Winter had long ago passed, and the signs of spring was evident in the air and his surroundings. With a wry smile, Rohan came to the realization.. that this would be one of the first spring that he had in a long while.

"Hopefully, a new year beings new experiences, I would hope." He murmured, with a low chuckle.

His mane had grown slightly longer over the last few months, and the dark locks of hair tinted with green fell into his piercing emerald eyes. Occasionally, he spotted a few critters, who bothered only to give him a glance before scampering off to their determined destination.

His stride was paced and steady, albeit a little slow. There was still daylight within the day, but night would soon fall in a couple of hours. In the span of a few seconds, he concluded that it would be best to find a place to rest for the night. "But the question, is where..?" He asked no one in particular, as he turned his head to various directions. Sweeping the horizon with his eyes, he was surprised to note that there was several other figures in the field.

"And here, I thought I'd be alone." His words were soft as his lips curved in an amused smile.

Liebe's slightly parted mouth eagerly lipped up the early-spring grass, soft and new with the late melting of snow. Her wings were spread out at her sides, creating shade for her eyes and allowing them to stretch out.

The young mare flicked her curly locks of forelock out of her eyes, the usual question of where they came from only passing through her mind briefly. Neither her mother, nor her father, had the same curly hair both she and her brother shared, and she liked it that way.

Speaking of her mother, Journey was still sleeping back where the twolegger that found her had set up its camp, most likely sleeping right in between Oliver and Will. Darkfire, Liebe's all-time favorite Unikalona mare, was probably off hunting; if the small gray mare heard any squirrels scream, she'd know how to find the ruby Unikalona.

Lifting her head up slightly, she noticed that she was not alone in the field. Liebe quite liked the company, allowing her to feel the strong effects of safety in numbers. There was a stallion, the closest one to her, that interested her slightly; he was talking to himself. She lifted up her head and stepped a few paces towards him.

"Pardon me," she called out cheerfully, less than fifty yards away from him. "Who might you be speaking to?"

He had just been about to turn away when a voice drifted upon the winds. Since there were no other soquilis around, he didn't doubt that the question was directed to him. With a turn of his head, he glanced at the strange mare for a moment before rotating his body around. And without hesitation, he replied in answer to the mare's question. "I suppose than I'm speaking to the air." He suggested cheerfully, gesturing with a toss of his head toward the sky as he adopted a friendly expression.

Since the plains were relatively quiet for now, he didn't doubt that his words had reached her ears. "But from such a distance.. I suppose it would become wearisome." Acknowledging that fact, In less than a few strides, he covered the distance between the two soquili.

He came to a stop a few feet away from the mare. "But forgetting about about that.." He said, with a nod of his head, "What might you be doing here, by yourself?" He questioned, with a glance towards the surroundings that surrounded them.It seemed.. as if she was alone, but he imagined that a lot of mares came and went without need of an escort.

"Perhaps, your out here to have a little fun?" He mused, with a teasing smile.

Liebe quirked her head to the side. What a strange place, this was. She was slightly surprised that the stallion had covered the distance between them in a few quick strides, startling her, but she stayed firm.

"Did the wind answer you back?" she asked, a slightly playful grin on her face.

She stepped a few feet away from the stallion, wary of her mother's warning tone when she had last spoken about the "too-friendly" stallions that roamed the land. She didn't want to scare the stallion away with her antics, but she didn't want to invite him back home for supper quite yet.

"It is of no consequence as to why I am out here alone," she said slyly, ruffling her wings and swishing her curly tail back and forth. Her vibrant green eyes scanned the stallion from head to hoof, catching on his own green eyes for only a moment before quickly looking away. She looked back onto the horizon, where a lone sapling, bare of all leaves and strikingly skeletal against the backdrop of the brilliant blue sky. "Maybe some fun, but what does it matter to you?"

"You have eyes." He noted, with a grin. "Do you think the wind answered me back?" He questioned, tilting his head in amusement. "But than again, Mother nature isn't one to answer by any normal means." That statement was certainly true.. or so he believed. As part of a gypsy tribe, it was no doubt that they believed in such myths. And he wasn't an exception. But whether the mare accepted his answer or not, was entirely left up to her.

He would have liked others to respect nature, but it was a fact that a soquili's beliefs were entirely their own. Whether they contradicted another's beliefs were irrelevant.

