User ImageJoshua Kirkpatrick, the ex-space marshal in training was not happy.

Probably because he had been shoved into the closet for what seemed to be the umpteenth time, and this time, Fluffy had been locked in with him too, which meant it would take a while for someone to pass by and let him out.

Seriously, one day he was going to maul Deadpool.

Firstly, the guy had set him up on a blind date (Even though he had specifically said that he had a girlfriend before, and getting one wasn't the first thing on his mind when he had arrived in this furry body) and shoved him into it without even telling him beforehand. And also told Aurum that he was scared of girls. Sure, the girl was nice, but really! Going around spreading rumors about him like this was simply intolerable.

And now, he was locked in a closet. Again.

"WADE WILSON!!!" He yelled, banging on the door furiously. "Let me out of here this minute!" When no one answered, he slumped against the door, sighing. "Yeah, I know. This sucks." He said, in answer to the ultrapet's worried squeaks. What else could probably be worse than this?

User ImageIt had been a while since Tony had been to the Place. Actually it had been a very very long time, simply because he was avoiding Wilson like the plague. Ever since that girlfriend of his had announced that she was pregnant. That was one way to keep the skull faced mercenary away.

Perhaps it had been out of what little respect he had for the red clad merc, wanting to let the guy raise his kids in peace, or maybe (and far more likely) he just didn't want to meet any of the probably deranged children.

So why exactly was he heading there now? What had posessed the mercenary to go to the very place he was avoiding? The very place where a certain friend he hated lived. Well simply put, Wade had something he wanted.

Weasel.

Sure in the past there had been that kidnapping of the geeky guy, and of course he had offere Weasel a job to work for him, of course it didn't really out and Deadpool had ended up kicking his-- It was a minor defeat, just something unexpected. Not to be talked about. It didn't matter now, with Weasel Wade could have all the guns and weapons he wanted, and well, Tasky was running a little low on amo. So why not just sneek in and steal some, as well as a gun or two. Not like they'd be missed.User Image

That was of course, if he could get in and out quietly. Which he was rather doubting at the moment, as a tiny little brown haired kit was trailing along behind him. His kid...apparently. With that Purple-Haired Shrimp. He was still denying it. But he wasn't going to leave the thing alone at his house. Last time he tried that he came back to find it in shambles, and a lamp had caught fire. Just because the little thing had said he wanted to clean the house for his pops.

Oy.

Yellow eyes shifted, as rather loud banging, and screaming was coming from a closet door. Shouting Wilson's name rather angerly. Really if Josh wanted to maul Deadpool he'd have to get in line. A brow arched, and much to his better judgement he opened the closet door.

Luckily for Taskmaster, Josh didn't topple out of the closet like he had did before. He had learnt his lesson ever since Aurum had let him out from there; leaning against the closet door when you expected someone to open it was a good idea.

Blinking slightly as the door opened, he opened his mouth to shout, expecting Deadpool, but then relaxed when he saw another. "Uh...thanks." He padded out, then eyed the other's costume. "Are you...Wade's friend?" Weird outfits, and a mask. Probably.

The guardian was the first to notice the kit and nosed at it with a curious robotic squeak. Blue eyes flickered towards the brown-haired kid when he heard Fluffy and then repressed a shudder. Gaah. Kids. Josh didn't really like them.

Had Josh just toppled out of the closet, Taskmaster would have just snorted and walked off. Actually he was thinking of doing that now anyways. "Whatever." he uttered dryly, turning away. He was simply going to walk off now, but the mention of Wilson's name again made him stop. Or rather the question.

Wilson lived here and so, he didn't doubt that his name would be know by others that lived there as well. But to call him friends with the guy. Well, he wouldn't go so far. He liked the guy sure, but well he also didn't. Call it a complicated friendship if you will. "
Something like that." a grunt, as his gaze flicked back towards Josh for a second before turning away again. "It's been a pleasure, but I don't have time for this."

Sheldon nodded, trying to keep the same look that was upon his father's face, upon his. "
Yeah. Don't have time." the kit was quick to get a glare from his father, and quickly returned the exact same one.

Tony shook his head, he was not good with kids. And trying to disipline this pirticular one never seemed to work. "
Remember what we talked about? So would you just- you know what. Nevermind."

The kit just wagged his tails repeating everything which his father just said, before looking back and forth between both Tasky and Josh.

