i got a really cool idea for a character however i cant think of a name and its driving me insane. The character is very quiet in nature and is blind but eventually in the story it talks about her journey of getting her vision back but cant think of a name for the character.

Give a name generator a try http://nine.frenchboys.net/That page has a list of different ones that I sometimes use when I have trouble coming up with a name.

Baby Name books (or websites) are also useful.
Generally I like to do a search on name meaning so I can entice readers with little hidden tidbits.
Other sources:
Words from another language. I took the Mandarin word Ming, for bright, and reversed it to make Gnim for a character.
Changing names of people you know-- You can make a character a tribute to or a slap in the face to someone from your past. I name most of my villains after bad teachers I had. I simply change the order and breaking of some of the letters. One had the first name of Sharon-- so I created Sha Ron, a wicked and cruel man as well as Sel Rus (Russel) for another villain. I almost reversed my father's name (Dennis) for a character, but that turned into Sinned, and well... yeah.
