It was sunny along the streets of Gambino, which is not surprising, Suzu made his way toward a reputable petshop with the intent of maybe walking away with something he can take care of, something that could just stare at him with big round adoring eyes or something. In other words he was looking for a companion intelligent or not. He had talked it over with Father and eventually got him to agree despite the menagerie they already have back at home. It just goes to show persistence pays off especially if you promise to take care of it and are known to be a pretty responsible individual all around.
It might be the fact that, Pales felt guilty because of some recent events which included an attack by other children, otherwise known as bullies, thus getting his glasses broken. It was the only thing that really looked different on the lanky four-armed 'boy'.
Studiously he stared up at various signs not wanting to miss the shop itself since it seemed to have been set up in an odd little niche, or at least that is what Father had said. Suzu was inclined to believe Father because the older man never lied to him before.
"Timbuctu...Timbuctu...Ahh, there it is!" Suzu said to himself cheerfully. Everyone else pretty much stepped around him or ignored him thus far. He began to turn himself to where he faced the shop and went to enter.

Shauna sighed and stretched her arms up for a moment before looking down at the shopping list in her hands with another sigh. How come she had to go find these people? It was her mother's wedding! She wanted to go hang out with someone. Sigh. Oh well, it was still a wedding! How exciting!
But there're some things that're more exciting than a wedding. A boy with FOUR ARMS! She'd seen him before but she couldn't remember where. Holy crow! That's so cool though! The fox stopped in her tracks and watched the boy quietly, smiling brightly and hurrying down the street, squeezing between the crowds, to catch up to Suzu. "Heeeeeey!" She cut in front of him with a bright smile on her face, running a hand through her hair to get it out of her eyes. "Don't I know you~?"

Suzu's odd colored eyes widened a bit in surprise as he almost moved forward right into the older girl suddenly in front of him. He jolted to a standstill and stared up at her for a long moment trying to place her. Suzu took in the form in front of him taking in any sort of features that were familiar before responding to her question or her greeting.
It took a few moments before a smile appeared on his lips and he held up his two right hands to wave, "Hi!" he chirped in greeting, "I think we know each other. You're...Shauna."
"My name is Suzu, if you forgot, it is okay. It has been a long, long time." He didn't mind reintroducing himself.

It was the formal tone and the waving of two arms instead of one that clicked some sort of memory. Oh hey! She'd met this boy with Stala! And Gilles! God, she was terrible with names...this was so embarrassing! The fox couldn't remember his name!
Argh..what was it?! Her ears flicked when her own name was said, blushing a little to herself but smiling warmly to him nonetheless. "Uh huh! We met at the fish market!" She put her hands on her hips. "Except I was a lot shorter and younger back then. Gosh, I feel old now. Everyone I know is so little!" The fox teased, giggling softly before Suzu reintroduced himself.
"Well, it's nice to meet you once again, Suzu! I'm sorry I forgot before, I just...well...I suck at names sometimes." She pouted a little, her ears flattening against her hair for a few very, very brief seconds until she perked back up again like it'd never happened. "So what brings you to this part of Gambino?"
Shauna...obviously didn't notice the pet store...

Suzu simply nodded and smiled as Shauna remembered how and when they met. He had, of course, noticed she was older, taller, and pretty. Not that it stirred particular feelings in him, but with detached asceticism he noticed her appearance. Suzu grinned a little, "Yeah, you were, but you're not old, Miss Shauna." Either he was being polite or he meant it. Most likely he meant it, as Suzu is rarely insincere.
"Yes, nice to meet you again." He echoed back canting his head to the side as she inquired about his purpose for being here. Suzu's upper left hand reached up and pointed to the shop behind her, "Going to that petshop there. If you have time maybe we can go in and look around? Thinking about buying a companion." It was matter-of-factly stated.

Shauna put a hand on her cheek at the compliment. "Aren't you sweet. Thank you, Suzu~!" She ran her hand through her hair again and put her hands on her hips, glancing back behind her when Suzu brought up the pet store. Oh! Of course! Children loved animals!
At Suzu's offer for Shauna to join him the fox clapped her hands together and nodded with a bright smile. Of course she'd go in with him! She loves animals! That and, well, children really shouldn't be off on their own; they could get into trouble. Not that Suzu looked the type to get into trouble in the first place. "Well, then, let's go in! Anything in particular you're looking for in a pet?" Shauna asked, taking hold of Suzu's upper right hand and walking in with him.

The 'boy' beamed a smile up at Shauna as she complimented him on apparently saying the right things. It appeared easy to make most girls happy so long as you didn't say they were ugly or old or something. Not that he'd do a lot with this particular information, it was just good to know, simple as that. "I speak only the truth, Miss Shauna."
Suzu observed the delighted reaction of the teenaged fox-girl and simply smiled more at her. She seemed a delightful person to be around even now. He allowed her to take his hand and moved into step next to her, "Don't know yet. Father said I can get anything I wish so long as it is not a snake." Suzu sounded amused.