Well, Josh himself wouldn't call himslef Wade's friend either. Even though the latter had given him a entirely ridiculous nickname, the reason why he didn't reiterate his point about being named Josh was that he had figured out it was no use. But being brought back to the place was a friend thing right?

Acquaintance. That was as far as he would go.

An eyebrow raised at the little kid's antics and he tried to laugh. Well, that certainly was amusing. Of course, it was a bystander's point of view. He himself would have been annoyed if Sheldon started copying him instead. "Heh, your kid?" What was it with comic book people and children, really?

There were many that would not call themselves friends with Wade (even when they often at times seemed like it), and that list certainly seemed to grow on a monthly basis.

Yellow orbs shifted, looking to Josh as if the boy had said something terrible. Actually he might as well have. Tony was still in denail about Sheldon being his, and chances were that he would continue to be that way for the rest of time. Not that he didn't care about the little kit; somewhere deep down he probably did, but he would have rathered that Xianthe had not dumped one of the eggs on him.

"
-Just some kid that was dumped in my lap as an egg." he grunted, flicking his tails and clinking his sheild against the floor. A certain drunken mishap was never going to be mentioned. Under no circumstance.

Sheldon clapped his paws, coiling his pale tails around his tiny body. "
Heh." he liked that word. Yes he did. "'m say tha-" he began to say to Josh, but was cut off by his father.

"
"'m say?" -Work on your grammar, Squirt."

Oh man.

This wasn't one of those parents that didn't like their kids, was it? Or something like what happened to Emo Boy's parents? Those one night-stands? One thing for sure, from the way Taskmaster glared at him, it was that "parent in denial" thing.

Why did it happen so much here? He hoped it would never happen to him.

"That...sucks." His tone had a slight hint of symphathy. Taking care of a kid, especially a bratty one (heck, they were all bratty no matter how innocent they looked!) was hell.

"Say what?" Josh stared down at the kit with a raised eyebrow.
PostPosted: Wed May 14, 2008 12:47 am

Parent in denial. Always and forever more would Taskmaster be a parent in denial. Maybe somewhere deep deep down and maybe at a future point in his life he'd admit that the kid was his. That he actually had two kids, but for now it was denial all the way. And it wasn't changing anytime soon.

"
You have no idea." he muttered dryly, yellow eyes watching the little brown-haired kit rub his head blinking as it thought. What exactly was this little thing going to tell Josh, even he didn't know; of course he never really paid much attention to the kid, and certainly not enough to start understanding anything about him. Well except for Sheldon's like for mimicing others...Much like his own photographic reflexes and voice impersination.

The little kit flicked his tails before clapping, trying to keep his face straight as his father always did. "
Say what, what?" he blinked, canting his head slightly to the side. His gaze refused to leave from Josh.

"Hey look, I had to babysit an alien kid once. He was hell of a trouble, I tell you." Plus the kid always pretended to be innocent and cute in front of his and Josh's father. Ugh. It gave him the shudders just thinking about it. He didn't like kids either.

Meeting the kit's eyes with his blue gaze, Josh sighed. So now it came to mimicking him, eh? "Look here, kid, you've gotta get a mind of your own. Or, maybe it's that you don't have much of a memory." Yeah, the kid probably forgot what he was going to say.

He had to babysit an alien kid before? Alien? Here? No most certainly not, not as far as Tony was aware anyways. This kid must have come from some other world just as he had, and even though there were aliens from the universe he had come from, a lot of them infact, the idea of having to babysit one...well it was just stupid. Why would anyone subject themselves to such a thing.

"
An alien? Yeah sure, that's great." his tone remained dry, why he had stuck around this long just to exchange a few words with this guy he didn't know. He needed to get out of the Place before he acedently ran into Merc with a Mouth. That was the last thing he needed, and really getting in a out was a simple enough task. One of the simplist....Or would have been had he not had the little kit to watch.

"
Don't have much of a memory." Sheldon repeated, blinking before smiling. "Memory! Memory! Yesterday, yesterday I helped Pops clean the house 'cause you gotta clean everyday otherwise things will get dirty an' dirty isn't good at all. But then, then Pops said I was making more of a mess then anythin' else and he made a face like, like this and then put me in front of the TV. And you know what was on? Iron Chef was on, Iron Chef was. And they were all 'choppy choppy chop' with their knives kinda like this, an' then they were all like 'oh no time is almost up' but then they finished. And the food was really yummy lookin', but there was no juice so it must not have been that good. Oh! And the day before yesterday--" That was probably the most the little kit had ever spoken and had his father's paw not covered his little mouth he most likely would have gone on, explaining what happened in the past many days.

