Aailyah stumbled through the shadows, struggling to regain her breath. Her body shook with fear and sweat matted down her beautiful fur. The pale cheetah, usually calm and collected was absolutely frantic. In a hoarse voice, she was able to call out a single name, "c-chura!" Despite her attempts, she was quiet and unable to be heard more than a few feet away.

Looking in all directions, the cheetah began to regain herself. She was still where she rested and nothing around her had changed. Looking down towards her paw, she saw that the circular symbol was no longer there.

It had been a dream that woke her in the night. Surely it seemed more real. Aailyah, still breathing heavily thought back onto her past that often haunted her. She was a seer and a curse of the seer was to witness visions of the future, past and sometimes the present. While Aailyah could see all, the future was what really scared her. Was there a possibility that it could be changed?

Chura slept rather peacefully underneath a greatly shaded tree, snoozing silently. Unbeknownst to him, his frantic pale mother, Aailyah, was trying to find and hunt him down, missing her little African frog... In her visions at least.

Chura, in actuality, had been away from his mother and his home for almost three months now. At first, he had been terrified of the outside world... Not knowing what was going to pop up or where. He had been through quite a bit too. Everything from being cubnapped to gaining the best friend that a lost and mute cub like himself could ever ask for! He had even heard quite a few good stories, some from others he had met along his way to finding home, and others from his new friend. So far, at least in this cheetah cub's mind, nothing could top this semi-long adventure.

Boy was he going to be wrong.

It was during the first month that Aailyah nearly fell apart. When she found that Chura had disappeared after all her children before him, she was crushed. She found a deep connection with her son, something that went beyond their bond as mother and child. Aailyah had visions in the past of Chura as something more, but when she struggled to gain more knowledge she always woke.

As the time went on, the white cheetah began to lose hope that she would ever find her kittens again. In fact, she knew that all of them were safe and enjoying life, all but Chura. She was growing empty and becoming a shell of what she formerly was. A month later, Aailyah was gifted with a vision of her son and a female cheetah in his company. She did not know anything about this other cheetah, but felt a strong feeling attached to both of them. In fact, it was something she expected even they didn't feel yet. Love.

So pleased to know that her favorite son was alive and well, Aailyah began to regain herself. She could be assured that they were happy and taking care of themselves.

But that night she was wrong. Her vision - what she expected to be the past - was nothing but pain and loss for all cheetahs!

Not being a seer like his mother, Chura lacked any knowledge of what was what to come, as well as what had already come and gone. Instead, he lived out his life like any other normal creature, waiting for what ever was going to happen, to just happen already. He never knew if it was going to be dangerous or if it would be the one event that changed his life forever. Instead, he had to play it all out, rather than sitting by and waiting for a vision of it to come to him.

As the small cub yawned a bit, he burried his face into his paws, blocking out all the light from around him. It was another boring and motherless day... And he really didn't want anything to do with it.. Not today.

Giving her body a good shake, Aailyah tried to rid herself of that awful feeling. The vision was not leaving her mind and a strong feeling of guilt came over her. Had she been wrong to simply allow her cubs to leave? Since she had had her visions, she had a rough idea of the locations of all of them. While her love for them often tried to pull her to them, she felt they chose their fates on their own and did not believe that she could change that.

"Oh Chura.. what is it about you..?" Aailyah whispered to her son, fully aware of the great distance that was between them. When she had her first vision of his location, she tried desperately to find him, until she forced herself back. Aailyah believed that, like the others, he had chosen to leave on his own accord.

Her most recent vision, however, was enough for her to begin her quest again. She would not allow her son to be threatened by a potential future if she had the capability to fix it.

Running forward, the mother cheetah put all of her strength into sprinting through the savannah, calling out her son's name. She would run until her body collapsed if it was neccessary in order to find him.

Chura, having no idea that his mother was trying so desperately to track him down, began his day as he would any other. While he didn't want it to start, he pushed himself to begin it anyhow. Thoughts of his mother were beginning to flood his mind, and for reasons he couldn't understand. Sure, he had missed her so much, and he had been searching for his way back home for some time now. However, never had he had feelings such as these. It was like she had been right there with him, and then just vanished. It seem like it was going to change any time soon.

Aailyah's body was becoming weak. She had been unsuccessfull during the entire night and had run without food to satisfy the pains in her stomach. It was uncommon for cheetahs to run for such long distances and her body was clearly trying to remind her of that. All muscles were tense and throbbing in pain. With breaths coming out as ragged pants, the pale colored cheetahs thought only for a moment of resting. Determination pushed her forward and she continued.

Every step was painful, but the reward of finding her son was all the inspiration she needed. Chura was her greatest reward to becoming pregnant and she regretted nothing. While the two of them did not have a family to call their own, they had each other.

"Chu-!" Aailyah began to call out when her voice cut off. A few meters ahead was a small green cub raising from sleep and getting to his feet. It was as though doubt left the cheetah entirely as she quickened her pace to make it to the cub's side. This had to be Chura!

Looking up at the bright ball in the sky, being slightly blinded for a few minutes afterwards, the young cheetah sort of stumbled about. He had never really taken a glance at the sun up above him, so his eyes were sort of like 'ZOMGWHATTHEHECK?!' at the moment. He blinked them furiously, trying to see, and fell completely over, his legs scrambling about in the air.

"Meep!", he called out, surprised and still rather blind. Oh yes.. Could this day really get anymore weird?

As Aailyah continued to run towards the green figure, she was further assured that it was her son. During the time that he was gone, he had certainly grown. She only hoped that he had been alright during his travels. With excitement in her voice, Aailyah called out again, "Chura!"

Before the cub could answer, he seemed to fall down towards the ground. Worried that something had happened, Aailyah quickened her pace and finally made it to the cub's side. He appeared to be blinded for a moment and the mother cheetah watched him with fear in her eyes. "A-are you alright? Did I scare you?"

Suddenly, Chura thought that he had been more than blinded. He could of sworn that he had heard his mother's voice... That sweet, soft voice of hers... The voice that had always been there for him and had helped him with so many things... The voice that he had missed because he had traveled just a little too far from home. He blindly tried to reach up into the air, feeling around for anything solid... Anything at all! It was like a dream though. His vision was pure white and he heard his mother's sweet sound. Maybe he hadn't actually gotten up this morning, but dreamt that he had. He did occasionally have dreams like that, and they had taunted him so.

"Chura....?", he called out, still not knowing much in the way of words since he had left home, his paws still feeling the air above him, his mind not quite sure what to think about this whole situation.

Aailyah watched helplessly as he son moved about blindly in her direction. Lowering her head in order to nuzzle him reassuringly, she only hoped that her son had not been permanently disabled. There was so much he had to do yet in his life and this would only prove to be more of a challenge for him. Whatever the issue was, Aailyah was more than blissful to be in the presense of her son once again.

When he spoke, she smiled warmly, reminded of the few words he knew to speak. Though he was larger than she remembered, he had not changed in any other ways it seemed. Speaking quietly as though not to frighten him, Aailyah continued, "Chura, it is me, your mother, Aailyah. I am here... You are safe.."

The young cheetah sort of layed there silently, feeling a sort of soft and sleek object between his paws now. He stroked the soft thing, his eyes looking blindly up. Then, a voice filled the air... The kind of voice that could make an angel sing... His mother.

Instantly, Chura's golden eyes darted to the figure that stood above him, it still being very fuzzy. However, he could indeed make out the white border of it, and the bright pink eyes that stood out against it. With a smile plastered on the cub's face, his paws grabbed around the white figure's neck, his face burrying into it's soft fur, staining the precious coat with tears.

"Momma..."

He had finally found her.
