Oberon sat quietly at the edge of the forest his gaze traveling over the plains with bright gold eyes. His almost constant companion chittered above him collecting berries from the bushes nearby and setting them in a tree. The large male felt relaxed a slight wave of hunger crossed him, but he waited patiently. He could sense the life in the forest pulsing around him, and even the plains were giving off the gentle thrum of power today. He smiled softly at that, never did he find himself overly concerned with the delicate balance of nature for with the lives that fled his presence, new life often came to him.
Today he knew his hunger would be sated for he felt the flickering of old age, a stag that had seen many years would come to him for his meal. He was already feeling out to see with whom he might be able to share.

The wind blew lightly making the grasses bend and the trees creak. A new sound was heard, it made it's way slowly across the plains. A tinkling sound that lightly accrued as the wind blew in small gust. It wasn't of metal, but a more hallow sound as though it were stones or bones. A strange site San must be, a small female with a blood stained fur cloak that made her look larger. Her face is unreadable from the red mask she wore.
San was traveling alone, still on her quest to find a pack to belong too. Her beliefs on what a pack should be were strong which made her quest even harder. As a lone wolf she could not hunt bigger game. She stuck to small animals, rabbits, squirrels, anything she could snap at basically. Sometimes she would follow the larger prey hoping for a chance at one, but it had not come. San had not eaten for a few days, she was hungry and the loud chittering sound that the squirrel was making was drawing her strait towards Oberon.
She stopped suddenly as she saw the male, her bone earrings glinted in the sun sure to give her position away if her sounds had not already. Hunger had made her careless she thought as she stared at the male. How much trouble had she just gotten herself into? Was he another lone wolf or a pack wolf? If a pack wolf, would the pack be friendly or would she end up running for her life? Either way taking off did not seem the option, confrontation would be best, but she was certainly not going to be making the first move.

Oberon lifted his head as he felt it the steady thrumming like a little radar on life moving towards him. A wolf and the stag, one cautious and warry, the other accepting of it's fate. The stag reached Oberon first and slowly lay down before him. Slowly the vibrant green male stood and moved to gently place his teeth around the throat of the larger beast. He waited then respectfully a moment for the stag to change it's mind before ripping away the flesh to let the life seep away. He stood quietly a long moment before licking his muzzle the sweet taste of warm blood dancing across his tongue.
He turned towards the forest his blue cloak trailing across his back like a river. "You may come out you know...I will be happy to share." He smiled softly before sitting down to await his company. Even without his extra abilities the gentle wooden clinking would have given him her position.

San watched the scene with curiosity she had not seen something like this in years. It made her long for the days before the pack she was born into was destroyed. She was young then, not the adult female that stood her now.
The sweet smell of a fresh kill reached her nose, one paw stepped forwards, but the others were held back by cation. Her head moved a bit as she took in the scents of the area. He seemed to be a lone perhaps it was alright? After all she had an inkling of his powers and from how she was raised she couldn't see him attacking her after his invitation.
Behind the mask her eyes blinked trying to take in the view of his cloak. It reminded her of her own fur cloak which made her slightly more at ease. The hunger in her belly ached she needed the food he offered to share. It wasn't a moment more that her legs were moving beneath her.
San rounded to the other side of the stag before settling into a submissive pose. In no way did she like it, but she thought it respectful to someone sharing a meal with her. The light shone through the hole in her mask betraying the where abouts of thankful brown eyes. She wasn't one to speak right off, it wasn't that she was shy, but at times she felt actions were worth more than any words that could be spoken.

With patient golden eyes Oberon took in the sight of the new wolf, she seemed hungry enough to overcome her caution after all. He moved to lay down near the stag's head to watch her eat first. It wasn't that the male wasn't hungry himself he simply wanted his guest to have her choice of what to eat and to be relaxed. His eyes trailed down her submissive posture and the edges of his muzzle rose a bit in amusement, she was no omega...perhaps not even a gamma. He observed her a moment longer before ruling out the position of Alpha as well. She might someday lead a pack but for now Oberon knew she was alone.
"It's hard to be alone..." He murmured softly his voice a soft rumble.
He rested his head on his paws his nose gently touching the stags cheek.

San soon understood that he wished for her to eat first. She stood and laid her muzzle on the stag's flank. It was a tradition and sign of respect her pack had always done, for every life was important and the beast had given it's life so they could live.
Soon she was digging into the beast not really choosing any spots in particular. Once she had her fill she backed away there was still a little more than half of the large stag left. She licked the blood from her muzzle and seemed to be very relaxed now.
"Yes.....it is..." San's masked face turned to look upon the male with gratitude. "You are the first to show me kindness since I lost my pack. I was beginning to think there was no one of worth in these forest. I thank you for the food and I thank you more for the hope. I was starting to think I should head back and die trying to kill those whom destroyed my family. My name is San Mononoke Hime." San bowed her head with respect, but held a strong stance at the same time. "I am in debt to you, shaman."
She could only tell because of the time she had spent with the Shaman of her pack. His death had almost been harder on her then her own mother or father's death. It was good to see a shaman again. They always seemed to have a better way of looking at things and were kinder then most.

Oberon smiled as he watched San devour the meat with gusto, he was glad to be able to share with one who needed it. He felt the pulse of life jump and nodded as she finished her meal. His ears pricked forward as he listened to her and he slowly rose to his paws to stretch.
"It was my pleasure, I could hardly eat it all alone. As for hope...you must never loose that, where there is bad there will always be good, though it is often hidden." He stepped closer to sit across from her ignoring the meal for the moment, it wasn't going anywhere after all.
"You owe me no debt, I have been long without the company of another." As his voice reached a normal tone it became a soothing deep cadence. He tilted his head and watched her, how sad she must be to have lost her pack. Though Oberon knew his gifts would be welcomed in any pack, he had always stayed away from them. He prefered to aid any lone wolves he found, but the loneliness did get to him. Perhaps he should seek out a pack for himself, meet more wolves.
He looked at her with a slight grin as she address him as shaman. "Is it so obvious?"