Granted that he was talking, he carefully observed the other mare with a keen eye. It was apparent that the other mare was keeping her distance away from him. "A cautious one.." He remarked to himself, with a smirk tugging at his lips. He felt an urge to assure the mare that he certainly wasn't dangerous in any sort of form.. But if anything, he was as unpredictable as the next stallion.

"No, It's not any business of mine." He answered nonchalantly, with a careless smile. "But wouldn't you agree that one is entitled to questions.." He started, with only a jaunty glance at the mare before finishing.

"Although one may not always get the answers they may want. In this case.. I think I've just received a very subtle dismissal. Am I correct?" He wasn't ruffled by the mare's words. No. if anything, he was rather amused. He had absolutely no intention of leaving, if she should wish it so~

Liebe chose her words carefully, trying to sound a tad more intelligent than she actually was. "Maybe the wind did speak to you," she said after a moment, a fraction of a second, in a sly voice. "Who's to question that? Is the wind going to speak up to prove it?" She laughed a little. Probing the silly questions that nobody had an answer to made her day.

And it made her trust this bizarre stallion just a little more.

"I may be a cautious one," she remarked, extending her wing like a two-leggers multi-faceted front hoof and touching the longest feather on the very tip to his nose. "But I am in no way dismissing you." She stepped closer to him, a grin plastered from ear to ear.

"My name is AF Goldenes Herz, but you can call me Liebe," she said cheerfully, bowing her head a little. Her curly gold and dark brown forelock hung over one of her eyes, the other beckoning the stallion to become her friend.

Needless to say, Liebe wasn't afraid of him in any way, shape, or form; if he decided to get rough, she could defend herself like a true fighter, as Darkfire had taught her (though, deep in her heart, she knew that she only learned how to defend herself from Darkfire because the Unikalona was actually trying to kill her instead of teach her). A more reasonable side of her, yet slightly more foolish at the same time, did not alert her of any warning sirens about the stallion, but it wasn't as though she'd pay attention to them anyway.

"Wholeheartedly, I direct that question back at you.. Do tell me when the wind does answers it." He said, with a low chuckle.

He was glad to see that the mare reciprotated in kind, which would make their meeting vastly easier to continue on with. He could see, that she relaxed a little before she began to speak once again.

With the action of her wings, and the royal tone of her words, he couldn't help but raise an amused eyebrow at the mare's actions. She may have been been a proud mare, but her manner was hardly arrogant. Concluding that in mind, With a smile of his own, he lowered his face and bowed slightly to the mare.

After a moment, he quickly lifted his head back up again. Not once during the process did he let his eyes leave the mare's own. "I'm glad to be granted with a nickname." He remarked. "Well, seeing as you introduced yourself. I suppose.." He paused, as if in thought. 'That I should as well. My name is Rohan. " He finished the sentence with a nod, as he moved smoothly beyond the mare, walking forward.

"Well, Liebe. Since I have a day to go, and time to spare.. how would you feel if I asked you to be my companion for the day?" He said, with a reckless look in his eyes and a untelling grin upon his face.

"The wind only answers if you are true of heart," she said softly, glancing at the skeletal tree again. "And if it has the answer to the question." She sighed and looked back towards the brown stallion.

Locking eyes with him as he introduced himself relaxed her a little. It proved that he was not glancing to a comrade in the bushes, waiting to jump on her. It proved that he was not lying about his name, which was nice.

As he walked past her, she caught a hint of his scent. It was nice, subtle. In the past, she had sniffed some of the nastiest-smelling Soquili around and told herself to keep clear of them, on the notion that they did not bathe. This stallion smelled fresh, clean. Nice.

"Be your companion for the day?" Liebe asked, giggling slightly. "I might have to think about that a little," she said sarcastically, pretending to go into deep, soul-searching thought. Truthfully, on the inside, she was screaming at herself to just go and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting Soquili in the meadow with Rohan... but maybe that was not what he had in mind? Only one way to find out.

"I would find it an honor and a privelage to grace you with my presence today, Rohan," she joked, grinning.

Surprised by the mare's answer to the question, he gave her a quiet and observing glance. She was deeper than she had let on, or he had originally assumed her to be. By the answer alone, She had earned herself a majority of his respect..

"Although I am honored to have you accept my proposal, and with such of such lovely company.. I do wonder what should I say to the other stallions who would approach?" He questioned, with a tilt of his head to the side. He allowed a small smile to settle on his face, as he leaned against the skeletal tree with a relaxed posture. It was a look he had perfected, and with such deceptiveness.

