It had been... A very long trip. But if that's what it meant to be free, than she would certainly walk up and down a mountain range if need be. Fear and excitement had been what let the mare travel so far without stopping for long breaks. She didn't know when or where her previous captor was when she had left... He had been out hunting, and those trips usually lasted a day or two. He neverleft without immobilizing her somehow, but she had learned to act as if her leg was broken, and he believed her. Oh, lying was indeed dirty... But it gave her an opportunity she had been waiting for since one day long ago. The exhausted mare took heavy but graceful steps as she trekked thorugh the heavy trees of the forest while her chest heaved. Her eyelids drooped as she attempted to concentrate on just continuing on without stopping, but her sore throat begged different. She hadn't seen a river since the frozen one near the mountain in which she came, which was not good news for her parched throat. But stopping now would give the demon of her blood the chance to catch up to her. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she pressed on, though she found herself leaning more and more against the passing trees. She could hear something faint nearby. Was it running water? Or were her ears just playing tricks on her? Whenever it sounded like hooves were following her they weren't... 'Oh please... Let me not become deranged in the mind as my poor relative has.' Merciette thought sadly, stopping for a moment to lean against a heavily vined tree.

The orca colored stallion happened to be wandering aimless today. His spirit seemed to drift around him in solemn thought. His hooves crunched through the brush. His mane was starting to get tangled and that was starting to piss him off. Adonis usually didn't get angered until his mane was messed up. He could hold his tail above the thick brush. He made a solid stride forward and had made his way into a clearing. Thank god.
The male beauty seemed not oblivious to his surroundings just uncaring. He was free to do what he pleased and yet he had no idea what to do with himself. He sighed softly as he scented a mare. For once he didn't seem in the mood for a flirtacious go around. He let his head thud against a tree wondering why he was in such a foul mood. He used to be so upbeat at this time of a day.

The trees ahead were beginng to look less dense. 'A clearing...?' It was a thought that did not please the mare at first, but... Wouldn't her brother hunt for in the most obvious places such as forests? He would never dream of looking in an open field! The thought gave the mare energy, and she pushed herself away from the tree and began to walk towards the thinning trees. She paused however, when there was something off in the air. The scent of another. Her ears perked and she tensed, but after a moment of deciphering, it was definitely not her brother.
There was a 'thud' nearby, and though hesitant, Merciette turned in the direction and took a few steps to the side of a tree. From around it she saw the large dark stallion... Who had his head against a tree? Why would he do that? Was he listening to it, hurting it? Or was he just tired? She looked down, unsure of what to do. It had been a year, maybe longer, since she had any interaction with someone besides her demon of a relative. She turned her icey eyes to him and bit down on her lower lip, before speaking, "What has the day brought you, sir?" She took a step out from beside the tree, tentative to take another step.

"Nothing," he replied. "Except the tongue of a sweet mare whom smells of the frigid mountains." He looked to her with his intense eyes. "What brings you here?" he asked in the most soothing tone he could conjur. He was in no mood for impressing anyone nor being 'cute'. She was going to be getting a whole other side of the stallion.
Ebony drapes fell into his eyes as he stared in her general direction. Sometimes he wanted to cut his mane, although it would grow back. He certanly would not enjoy a haircut like Cyrus.

Merciette swallowed when he spoke back, eyes of ice widening as he spoke of her scent. It was.. That recognizable? Fear flickered in her gaze for a moment, but at his intense gaze she forced herself to turn her gaze away. Had she done something wrong? His tone told her different, but he did not seem very pleased. Trouble was not something she wanted to find in the lowlands. She lifted her head after turmoiling on the inside a little, and back to the stallion.
Oh dear, she was taking a bit of time to answer. She couldn't quite tell him the truth, that she's hiding from a deranged step-brother now could she? She would sound mentally handiapped herself. "The day calls for a walk, and I am traveling to see the land outside of the mountain." She said, and she immediatly averted her gaze. She wasn't lying, but she wasn't telling the whole truth. The day called for a walk of course. A long walk away from where she came. She was traveling, but not to enjoy the scenery. Oh, Merciette wanted to speak the truth, but well, what if the stallion ran into Persephonix and spoke of meeting her?
"What reasons have brought you here?" A valid question, one that would turn the attention and focus back to the dark stallion before her.

Adonis eye brow raised as he walked closer, close enough so she could understand his heighth and size. He was no small unicorn and he had battle scars from his past life before these lands. "Then why do you not look at me if you are telling me everything?" he questioned gently.
His blue iris' never drifted from her blue face, not once. "I come here ever so often. I'm always drifting between lands." he added. He wondered what had the mare so afraid. So scared, he wasn't afraid of many others. He had to fight a skin walker once, it was not a pretty sight but Adonis was no push over either. In the end the skin walker wasn't able to walk, left for the coyotes. Adonis was limping and had a seared shoulder but he was still alive at the least.