"
Trust me. Memory is the least of his troubles." Tony would have much rathered the kit not have had such a decent memory, it made him that much more of a nusance. However there was an idea in Tasky's mind and a slight grin was upon his skeletal masked face. "Listen I've got some stuff I need to get done, especially before Wilson finds himself coming around this way, I can't stand to listen to his idiotic prattling. And since you say you've had to babysit an alien then you should have no trouble watching the Squirt here." He wasn't going to be giving Josh much of an option because in the blink of an eye he seemed to be gone. Darn those ninja moves of his.

It wasn't Josh's fault that he had come from a world set in the future, and having to babysit an alien kid. He hadn't liked it when Kirkpatrick gave his team that mission either, in fact, he had tried to convince his father otherwise.

Then again, fathers seemed to like torturing their kids.

Well, this kid seemed to have a pretty good memory...and a hell of a motor mouth. "Iron Chef? It's much more fun watching robots smash up each other." Old TV was still rather...ugh to him. It still beat studying though.

"Wait what?" He blinked. It had happened way to quickly, and Josh didn't have time to protest. The facts sunk in only when Taskmaster was gone...and he was left with the kid.

Damn.

While babysitting an alien kid wouldn't have been completely unheard of in the world from which Taskmaster had come from, it was still certainly something not all that common. And a rather idiot move if one were to ask the skull-faced merc.

Sheldon's gaze turned for a moment, before he lifted a tiny paw and waved. "
Bye bye, Pops." he uttered, before he began looking up at the ceiling. The little male slowly swished his tails back and forth, contemplating if watching robots smash each other really was more entertaining then Iron Chef. His daddy certainly liked Iron Chef a lot, and he made such good tasty food too. Probably better then those people on the TV with the cool knife tossing.

"
Robots smash." he finally uttered to Josh, his attention returning to the dark haired boy. Slowly he wobbled to his hind feet, trying to keep his balance with his tails and short little arms. "That's when you have to be smart? Robots smashing. You have to smash them first right?" The little kit ploped onto his rump, and blinked. "Juice." he spoke with a rather unsettling gaze.

The kid wasn't stuck with him. The kid wasn't stuck with him. The kid wasn't stuck with him.

Maybe if he repeated it enough in his mind, he would come to believe that. Josh did not like kids. Especially irritating ones. And all of them seemed to be rather irritating to him; with the exception of Brett. Then again, the genius could be annoying at times...

"Well, I guess. There's a lot of stuff you can do to take them out." He didn't want to go into the details. Maybe if it was someone like Aurum he was talking to, he would. But this was the kid.

The kitsusagi turned to walk off, tails in the air. "Well, there's always the kitchen. It's somewhere here. Go find it yourself."
PostPosted: Wed May 21, 2008 10:52 am

Lots of stuff one could do to take them out? Oh Sheldon wanted to know more now, he wanted to know the ways and how one would go about doing it, but it really didn't seem like Josh was going to tell him. Maybe he'd go look it up in a book when he got home. Or try and find something about it on TV. Did they show that kind of stuff on TV? How to smash a robot before it smashes you? Oh! Or he could bother his father for the answer, he would have to know the answer to that.

The little brown haired male blinked, watching the other male turn away, tails high in the air (or at least it seemed pretty high to him). Placing his feet properly on the ground he lifted his tails, trying to mimic Josh's posture and pose, it didn't seem too hard. "
Kitchen." he repeated, trotting up alongside the male.

Josh wasn't about to get rid of the kid that easy.

Oh, Josh would be amused (and rather proud) if he knew he had put it into the kid's mind to bother his father about robots. Of course, he was now much too annoyed and preoccupied with something else.

More specifically, someone else.

He had walked quite a few paces before realizing the kid was still following him, and turned around, fixing the kid with a glare. "Look, why don't you go home?" To tell the truth, he wasn't sure where the kitchen was. If he did, he would probably bring Sheldon there and then try to sneak off.