"I have several answers.. But I think it'd be more entertaining to hear yours." He said, his voice soft and low enough that only the mare could hear.

Liebe smiled slyly, reaching out with her wing and brushing something off Rohan's shoulder. "I like the idea of you saying I'm holding you captive," she joked, bringing both of her wings together in front of her as though they were tied together. She shrugged. "But I would definitely love to hear of your ideas. I'm not one to dominate the creative side of life."

She watched Rohan intently, her curled tail swishing behind her gracefully. The soft breeze that whirled through the air gently lifted her mane and tail slightly, but not by much, and ruffled a few of the feathers on her wings as she pulled them back to her body. She had gotten what she wanted today in someone that would keep her occupied until she felt the increasing need to return to her mother. Until that moment, however, Liebe didn't have a mother; she was a lone wanderer that just so happened to find the perfect wandering companion.

"I don't believe that any stallions would come after me in the first place," she said truthfully. "But one must always be prepared, in my experiences."

With a nod, he acknowledged his thanks to the mare as he usually did. The two words, as simple as they might be, he felt were only to be spoken when they were meant with genuine sincerity. And it was rarely, if ever, that he said them to another.
.
A lock of his dark hair tinted by the green, fell into his eyes as the breeze blew against the two soquilis. As he blew it away, "Seeing as I'm a stranger, I must say that you do have a charming sense of humor." He remarked, with a sly glance. "As much as you like the idea.." He said, with an intrigued smile. "What would it do to my pride as a stallion.. to say that I'm being held captive by someone.. much less a mare?" Pretending to be shocked about such a statement, he pretended to wince at the imaginary stallions who would tease him to no end.

Noticeably, he didn't answer her other question but kept his silence on the matter and replied to another instead. "It's good to always be prepared.. But never doubt yourself." He warned, momentarily pausing as he chose out his next words carefully.

"Words have life. Once said, they can't be taken back." The last sentence, he spoke in an almost inaudible whisper that carried itself among the winds.

Silence lingered in the air for a moments longer, before he moved away from the tree and gave Liebe a smile. "I'm not one to give out such compliments, but take pride in your appearance, Liebe." He left the sentence vague, to leave the mare to assume what he had meant by those words.

Liebe followed the stallion with her sharp, lime green eyes, anticipating his next move. It was always a great treat when another did exactly as she had expected, whether it be flicking some stray strand of hair out of his or her eyes, or recoiling from a particularly nasty smelling flower.

"I quite liked that idea," she said, punctuating her speech with movements of her wings. "And what's so bad about a mare holding you captive? I know of a mare, a Unikalona, that would do much worse than just parade you around in front of all of the other stallions to embarrass you." She winked. Though she had not felt the full wrath that was Darkfire, she knew what the mare was capable of, and admired it from afar.

She lets his words sink into her. She loved hearing little thoughts and sayings like that, saving them in her memory banks to impress someone else with in the near future. That was definitely a keeper, though it was more than likely deeper than she had comprehended.

"'Take pride in my appearance'?" she asked, quirking her brow slightly as a smile formed on her lips. "Are you calling me pretty? Because if you are, I want to know."

Rohan was aware that Liebe's green eyes followed his movements, although he chose not to pay much attention to the fact. He had a feeling that Liebe was more than she revealed. Especially, if she kept company with a unikalona. Rumors, or more so facts had said that Kalonas were as vicious and malicious beyond belief. Even if the kalona blood was diluted with a unicorns, He didn't doubt the feriocity of a uni-kalona.

And although Liebe kept the company of a uni-kalona.. He did not. "Seeing as I haven't met your friend the Unikalona.. I suppose it would be entirely irrelevant to the conversation, Wouldn't you think?" He said, studying the mare with speculative eyes. "And aside from the appraising eyes of the public, As a stallion, I would feel very discomforted." He continued with a lazy smile. At least, a stallion needed some pride. And he didn't believe anyone was worth sacrificing it for~

Chuckling at the quirk of her brow, "Pretty?" He repeated, a wry grin tugging at his lips. "Why don't you ask yourself that? Because Surely, you must know that I'm not going to answer it." He said, with finality while giving her an enigmatic smile.

He gave the words a few moments to sink in, before taking a few steps ahead. "We've spent enough time standing. Why don't we get walking?" He suggested lightly tossing his head back, although it wasn't quite a suggestion but rather a statement.
