Hi everyone! I was hoping to get a little advice from ya'll. My fiancee and I are planning a very unconventional wedding, and I was hoping to get some advice on how to ad a little bit of normalcy to it. Both he and I are very unconventional people, but both our families are conservative. I know that if everything is off-the-wall, it's going to shock them. I know we won't be invited to any more Christmas dinners after that.
sweatdrop Anyways, some unconventional elements are, but are not limited to:
- civil marriage, not religious (against the wishes of both our parents)
- the wedding is in October
- our vows have been written in LOLspeak (a.k.a. LOLcat pidgin)
- my wedding dress is black, red and white (pics

- my finacee will be wearing all black
- the best man is trans-gendered
- taking advice from danniqi, we're filling our iPod with our favourite music and renting speakers for the reception rather than hire a band or DJ
- the wedding cake is Nintendo-themed, with Mario and Peach cake toppers
- our first dance as a married couple will be on a DDR mchine
So yeah... Those are our plans in a nutshell. Any advice to lessen the shock to our families?
