Such a beautiful day... sun shining, blue sky, a few white clouds... birds flying and chirping, little rodents and small animals going about their buisness. Absolutely peaceful and perfect... and completely dull. Even on the outskirts of the Pridelands, the good will and harmony of the pride spilled outward, sending everything in a lull of what most creatures would call bliss.
But then, Matsailema had never been 'normal'. It was kind of expected, when you were the son of a Princess and a God, and you had the ability to see the past and future by touching someone. Which would probably also explain why he found the peace of the Pridelands so incredibly grating... A big, strong male like himself needed something to do, something to challenge him, and what was there really to do here? Raise cubs, visit with friends, hunt for food... some would say protect the borders, but that was laughable. Everyone was welcome, so its not like they needed to be protected. Matsai had no cubs of his own and wasn't interested in them. His cold, dispassionate personality ment he didn't have really any friends, and you could only eat so much in a day without getting fat and lazy. Which ment, then, that there was nothing to do at all...
So, he spent his days wandering aimlessly, eating when he felt like it and practicing his visions like he was today. Stretched out beneith a tree, he lay sphinx-like with his paws before him and his hindlegs tucked up, his head lifted. Green eyes stared at nothing as he struggled to command his visions to come to him without touching anyone, but they were being amazingly stubborn. He could be bowled over by them from meerly brushing shoulders, yet when he wanted them to come, they refused to even glimmer behind his eyelids.
A frustrated sound came from him as he twitched, but never really moved, his face blank. He had to try harder... he was sure a time would come when he'd need or want this skill, and he'd be damned if he'd give up on it.
