User ImageKialio was lazing about, as he usually did. His life wasn't very exciting, and he liked it that way. He was walking through the lands towards an area to get a drink, the hot sun beating down on him mercilessly.

The solid lion padded slowly into the cool water, letting his paws soak up the chill. He smiled, then lapped at it eagerly. His pink tongue lolled in and out quickly, and when he had his fill he meandered away to rest under the shade of a tree.

His mind wandered, and for the first time in a while, it settled on his family. He wasn't close to his siblings, or even his parents really. His independent mind made it hard for him to get close, and he wondered why he didn't crave company like most others. He had accepted life for what it was, and perhaps the quality of familiarity in his life was something he didn't want to go away, making him afraid of change.

Mafuriko was already at the waterhole, lazing about as was not unusual for him. He hadn't really been home much in the last couple days, his ego still feeling the effects of his little... success with Ghali. He'd found a distraction from constantly worrying about Kiwimbi, though it was arguable about whether or not it as suitable. The youth was far from realizing it wasn't, he had such little respect for the idea of romance. Laying by the water's edge, he was surprised to see a lion of a very familiar shade of blue appear nearby. His attention immediately was caught, and part of him wondered if he should even bother going over to talk to his brother.

Eh, couldn't hurt anything to check in on his brother. So Riko got to his feet, and followed after Kialio to the tree where he decided to rest. With a small smirk, he called out a very simple greeting, "Kialio."

Lio's orange gaze cast upward as he heard a slightly familiar voice, though it took a moment to register the voice in his head. When his eyes settled on his brothers face, he smiled and stood. "Mafuriko." He replied with the same simple greeting.

Lio had never really gotten along with his sibling, and he thought it strange that he had been thinking of his family not moments before. "How have you been?" He asked, realizing he hadn't had an actual conversation with his brother in quite some time. He sat down, his tail thumping the ground a few times as he adjusted himself into a comfortable position.

It was not unknown to Riko that he didn't really get along with his brothers, he'd always been bossy, always tried to be the toughest, picking play fights.. Kiwi was the only one he was really close to, but then.. Kiwi and Bubu were his only real friends. His only other real acquaintances would probably have been hard to go and talk to.

"Can't complain," he said smugly, taking a seat despite how Kialio had gotten to his feet. They didn't really need to be formal with each other, they were brothers. Besides, Riko wasn't really the most polite lion.

"What about you?"

Kialio sat down as well, his eyes still on his brother. "Oh, I'm fine." He said with a nod, feeling a little sad at the pleasantries. They really had no memories to talk about together, no perfect brotherly days that sat in the back of their heads peacefully. He felt a stab of guilt that he had never gotten close to his siblings, never really had much of a connection with any of them.

"What have you been up to lately?" He asked, feeling the question was weak but it was the only thing he could think of to say. His brow furrowed slightly and he wondered if his brother felt the same way.

Unlike Kialio, Riko felt no remorse or distress at never having connected with his brothers. Took the competition between them too seriously, he couldn't feel bad about being the best, after all. Though he did acknowledge that his brothers were, at least, better than just random other lions. He felt the familial connection even if there was only a small personal connection.

"Not much," he answered with a grin, "A few interesting encounters with some females, and a great nephew who apparently is one of many we have.. yourself?"
