Is it moral to clone a person for the use of the clones organs, or to make a human/cow mixed breed? The human race has started to do this and I find it immorale. Can someone please talk to us about this?

Well I think it is not really funny, anyways, cloning wouldn't work, too, since they need a lot of "prototypes" to create one working clone, for example the sheep "Dollie" was one under hundreds which actually "worked" better than most. I wouldn't let myself clone in the style of "the isle", I'd rather accept death or my own stemcells, taken from my spinal cells.

The thing of those so called "chimairas" or hybrid lifeforms are not new to the world, back in 1998 british scientists made it for the first time.

I have a split point to them, I don't think it's right to mix up mankind with animals, but on the other hand I am curious to see what happens next and what becomes of the gained knowledge.

well lets not forget everyone has their own veiws on life
some think it would be great to have clones, that way we only need to find amazing people and clone them so the clones could fight in our place
but the whole thing about genetic splicing is, it would be tricky to do, their would be too many variables to consider, such as what diseases does the species get and could it affect the new species that it is combined with

(I'm aware of the fact that it's been a month since someone's said something here, but I'm going to disregard that for the mo' ^^;; After all, I think it has some potential.)

My personal opinion on this is that I /don't/ think it would be good to start cloning just for organs. (I read a book whenever I was in seventh grade called "House of the Scorpion", partial Sci Fi sort of about this.) First of all, wouldn't it be thought of as inhumane because of the fact that you could, in essence, be killing human life to continue yours? Even if it's a clone, it's still human. It'd be like killing a form of /you/. We'd also be degrading human life if we thought of clones as animals. Expendable.

...what would be the point of a human/cow hybrid type thing? o.o;; I'm just going to say no on that one.

But hey, that's just my opinion. You don't have to believe it.

User ImageI try to smile but I can't remember

To be honest I don't really even know where I stand on this topic because I kinda think that it's wrong because it's as if you are just abusing knowledge that we have to mess with life and the fact it was never meant to be so altered. Then again I think that it's ok because if you are dying or in a critical state and you need blood, but there isn't enough blood for you or there isn't any that's the same blood type, then having someone who is exactly the same as you would be very useful because they would have the blood needed. There is also the fact so many people are on waiting lists for organs and if you clone people then there would be more organs to help those in need, but like I said before I don't really stand firm on one side or the other. It's a tough choice to decide if it's right or wrong.User Image

I've never heard of anybody actually doing this. If anybody can show me an article or something, I'll believe it, because I've heard theoretical stuff and sci-fi movies about it ... but no actual execution of this.

I think it is immoral. We have other technology in development that would be much more efficient than growing another you from scratch anyways, such as growing heart cells in laboratories and such. I doubt that cloning for this reason will ever actually happen.

I personally believe it's immoral.
Why would you bring a human into this world to kill it?
I say we make organ donation mandatory when people are DEAD (unless they have a disease or something). They don't need it anymore, why not help someone else. biggrin
That way we don't need to slaughter humans like cattle (no offense to the animal xd ).

I personally don't like the idea of cloning. It makes me wonder if that being has a soul. The idea just creeps me out.

Fact is, we've dealt with diseases and all of that forever and, though it might sound rude of me, I'd prefer to die then to have something cloned from someone just so I could keep living longer. If I die then it just means it was my time to go, plain and simple.

I have no problem with cloning, but I do if you're just cloning for the parts. I think it's worse than murder to kill something you've created. Cloning itself isn't bad, its just like creating a younger twin.

personally, i am pretty much okay with cloning, as long as they only clone and grow the body part(s) needed (except the brain). i think it would be inhumane to clone a whole human, then kill it for certain body parts; that would be murder, plain and simple.
except, i think it would be okay to clone a whole human if you were only going to take the stem cells, and you took them before it became a concious entity. unfortunately, even that idea of when a human becomes conscious is an issue, so i guess that that's not very helpful.

Cloning is just wrong.
Though most of you talk in paragraphs I'll just type a few sentences.
I believe that technology should've stopped before humans can kill each other with atomic bombs

Cloning is great scientific discovery but it's still wrong... and why would they duplicate other organism to make another one. But if you already created a clone I think you shouldn't kill it and get his/her organs. (that's just disgraceful!)

Cloning is wrong. It's playing with life and shouldn't even be done. I undestand about the organs, but it just seems immortal and it's not 100% safe.

What if a criminal finds out how to clone and wants to clone himself....that is scary. I think people should just leave it alone. It's too dangerous for many reasons.

((I would be surprised if someone actualy reads this.))

In my veiw, Cloning is perfectly fine if they doit corectly. As most of you know, it 2001 scientist successfuly cloned a sheep named Dolly. They began by taking a male and female sheep. As long as you don't take out the Male and Female in the cloning process then It would not be going against God.

A criminal would not beable to clone himself. It is impossible unless he knew a scientist who would do it or had the right things himself. Its a simple thing but you when you clone ((example above)) The clone would start as a fertilized cell and grow just like a regular human. The criminal would have to raize his clone as a criminal for him to actualy make an exact clone of himself. And he would have to be young at the time or he would die befor the clone reached maturity.

Cloning is indeed not 100% safe. Dolly died shortly after she was born. While the original sheep lived.
-----------

Let me paint a picture for you. A Women and Man loved each other truly. They decided to have a kid. The day the child was born, a, I don't know a criminal was in the hospital didn't get his way and held the baby hostage. The man kills the baby the mother and father are sad. What if a doctor said they could clone it. The couple say yes and nine months later they have there baby back. yes I know they could have just had sex again but if the girl had her tubes tied Cloning could still be done.

I can understand just cloning organs, if you're only doing it to help people. Even though it seems a little wrong because organs aren't supposed to be created by humans, and it's not natural, you're still just trying to help people right?

Cloning humans, on the other hand, is completely wrong, IMO. It's not our place as humans to create life any way other than what's natural.

If a couple loses a child and can't have another one, they can adopt. It's completely unnecessary for them to clone another child. I think that it's greedy to do something like that just to have your own child when there are hundreds out there already that need a home. If you can't love an adopted child just as much as your own, then something's wrong.

But, that's another topic. ^^ Like I said, I don't believe cloning people is right, just because it's not the way that people were meant to be created. It's playing God, it's unnatural and it's wrong.

My opinion. ^^
