I agree on some of these, but here are a few that stood out...

Chris Jensen

9. No Character Customization

Offering even rudimentary character customization could have gone a long way in CoD4, especially if used in conjunction with rolling-over levels. How cool would it be to earn a nice patch for your arm or a different hat for your head based on how many times you've reached the level-cap?

11. Weapons Poke Through Walls

I think I'm hidden behind a wall. Suddenly, I'm under fire and, eventually, dead. How did the enemy know where I am when their UAV isn't activated? The answer comes when watching the Kill-Cam, as you suddenly witness your weapon somehow poking through solid matter, inadvertently exposing your whereabouts. For a game that allows people to shoot through walls, this is a pretty nasty bug.

18. Air-Knife Attacks

Chalk this up to lag. How many times have you managed to sneak up on a sniper and drive your knife into his back, only to be rewarded with no kill? Countless, I'm sure. Of course, what happens next is the sniper turns around and disembowels you. Worse is when an enemy somehow slices you up with a knife from ten-feet away, because in their reality, they're right on top of you even though you see them as being quite distant. Thanks lag!

19. Running Doesn't Appear on Radar

I personally think there's far too much running around in CoD4 without any repercussion. Somehow you can run upstairs like a maniac without making any sound. How about when a player starts running it makes them appear on the radar? Or at least appear to enemies within a short distance? This would serve to minimize the lameness of clopping around without raising your threat level.

29. No Detailed Statistics

Leaderboards are fine and well, but what I really want is some detailed statistics. I'd love to know how many people I've killed with a specific weapon, what my kill streak was with a particular weapon, which player have I killed more than other? I don't want to have to go a website to see this info, either, like other games demand. I want in-game, detailed stats...please?

30. Can't See Party Members on Radar

I like to play in a two-party group with my brother. Unfortunately, when the round starts, I usually lose track of him as he becomes just another arrow on the compass. I'd love the ability to see where he's at so we can stick together. How about making party members display as a different color on the radar so we can help each other out?

9. I don't mind a game without character customization, but it's especially odd to complain about a game that randomly assigns you to one of four different factions (depending on map, of course). Because you never know what team you're playing for, it's better to plop you down without varying your skin to make you look a like an enemy.

11. I think someone skipped training/story mode. Shooting through walls WAS put into the game, and it is a nice addition now that bullets aren't stopped by infinitely thin sheets of plywood.

18. I hate this, which is why this one is on my list.

19. Who cares how much sound you generate by walking? If you're on a battlefield, you're not necessarily going to hear a pindrop, and even if you do, you're not going to have time to react if an enemy has run up behind you.

29. Boo-hoo. If you were playing professionally, I can understand tracking you statistics, but I really don't want to hear about how my teammate leads the reqion in headshots. Ego-tastic!

30. Again, Boo- f&%#ing-hoo. Realism, people. Do you want it or not? There is no way to tell the exact positions of your teamates when you're on a battlefield. Having UAV makes some sense, as a reacon team might be feeding you their positions, so I'll allow that for some realism, but if there's a way to see your own teamates, there's a way for your enemy to see them, too. Stealth is a very important factor. (I know is sounds a bit contradictory, but work with me.

Any thoughts?

Halo fanperson anyone? He or she is probably mad that COD4 is so much better than Halo 3 that COD4 is the most played X-box live game than Halo 3. Also too much nit-picking.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with COD4, but not particularly for any of these reasons.
I'm just not into "war" games. Especially overly-realistic ones. Of course, I still want to play EndWar, but... I don't know. I'll have to wait and see how "realistic" it is.

Anyways, back on topic, there are going to be problems with every game, especially the online aspect of it. No game will be perfect.

You guys can b***h my head off and call me a fanboy all you want, but Call of Duty 4 was not very good. Legends made this point in another topic, but multiplayer was pretty imbalanced, and it just felt generic overall. Maybe it's because I grew up off playing military shooters, but there wasn't really anything unique about CoD 4. Those "thriller" moments in the singleplayer campaign that people went orgasmic over? I didn't find them all that thrilling. And then the raging CoD fanboys had the balls to compare the game to BioShock. That was what REALLY bugged me. Comparing generic, over-hyped, blatantly over-rated, mainstream trash like Call of Duty 4 to an innovative, deep, and creative masterpiece like BioShock? Are you serious? I thought I was being too harsh to it at first, but then when I actually played it, I realized that I was right about every bad thing I said about CoD 4. However, it didn't disappoint me since I wasn't expecting anything good in the first place. It just pissed me off.

For #11, I don't know the game too well but the weapon poking through the wall (unless there's a hole in it) isn't too good and hardly dependable.

The bullets going though the wall is another story. That can be debated depending on the bullets and the wall.

I agree, weapons poking out of walls is really dumb. It gives the enemy an unfair advantage.

Also the knifing system is terribly unbalanced. It's a slave to lag. The person with the worse internet connection always wins.
