue and small rows of teeth.

"I never realised how much life he bought into a home Bin..." Amber murmured sorrowfully, "It still hurts but I'll keep going and sooner or later things will turn out alright. Besides, I've still got Adamus and Amber and after what happened back in Tomorrow's apartment I'm just grateful for that" 3nodding

Amber cast her mind back to the last night she had truly spent in Tomorrow's company at their apartment near the LevKit centre and the attack that had been launched upon her home. She suspected the Facility but whoever it was had tried to take her children. A growl involuntarily escaped her lips but her anger vanished as the kettle started to whistle.

"Ah, tea time!" she chirpped happily.

"I want you both on your best behavior! No funny business now, and for the love of the gods if either of you embarrass me I swear that I will do everything in my power to make you forever regret it!" Violet eyes stared threateningly at the two before her as she shook a finger at the both of them.

"Do we even know these people?" Bren whispered softly to his mother as she smiled at Samantha's back as her daughter finished her little speech about manners and activated the runes on the tree.

"I have met Amber a few times, but mostly I believe we are here because Sam feels connected to Amber's husband still...even though the dunderhead has disappeared on us again..." Hono resisted the urge to curse at Tomorrow for leaving his family in the same predicament that she was in...at least her children could take care of themselves most of the time, she worried how Amber was dealing with life as a single mother.

Amber paused on her way to the kitchen, ears alert and tail stiff. She sniffed the air quizzically. Had someone just activated the rune tree? Amber made a mental note to adjust it slightly so that she'd know for sure. She took another few steps towards the kitchen before turning round and heading for the front door, after all if people were there she didn't want to keep them waiting!

The latch clicked as Amber opened the door and she stood in the doorway blinking a few times at the small group of people there. She recognised Raven from the few brief encounters they had shared but the children were unfamiliar to her. Judging by their scent they were probably Raven's children. She blinked herself back into reality and smiled nervously.

"H-Hello Raven-sama! It's nice to see you."

She stuck her foot out to stop Bin getting out the front door. He couldn't really escape anywhere, what with the apartment lingering between the edges of two realms but Amber didn't fancy him greeting her guests.

"Would you like to come in? I've just boiled the kettle for some tea. 3nodding

"Thank you Amber." Raven smiled warmly at Amber and ushered the two taller teenagers into the house before her. "This is Samantha and Brendon...my children!"

Samantha managed to look a lot like her mother, even if she was already a few inches taller than Hono and sporting bright purple pigtails for hair as compared to her brother who was taller than either of the girls already. Bren had dark red hair to match Hono's red streaks, but his eyes were a bright blue and despite appearing rather gangly at the moment he was already starting to look a lot like his father.

"I brought you a house warming gift!" Sam beamed a smile and offered Amber a basket full of little plants that appeared to be herbs, an indoor variation of a window garden!

Amber smiled and nodded at Bren and Sam, looking a little startled as Sam presented her with the gift.

"Thank you very much Samantha, you didn't have to but it certainly is appreciated! I wasn't able to create a garden, not yet anyway, and I love plants!"

Her tail wagged happily as she sniffed the greenery, enjoying the herby scents that assailed her senses. Shifting Bin to the side Amber let her guests into the apartment and carefully shut the door before releasing Bin. Whereas John might've stood on the creature's lid or kicked it down the hall Amber had opted for a gentler touch. Though John had never harmed Bin Amber still felt a little sorry for him.

After showing her guests in Amber took the basket of plants and carefully set it down on one of the kitchen sides, well out of Bin's reach and began to prepare the tea...

In a matter of minutes she was walking back into the lounge with her guests carrying a tray of tea cups, a pot of steaming leaf Jasmine tea with some pocky and sweet dumplings. She carefully set it on the table and sat down on one of the cushions.

"Now who would like a cup?" she asked as Bin came scuttling after her and disappeared under the table.

Hono replied with a simple "Me, please!" and a grin.

"I would love a cup of tea, thank you!" Sam managed to look like the polite adult of the group, as her brother simply shook his head as a no thanks.

For twins, Sam and Bren didn't look a thing alike.. and it was obvious that they didn't act alike either...but they didn't appear to act much like the normally bouncy Raven either for that matter!

"How are you doing Amber?"

Amber smiled back at her uests and set about pouring the tea, offering a cup to Raven and then to Samantha before pouring one for herself.

"Help yourself to sweets everyone, it's only my second time of making the dumplings but the twins seem to like them enough so they can't be that bad!" she chuckled, putting one of the dumplings onto her own plate and taking a sip of her tea.

The flickering of her ears showed that she had acknowledged Raven's question but she took another slow sip of her tea before answering, "Honestly Raven? I've been better but if this is how it's meant to be then there's nothing I can do about it. If John wants to be found he'll come to me but until then I've got my children to think about and their futures. I'm sure everything will work out in the end"

Although she smiled her eyes betrayed just some of the hurt she was feeling at the sudden disappearance of her partner. John had been the only love she had ever known and he had meant a lot to her. He had taught her much of what she knew of the world outside the Facility and she had always felt safe with him. Being alone, even with the company of the twins, was going to be hard, she knew that. But there was still a longing for things to be like they had before...

Raven made as if to grab for the dumplings, and stopped herself for a moment as she caught a glare from Sam... she was half tempted to glare back at the purple haired girl, but instead she smiled sweetly and placed a single dumpling on her plate before she took a sip of her tea.

"He will come back... I know he will..." Even though she sounded like she was positive about what she was saying there was still a slight shadow in Sam's eyes that betrayed the fact that even she was not positive that Tomorrow would in fact return to his new family.

Bren was looking around at the apartment from under his long bangs as he munched on a pocky stick, and carefully keeping track of what his sister said to use against her at some later time.

"Well, you be sure to look me or Sam up if you need anything dear... 'Morrow was a good friend to me, and I would be honored to repay his kindness by calling you a friend as well!" It was a slightly odd thing for her to say, but it stemmed from the fact that Hono was always happiest when she knew that the people she cared about were happy... and adding to that list of people just meant that she had more chances to be happy!

Amber smiled at Raven, "I'll bear that in mind, thank you"

Her tail wagged happily behind her as she munched on her own dumpling. Bin peered out from under the table making strange whining sounds. Amber chuckled and fed him what remained of her dumpling before helping herself to another.

"Even if he did come back..." Amber paused and looked around at her guests before seeming to focus very intently on her tea cup, "I don't know what would happen with the children..." she almost whispered.

It was true. Amelia and Adamus had never truly known their father. Amber had never spoken ill of him to them but still she felt, particularly in Amelia, there was some sort of resentment there...

"Still, I know that Amelia and Adamus will welcome two new friends, I expect they'll be coming home soon at any rate."
