That's a really good question! I was wondering the same thing, and I just read it the other night! You make a good point there! I wonder why Lot would do such a thing...
I think that women were looked down upon even then. Afterall, that wasn't too long after Eve ate the forbidden fruit and its only been recently that women have been given equal rights. It does show how truely evil those men were that even offered a young girl they still wanted to rape the visitors.
