I've really been worrying about finding my dress lately. I do not, and neither do my parents, have the money to by a dress new. So, I have been looking in resale shops, tried on my mothers old dress and one of her sisters, ect. Yesterday my fiance and I were bored so we decided to go to the local junk store. We parked out front and they had dresses hanging in the window. So I went to look at them. I found practically the same dress I fell in love with at Davids Bridal at the store for $55. But wait, it gets better! The store was having a half price day so I got the dress for $27. Wait some more! The dress had been taken in from its original size so I have to have it let out, I called a lady in town who I have sown with in the past she said she would not only work on it for me but that she would buy it for me for my wedding gift!
So I got a beautiful gown for free!!!

That's wonderful! I'm so glad you've found the dress you wanted. It's even better that you're getting it and any work needed as a gift. Do you have any pictures?

It isn't the greatest picture in anyway, we were in a bath room in the school library (the woman who was altering the dress works in special collections). So, it is dark and awkward. But oh well! Ignore the bra and the bathroom! biggrin

Yeah, that train. That was the one thing I didn't want in a dress! xd
I'm going to have it bustled. The wedding is outdoors and the area it is at has wood chips as ground covering. So, I need to get rid of the length or I'm going to be dragging chips with me down the aisle- while the mental picture is very, very funny I'm going to avoid it actually happening.