His words were gentle, and there was no sinister intention behind them it seemed. She rose her gaze to meet his, searching for that evil glint that would tell her not to trust him. She only found a pair of soft eyes, and in her reply her words shook as she sighed, "I never said I was telling you the story of my life. It's certainly a tale that would not be pleasant to your ears." Her smile was weak, not moved or willing to tell him where exactly she had come or where she was going.
"Are the lands beyond this forest and clearing worth seeing?" Merciette turned her gaze towards the path ahead in which she had been traveling. The mentality that the farther from the mountain she was "the better" did not play for her. She was going to stick relatively close to her captor's home... Since she knew he would believe her to run as far from "home" as possible."

"Indeed," he replied as he watched her. He didn't pity her, he only wanted to attempt to help. Her eyes were filled with pain that he too could comprehend for such a pompous a** that he could be. "The salts of the ocean are the sweetest scent I have ever encountered." he smiled softly of thinking of his home. "The sea weed and the fine sand is perhaps the best combination for any remedy." he looked to her.

"The ocean..." The words slipped past her lips as she stared out in the crection she had been traveling before happening upon the stallion. Her words were quiet as she attempted to put the word to some kind of mental image. A salty smell? ... Like, the smell of blood? She winced, her eyes clenching shut as she took a step back. She opened her eyes slowly, keeping her gaze for the most part on the ground.
He spoke very fondly of the ocean... And that it as a remedy? She lifted her head hesitantly, and looked at him through her white bangs, "Kind sir," she addressed him politely, "Would you be willing to fuide me to this ocean? I have desire to see it..." She wanted to ask more firmly, but her words came out in a wistful and shy manner.

He watched her, something dreadful had happened to her it seemed and it pained him to see someone so beautiful hurt so much. "I can," he replied with the tilit of his head. "I'll take you to the place, I am most fond of and not many roam, for they do not know it exists."he smiled softly as he started to lead the way.
His multicolored eyes roamed around for any sign of danger, he could scent wolf at a distant but that was it. Probably a loner. He sighed softly as he moved forward into the brush.

The stallion before her... Was very kind. She was grateful he was so willing to take her and he had inquired towards her health or state of mind. Blue eyes stared after him as he started to lead the way, hesitant to follow. She could see... See him leading her to a blue demon. A shudder ran a course thorugh her body, and she was quick to take a step back. Her brows knitted together as she stared after him with a worried face.
This was too familiar. A friendly, young stallion claiming that their favorite place was a place not many knew of. Her heart ached sorely at this memory, and she shook her head vehemently. She had only been a foal then... Her judgement was poor and not honed! Raising her head, she began to follow him at a cautious and slow pace, her eyes solely on his dark figure. If he made any move that appeared to hint at a hidden agenda... She'd flee.
Guilt washed thorugh her as she thought about running away. The stallion, whose name she still did not know, didn't seem to have any ill intentions or feelings towards her. She was just being paranoid. She sighed quietly, but she wouldn't let her guard down.

The stallion turned back to see her in fear of him? He didn't think he had done anything threatning. His head tilted to her, "I mean you no harm, miss." he watched her as he walked back towards her. His brows furrowed at her in a confused notion. "If you'd rather not come you don't have to, but I assure you nothing will hurt you while your with me." he smiled. He did mean that. He had never, ever saw a mare frightened of him. Infatuated yes, scared no. Something horrible must've happened to the poor girl, but when hewas around he would make sure nothing would happen to her. Quite a deal for someone he hardly knew.

A gentle smile was what he offered. Not some impending doom. Merciette stared at his face for a moment, before looking down, ashamed at her behavior. "I'm sorry," she apologized quietly, before looking back at him. A soft, apologetic smile appeared, and she nodded. "I do want to come..." She trailed off and took steps towards his ide to prove her willingness to go. She avertd her gaze when he attempted to reassure her of the safety he offered.
Safety wasn't something you could assure somebody of. It was something she knew of all too well.
However... She felt almost safe in the large stallion's presence. She turned her attention to the path he had begun to walk before she interfered. "Please, guide me." She said, glancing up at him earnestly.

Adonis looked to her, his eyes narrowed she almost reminded him of Briseis. A female in his past, his first love. It angered him to know that someone had installed that much fear and caution in someone. He preferred to live life, not be in fear of it. He flipped his bangs from his face as he flicked his tail and started to walk, he could hear the soft chirping of baby birds and the rustling of a rabbit grazing in a narrow grove.
"I'm sorry, did I ask you for your name? Or give you mine?" he asked with a full hearted laugh. "I could see why you'd be weary of me." his pink pupils looked to her as they walked. "Names Adonis."

The fact he didn't speak when he looked at her made the mare inwardly isgh. She should've just followed him at first and not doubt him. She deserved this treatment. Walking behind him cautiously, her pace slowed when the sound of baby birds chirping entered her ears. Her head turned in the direction of the chirping, and it seemed like any fear that had been sitting in her eyes had dissipated. The sound of new life...
When Adonis spoke to her, she was broken from her trane and the look o peace faded from her face. There was a hint of it still there in her eyes however. She smiled softly at his laugh. It was merry and full, not forced at all. Merciette however, could not bring herself to laugh with him. She decided not to tell him that she had other reasons to be wary of him, as it would just once again kill the mood. "Adonis..." She let the name roll of her tongue, and her slight smile widened. "Merciette is the name I was given..." She introduced. It was the one name Persephonix refused to call her when he had kept her as his pet.