"And let's hope it stays that way." Shauna giggled, and opened the door in front of them. It was like the whole building was built to be soundproof to the outside world, it was so noisy when she opened it! Agh! Puppies especially! Geeze!
So he could get anything he wanted? Anything at all? The fox looked around, tapping at her chin and giving Suzu's hand a little squeeze.
And then she spotted it.
The most adorable thing in the story.
"How about a chinchilla?"

The noise caused the four-armed 'boy' to squint but an eye closed until he adjusted to the chaos. This was his first time in a pet shop the truth be told, but likely not his last since he’d need to come back and re-buy supplies if need be. There were rodents, birds, dogs and cats, even reptiles and more exotic things. All begging for attention in some way or another but Suzu didn’t seem moved one way or another at the moment.
Certainly kittens were cute as were the puppies, but for some reason none really called to him. Suzu kept his hand linked to Shauna’s and was aware of the squeezing and in reaction squeezed back.
When Shauna spoke again his head turned to where she was looking. There in a pen was a cute, brown fuzzy thing with a luxuriously furry tail. Round black eyes met with Suzu's almost immediately. Suzu started forward pulling at the fox. It was follow, let go, or be dragged.
"Yeah, a ch-chinchilla..." The 'boy' said sounding almost dazed. It seems a match had been made.

It was so adorable! It was perfect! Small enough to fit in his four arms but still big enough not to be squished! And it looked so calm! Surely any parent would love that little perk. The fox girl led Suzu to the chinchilla pen and let him go, reaching in to take out the brown spotted one that was staring right at him and holding it up in front of him.
"How about this little cutie?" Shauna smiled. "I'll even pay for him and all his stuff for you~!"

Suzu and the chinchilla Shauna was holding stared at each other pretty much nose to nose now. Suzu leaned forward a bit and the small critter sniffed at the 'boy's' nose with curiosity and gave a small squeaky sound of contentment.
"Are you certain, Miss Shauna?" he sounded mystified at the concept. After all Suzu did have the money for it. Still, he wasn't going to refuse the offer if set before him. Meanwhile the chinchilla placed its paws upon Suzu's nose and had begun sniffing at the bangs of Suzu’s red hair. The child gave off a soft giggle at the sensation.

Shauna giggled softly, watching the child and the chinchilla bond in the couple seconds they were together. How sweet! He really did seem to like this one. It was like they were made for each other!
When the boy asked if she was serious she nodded, a bright smile spreading across her lips. "Uh huh! I'd love to! Is this the one you want?" She was already looking through a wallet she'd pulled out of a small bag she'd been carrying this whole time I swear.

"Yes, Miss Shauna," Suzu said as his top-set of hands reached out and plucked the chinchilla from Shauna so she could have an easier time of digging about in her belongings for mode of payment.
The chinchilla moved about on Suzu's top-arms and eventually ended up on his shoulder peering at the world from its not so high vantage point. Occasionally it would groom itself or alternately sniff at Suzu's nearby ear or hair as its luxuriously fluffed tail twitched a little.
The 'boy' wandered away from Shauna to address the shop keeper to see what was needed to maintain the life of the little spotty brown creature as well as picking out cages and things so that it all was completed in rather short order, at least on Suzu's end. The chinchilla was put in a carrier with air-holes for easy transportation.
Good thing the kid has four arms or this would turn into a challenge to get home, and naturally things that were much too much for him to handle Suzu had set up to be delivered to his home.

She was in the middle of taking out a credit card when she saw the sight before her. A chinchilla sitting on a child's shoulder like it belonged there. That was so adorable! The fox giggled again and followed Suzu and the shop keeper, scritching the chinchilla between its ears with a smile.
"Wow, I didn't know you needed so much to take care of a chinchilla!" Shauna blinked and looked at all the stuff the keeper was talking about, waiting until he'd told her the total before handing him her credit card and turning to Suzu with a bright smile. "So? Know what you're going to name it?"

After the transaction is completed and the chinchilla receives the attention it deserves, Suzu put the critter in the holed carrying case for its own safety. The shop keep had explained that this particular specimen was, in fact, a male.
"I was thinking Rufus." Suzu said as he put the critter away for the moment. Everything was set to be sent to his house and should get there shortly before he got home.
He set the carrier on the counter for the moment, "Miss Shauna?" Suzu tilted his head for a moment it seemed as if he was going to ask a question but instead of elaborating he stepped up and gave her a just above waist-height hug with all four arms.
"Thank you, thank you so much. You didn’t have to."
